5 years 85 million, 51 guaranteed for an inside LB that is closer to a Vince Williams type ILB than a Shazier type.
Landon Collins 6 years 84 million.

Basically means, the Steelers aren't doing anything until this **** calms down. No way they're shelling out that $ to anyone on the FA market.

Just imagine what Shazier would be looking at if he hadn't been hurt

coryea still thinks players will take a hometown discount just to sign here, lol

speaking of

Steelers announced Ryan Shazier's contract has been tolled into the 2019 NFL season.

It means Shazier will stay with the Steelers making the veteran minimum and, most importantly for his recovery, continue to receive the NFL insurance plan. Like last year, the Steelers will stash Shazier on the reserve/PUP list once they are able to make the move. Shazier's football future remains up in the air, but this gives him a chance to keep working toward a return.

Tolling his contract means Shazier will be paid a salary commensurate with his years of service in the NFL, he will continue to accrue seasons toward his NFL players’ pension, and his medical insurance plan will be the same coverage that all active NFL players receive.

“We will continue to support Ryan’s efforts to return to play,” said General Manager Kevin Colbert. “Although he won’t be able to help us on the field in 2019, his leadership, insight, and emotional support have always been very valuable to us, and we look forward to his contributions in our pursuit of a championship.”

Clearly, this is the most beneficial arrangement for Shazier, and the Steelers will reap the benefits of having him remain a part of the team on a daily basis through the 2019 season.

and I don't think u will find any cheap DB's either

Landon Collins' new deal will pay him $32 million in the first two seasons.

The six-year, $84 million figure quoted for Collins on Monday is staggering, but the real measure of a deal is guaranteed money and early-year cash flow.

New Redskins S Landon Collins' 6-year deal includes a staggering $32 million over the first two years, $26 million of which is fully guaranteed at signing. And as a practical matter, all of the $32 million is guaranteed. Wow.

we are stuck with Burnett and he will be bummed about it. Weel, he will have to play on a one year prove your worth for next season free agency period

Trent Brown to Raiders $66 Million $37 of it guaranteed. BTW, Trent Brown is the Patriots LT.

1. I don't recall saying that anywhere.
2. Ramon Foster did, he could've gotten more some where else.

Did anyone here want to pay Mosley that kind of money?

Steelers are getting the rep as a place nobody wants to come to now with their dysfunctional locker room

The only player that even said he would consider coming here is Golden Tate, why haven't they signed him already!?!?!?!?!?!?

I've been asking this myself. I think he's a perfect fit here.

Yeah, JuJu will be moving up to #1 that means he will take ABs position so Tate would fit right in at slot

So have we contemplated that perhaps, just perhaps. L. Bell was not, repeat NOT, stupid in holding out. Maybe, just maaaybe that was a slap-in-the-face offer the Steelers gave him. And he might get every damn penny and then some in free agency?

All at the expense of the Steelers fans because... wait for it.... the Steelers owner, GM and coach are truly the problem.

No?

Why because they didn't give him 17 million per season and guaranteed 50+million? Maybe they don't think he's worth that. Instead they offered him a measly 14.5 million per with 42 million guaranteed over the first 3 seasons.

I personally disagreed with your thread on the AB trade, but you are right on with this.

Notice its the same teams throwing stupid money every year, and these teams continue to be the bottom feeders of the league, the Jets and Raiders are exhibit A.

Are the p*ts, eagles, and chiefs doing this ****? Nope.

The rams last year were the first team I can remember that spent big in FA and had it pay off for them, and that's only becuase their QB is on a rookie deal that makes is possible to do, they will be in cap hell soon enuf.

Having said that, the AB trade was a disgrace, one of the lowest moments that I can remember

They had the Bills #9 overall and early 2nd round pick until AB blew that up, that looked like a pretty good deal.

That was a great deal and AB ruined it, his legacy on PIT us ruined forever. If he ever shows back up after he retires I would boo his *** mercilessly.

Where we disagree is I tell Mayock to take his 3rd and 5th rounder and go kick sand, eat the 2.7 million next week and wait for a better offer, I doubt we could do much worse as we get closer to the season, and everybody should be used to his BS by now.

I wouldn't have been against that, but maybe the Raiders are the only team that was willing to give him a new deal, other GM's knew if he didn't get a new deal he wouldn't show so that stopped pretty much everyone from trading. That's what would make trading for him appealing, his remaining contract, but if he was going to no show, no one was going to trade for him and sign him with all that baggage, well except one team.

You act as if an NFL team has never made a regrettable signing.

Bud's 9 mil is looking cheap when Ladarius Smith gets 16 mil.

I don't care if Shazier signs a deal for 50 million to hold a clipboard all year, Bud is being SEVERELY overpaid. What Tomlin and Co. sees in him is a great mystery of the world.

What the Steelers see in Bud is that his back-ups aren't better? He is currently best option.

Chick or Ola would match Bud's stats at a fraction of the cost, no doubt. I mean you can't get much worse than 2.5 (combined, not just solo) tackles per game and .3 sacks per game.
