Justin Houston released (Steelers may be negotiating with him)

Heard earl thomas trying to get to Baltimore or restructure someone ASAP to seal Houston

I was wondering why he would call up and say "this is justin Houston, i want an apartment ".

Maybe he just said "this is Huston, we need an apartment"....................................................................

They will announce Ben"s restructure shortly after they announce Huston was signed to a two year deal. Then all the secrecy will be over.........

So is the consensus that this was all a false alarm or just rumors?

I think the consensus is that nobody knows what the **** is going on.

I believe this applies to many aspects of life.

When this all turns out legit and Justin Houston has his born-again resurgence in Pittsburgh as a Steeler, I'll, well, I'll remember this post and your lack of faith. Yeah.

The longer no news happens the better it’s the Steelers way. I bet Ben wants 40 million in the first 2 years not like he’s gonna play for 5

I'm sure the sticking point for Houston is where he can hole up during training camp. I'm sure he heard some apartment in the area just opened up.

A lot of Pirates and Steelers live in $2000+/mo apartments in Bloomfield and Shady Side. A friend of mine delivers their dry cleaning to their buildings.

I guess I should of never left the East End and bought real estate back in the 80s...

I would of never thought that apartments in these neighborhoods, would command such high rent one day..maybe certain ares of Shadyside, but Bloomfield, Garfield, Lawrenceville, Morningside, East Liberty.....wow!

Man how things have changed!

Because twitter crap rumors are news only to fools, lol

I bet the Colts get him, they still have $100M in cap space to spend

Yea, those areas have put up many high end complexes and are the "hip" parts of the city. Lawrenceville and Bloomfield has boomed and their crappy houses are even outrageous. South Side, too. Prime real estate.

Yeah...

I dont get back their much anymore now that Mom & Dad are gone...I do go back to visit a couple times a year, mainly to sit and reflect on a bench that I had dedicated to them at the reseviour in Highland Park though...

Still have a brother that lives in the city in Squirrel Hill...everyone else is outside the city or out of state..

The transformation of The Smoky City continues to amaze me..

that's really nice. I don't live too far from Highland Park. Glad you get a chance to come back. Even for it's crappy roads with potholes and mind-numbing traffic, it has turned into a nice city and keeps improving.

Even if the Steelers don't punch the ticket on Houston, I'm surprised no one else has yet, or am I missing something?

Seems weird that the news on him just stopped.

Soon it will be said,..............."Huston signs with STEELERS, Ben again YES, Mr.big checks bounced"

We need ANOTHER THUMPER...Get this done

That first tier of players got signed right away. The second tier got scooped up and now its on the the draft. Once the draft happens you'll get the next round of cuts post June or July 1 for more cap savings. There's likely players to be had there if we have cap room but we need to hit homeruns with our draft picks.

Would be great if we signed him, of course that would mean Dupree would be sitting on the bench for 9 million unless we trade him or something, not sure how they would handle the Dupree situation.

This is why I don’t see us signing Houston despite the rumors.

That 5th year money is guaranteed. I assume we would eat it.

Yeah, I thought they had longer to withdraw from that, but it was, apparently, the beginning of the League Year.
