AB Goes to Oakland

The Steelers were NEVER keeping AB, it was NEVER an option. The drama is gone, that was more important than any draft pick.

Exactly. I've said all along they should take whatever they can get.

The Steelers continue to draft these type of players this is what they get. The let the inmates run the asylum.

Tomlin should be fired for allowing this to manifest.

Colbert should be stripped of his duties as well.

What a **** show this once great team has turned into.

Can’t wait to see who they draft and screw that up too.

They need to cut Burns, cut Dupree, and cut Boswell

And go get a few play making free agents.

Go back to a run first offense and save whatever good years Ben has left.

That's the other problem. Tombert seems to draft offense just fine but can't draft defense for ****.

Not a bad haul in exchange for someone who is either going to be in jail or get the AIDS within two years.

Agree. Frankly I think he has brain damage and won't play for more than two years.

Like I said we won’t get more than a 3’rd

Gruden has too big of an ego to let Brown upstage him. When Browns numbers do not meet his expectations you know there will be sideline entertainment.
This will be a wonderful distraction to take focus away from the Steelers. The LaCanfordas, Schefters and Rappaports will be wetting themselves!

The point is Colbert lied. He should have told the truth in the beginning-"I believe if we get a 3rd round choice I will be happy
Instead of saying "we win get due compensation for AB or we will wait.

Once again I'm thinking that another WR leaves the Steelers and never does as well again anywhere else.

Gruden likes to think of himself as a QB guru and a technical play designer with a massive playbook. AH is used to playing a little street ball with Ben when needed. Ben and AH were great at that. It will be interesting to see if AH thrives under Gruden or if both sides get frustrated early on.

Glad it’s over....at least the picks received could allow a move up in the first to grab a player they really want.

I think of it this way: Would you agree to take a $7 million cap hit for a 3rd and 5th round pick?

I can’t understand for the life of me why a player-for-player trade was never considered. **** draft picks... even first rounders... this team needs proven talent in the secondary now if they want to make a run at another championship. I’d take proven talent at any position to be sure, but help in the secondary would’ve been my prime focus if I was running this team. First round picks are nice to have, but this team doesn’t have the luxury of waiting for players to develop into something.

I think this is the updated Steelers picks this year.

1st Round - 20th pick overall
2nd Round - 52nd pick overall
3rd Round - 66th pick overall - from Oakland
4th Round - 83rd pick overall
4th Round - 122nd pick overall
5th Round - 143rd pick overall - from Oakland
6th Round - 175th pick overall - from Oakland
6th Round - 192nd pick overall
7th Round - 219th pick overall - from Tampa

Unless the Steelers are uncharacteristically active in free agency, they have too many holes to fill to be trading away picks. WR, ILB, CB, OLB, RB, etc.

Draft picks don’t create dead money on the cap.

I'm sure the league is thrilled with the new blueprint for high talent negotiation, courtesy of the goofy dysfunctional Steelers. They all probably thought this **** show was just an amusing sideshow that would never affect them.

What did we use our original 3rd and 5th on? Nevermind #83 s/b 3rd #175 s/b 5th

AB showed the rest of the NFL the blueprint for getting their way.

Calling me names doesn't make you right. You seem to be caught up on explaining why the offer was low. Everybody knows why it was low after AB blew up the Buffalo deal. This issue is that the steelers would have been better off keeping AB than taking such a low trade.

Serious question. The steelers keep AB. Explain to me how it is different than the last couple years.

Let's say AB shows up acting like an *******. So now you suspend him, you fine him. You do the things you should have done last year. AB is under contract.

I agree with you, but this way Coach Tomlin can't be blamed...LOL

You really are ******* delusional if you think the Steelers were getting anything more for a player they had to get rid of.

It's good to see you covering for the ******* again. You have been throwing the same **** out here for days in defense of this *******. The Steelers look like complete idiots as an organization. Especially Rooney. Restructures his contract to convert to a signing bonus to help the cap, gets screwed by Brown for the 11 million, gets a 3 and 5 rounded for a HOF. The Brown gets 30 million in guaranteed.money. Yeah, missing the Chief and Dan each passing day.

AB showed the rest of the NFL the blueprint for getting their way.

Only if you're one of the top players at your position though. It wouldn't work out the same way if Marcus Gilbert tried it.

He won. The problem for the Raiders is that he's got no incentive now. He'll **** around and **** up. The problem for the Steelers, and by extension the league, is that big talent can now dictate where they go, like the stupid NBA. The next cba deal is going to be very interesting. Sadly, there's really not much else the Steelers could have done. He wasn't going to play for them and they weren't going to cut him. And even with him sticking around but not playing, he would have been a huge distraction with his social media bullshit. The NFL really sucks anymore.
