Steelers organization dug their own grave

Except talent like Bell and Brown do not come and go.
Todd Haley said in a radio show Brown and Bell were the two hardest workers on the team, and Brown was the hardest worker he's ever coached.

That may be completely true but it doesn't make them any less batshit crazy as well as being two-faced *********.

You got you're wish with the 2019 Steelers,
From the killer bees to the joke of the league in 2 years or less,
People will realize what was lost when the Steelers get punked by the Browns this year.

Melodramatic much?

The Steelers will be a better team without MeVeon and Mr. Big Chest. We will survive just fine without them. We seemed to do just fine before they arrived and we will after they’re gone.
All three distractions are now about to be all gone and the last one standing is Tomlin who should be on a short leash.
I think we’re taking steps in the right direction and once we can expose **** for brains Tomlin for the fraud that he is, it’s complete.

Post of the month. Art Rooney II comes across as a soft-spoken man afraid to use the hammer of change he has. He might be allowing his image " the Rooney Rule " to usurp what's best for the team.

Here's the truth, years from now when Ben has retired, fans will look back and say what if Rooney fired Tomlin while Ben was playing well? Yep, we all know it.

Lol....Ridiculous. Art2 knows more about the business than you could gather in 5 lifetimes. “Soft spoke afraid to use the hammer”. Please. He’s an attorney, was counselor to his own firm before taking over the team from his father. Being an attorney has taught him that a wise man listens while a fool prattles. He’s presided over the team for 3 SBs. As for the Rooney Rule, that was Dan’s creation and why it was dubbed in his name, not Art2.

By your logic, there would be no SB win in 2008 or appearance in 2010.

I too used to drink the kool-aid to the extent that I was convinced I would never see the Steelers be subjected to the type of dysfunction we've seen in recent years, but at some point you have to admit that something is fundamentally broken.

It hasn't just been the issues with Brown, Bell and Bryant, but is also reflected in veterans like Harrison, Blount and Burnett wanting the **** out.

Do not get me wrong, Art II is a far superior owner to the greedy POS that owns the Pirates, but it seems like the apple may fallen a bit too far from the tree here.

Now, I do not think he is directly responsible for this **** show, as Tomlin has been the main enabler, IMO, but his refusal to acknowledge what a disaster Tomlin has become and make the change is squarely on him.

What exactly has the traditional Steelers way gotten us over the past 8 years other than wasting superior offensive talent and a defense that is among the top of the league in sacks every season?

Blount and Burnett were rentals. Only Harrison was what I would call a veteran. Other than that, I think you comments are on target.

Sad day for Steelernation. i know there are alot of fans with the "company men" attitude, But losing Bell and Brown.
Game over
I hope they both stay in the AFC and get crushed by Pittsburgh. Just to remind Steeler fans how much they depended on Ben and the OL.

Fixed it for you.

You wish. Lighten up, Francis.

New England just won a SB without anyone NEAR the talent level of Bell or Brown. Almost every back we have plugged in when Bell was hurt has done almost equally as well as Bell.
All of that hard work and nothing to show for it. A good TEAM will beat a bunch of great individuals every single time.
**** those cheaters

Uh... Antonio was playing in the game where the Browns tied the Steelers and Conner had a record day that pretty much evened out with most of Bells single game record stats from the last year or two.

So... I'm not really sure what you're getting at. Other than you have a ginormous hard-on for a back who's about as good at Conner and Antonio Brown, admittedly a great receiver. There's no other way to look at it than that Brown WILL be missed on the field. However his antics will NOT be missed off the field.

what has hurt the STEELERS. is there lack of defense, arrogant offense that can't score like they should. and terrible game planning. Not sure it has so much to do with the players. Won in the past, with less.

Has everything to do with the players.

Steelers would likely get plunked by the Browns anyway. They are building a good team up there in Cleveland, whether SteelerNation admits it or not.

Where is this “people not realizing what we have” coming from?

