"Affirmative Action" initiatives in the business and trades have created a level playing field (no pun intended) but have also opened the doors for corruption, substandard products & services and poor craftmanship. This causes not only animosity in say contractors whose bidding is placed behind a "minority contractor" given preference but other "minorities" whose work, service or finished product is far more superior. In some cases the awardee's work costs run over budget and time, they are disqualified for one reason or another and a secondary contractor is hired to finish or repair substandard work at additional cost to the owner, municipality, developer etc.
Here's a novel approach, hire the best qualified for a job and we stop using "persons of color" in this demented game of race pimping? Jagoffs who set someone up for failure because of their skin color should be beaten about the head and shoulders with a Louisville Slugger fer crissakes!
