Yes, and if he showed up you have a huge can of worms. Only delusional fans could think that AB could stay with the Steelers or that the Steelers had leverage. Hence why the settles for a 3rd and 5th.

Holy **** even worse than I expected. And I knew they would get **** all from the beginning. Did this deal include how we screwed them for Bryant. What a mess. He ****** them with his bullshit till they got nothing. Christ the Pats got as much for guys they let walk last year in FA. What a debacle. unbelievable. Some of you learned a tough lesson about negotiating. Friday deadline. C'mon.

Unfortunately, not much they could do, other than keep a disgruntled ******** on the team. Who's going to give up a first round pick for a player who history says is likely to come back looking for another pay increase as soon as another wide receiver gets a bigger contract?

This is on Tomlin and Colbert. You got jack crap, maybe a 3rd or 4th round future comp pick for Me'Von Bell, and only got a 3rd and a 5th round pick for Mr. Big Chest. Who would have believed that in March 2018?

AB has no power over the team anymore. His act had been exposed. He could either show up and play or not. He would be fined or suspended for each detrimental act. He'd be on his own in the locker room if he showed up and kept being an *******.

Sorry, but the steelers did not have to trade AB for such a small amount.

I would rather carry him on the roster and eat the cap money and have him sit home than get this pittance in return and send the message that the steeler organization is no longer to be taken seriously.

The Raiders have 3 ******* 1st rounders and you can't get one of them for a hall of famer in his prime?

Steelers just got played by the Raiders.

Do you really think the FO just gave up and gave him away? NOBODY was giving a first round pick for a player the Steelers HAD to get rid of. NOBODY. They had no leverage and took what they could get to get him out of the organization. There was never an option of him returning to the team after what was said and done. Not in a million years.

You are operating under the assumption that they HAD to trade AB. That's totally false. The Steelers panicked because they have no leadership in the organization.

First they allowed this situation to fester almost as if they were afraid to discipline a player.

Colbert is not a GM. He's middle management. Everybody in the steeler organization is middle management waiting for somebody competent to tell them what to do.
 
Addition by subtraction. It is about what I expected. I am just glad he has gone so we can move on.
 
Colbert should be fired....NO WAY THERE WAS NOT A CHANCE TO GET A NUMBER 1 AT SOME POINT

Brown was NEVER coming back to the Steelers. What option did Colbert have but to get rid of him for whatever they could get? Nobody is going to give the farm for a player that everyone but Steelers fans KNOWS the Steelers had to get rid of. Rooney would also have to approve of this trade as well...but sure, Brown could come back, everyone could sing kumbaya and pretend this never happened. Never mind the ENORMOUS distraction you would give your team all season long.