The fans LOVED Bell and Brown when they were both on the field. We know exactly what they bring to the table. And the Steelers set the WR market with the contract they gave AB, so obviously they see his value too. And they tried to pay Le’Veon and he **** on them. So nobody is failing to show appreciation to these guys. Their situations are 100% their own doing

Forgive me for pointing out the obvious... But it's not like we were in the super bowl every other year before Tomlin arrived either. And don't feed me the franchise QB line. You asked what the traditional steeler way got us over the past 8 years, what did it give us the past 39 years?

It's not easy to get to the super bowl, but to get there, you have to make the playoffs, something we are rarely not in contention for. No team is perfect, ours included. So this entitled "but we're Pittsburgh" attitude that so many fans have is ridiculous.

Brown was my favorite player, but we will survive losing him. As long as we have Ben under center, we'll always have a fighters chance

Bell's gone. Brown's going. Great.

But praise the Lord, at least the Steelers still have their fearless leader, Mike Tomlin. As long as he's on the sideline, they'll always have a fighter's chance...

To get knocked out of the playoffs by losing to a ****** team like Oakland.

Absolutely.

Only a complete idiot would trade Bell's production costing 17 Million for Connor's production at 500k knowing how badly we needed a defensive playmaker last season.

Didn't we do exactly that for a couple of years there? We had a marshmallow defense but the killer B's owned TOP and won?! ... much like offensive leaning teams such as the Pats and Brady have done in the past.

Bell draws coverage away from AB, Bell slows down the pass rush significantly, and Bell runs well against top 10 defenses. Conner did none of those things last year. True, Connor had only 2 shots at top defenses, but when we did, Conner got busted, not badly but clearly busted. Would anyone here admit that NONE of the opposing defenses are game-planning against Conner? they're not scared of him- Bell on the other hand

At what point do you say screw loyalty, my mind is telling me the problem is the organization and not the players. How many star and non-star players have to leave pissed-off until you can look within yourself and emotionally reach that conclusion. Hines, Troy, Faneca, Parker, Wallace, Deebo, Bryant, Hood, Sanders, AB, Bell, Kreider, etc. etc. etc. Jesus Christ.

The team will perform without them.....watch and see. Two guys who did everything they could to undermine the team in order to achieve personal accolades. They both have loser mentalities and the team will thrive after they are gone. Good riddance!

Cowher got the Steelers at least a first round bye and/or an AFC title game every 2-3 years on average. Tomlin struggles to make the playoffs basically every year.

By the "Steelers way," I'm primarily referring to this excessive advocacy of the status quo and stability to the point of having this blind loyalty to a coach who has been ******** the bed for years now.

You can try to dismiss the significance of a franchise QB, but there's no ******* way Tomlin wins as many games as Cowher did with O'Donnell and Stewart.

Hines was 34 or 35, Faneca left because he didn't like the blocking scheme that was going on, I totally agreed with him, but we some how won the Super Bowl the year after he left with the worse Oline ever. Parker was done, Wallace wanted way to much money, we offered him a good deal and turned it down, Bryant and Hood really? One is a pot head that can't stay off the drugs, the other was a **** player. **** AB and Bell, AB is an oversensitive me first cry baby, Bell was offered a deal that would've made him the highest paid RB by a mile. Kreider? really.

Ummmm you do realize with Connor supposedly not taking coverage away from AB, that AB and JuJu both had 1000 yards, and AB still had 15 TD's? Leveon in 2017 averaged 4 ypc, and didn't have a run over 27 yards. You'll see what kind of player he is when he doesn't have any other weapons around him.

The team made every reasonable effort to sign Bell. Highest paid RB simply wasn't good enough. AB is a generational talent but I defy any organization to deal with the bullshit he has pulled over the past couple years and culminating in the past two months. I dont know if he was always like that or he just blew up in the last couple. He was so good I dont blame them for keeping his bullshit quiet. They are in a rebuild now. I just wish there was another coach to lead it. How they didn't remove Tomlin after this **** show is beyond me.
