Devin Bush

I am for picking DB's, I just disagree with who they picked.

2016. They picked Burns, I wanted X Howard.
2018. They picked Edwards, I wanted J. Reid.

Top free agent DB's cost a ton. Look how much a mediocre one like Morgan Burnett cost. M

So, again, what makes you think they will pick the right one THIS time?

stop. you praised Burns after his first season. Just stop with this selective revisionist history you continue to regurgitate on the board.
and let it be known, no one on this board gives a flying **** WHO YOU wanted to draft. No One.
we have who we have, and I'm sure Colbert puts in more film study than a guy who determines his opinion based on trips to the bar and who pff says is "the next great thing".

STOP. I clearly said I would have taken X Howard and Burns had a lot of question marks in his game. If you don't care who I liked, why bother replying? I was 100% correct.

I also did a snap by snap analysis on all of Burns targets. Check the archives. What I will agree with you on is Colbert and his scouts spend a lot of time, far more than me on this. So how come they miss more than I do? I must be very very lucky, right?

The Steelers better start drafting DB's better.

You got me. Tomlin was supposedly the expert on DB's. Maybe that is part of the problem?

Will they get one right? I will say that I find the cornerback position the most difficult to evaluate as the scheme and level of competition a draft prospect plays it doesn't always show enough NFL type of throws a corner will need to defend.

I'd put a premium on ball skills, and speed first. Do not pick a slot only corner type in round one or 2. And please no smurfs, or stiffs, or low IQ types in rounds 1 or 2.

Bullshit fabricated statement. You have been wrong many of times on your "guesses".And if you like 20 prospects good chances you will be right on one.

This is your biggest issue, your crazy love for your own draft analysis that is based on 99% of what you read..

I usually let most of your bullshit statements fly by. But coach you are being ridiculous.

that's my whole point. for whatever reason, they have not excelled at picking CB's. Why do we expect that to change. One year we picked 3 players who showed good ability in college to get ints. 2 never played a down for us and the other just got injured in his first game in the AAF. Not one of them made it in the NFL. They did go after ball hawks. Bad luck for one and who knows for Grant. The other was a 7th round safety, so couldn't have expected a whole lot, but, something would have been nice.

In general, I disagree about a slot corner in the 2nd. While, not, necessarily ideal, if you need a slot corner and there is a good one there, there are enough packages where this could be considered a "starter".

But then we are back to "why would you expect them to take a good one this time".

None of the websites are offering much at this point in time. If you want a Coach original, I was the guy who said Ed Oliver has inside linebacker skills...and other sites are now saying the same thing a few months later based on seeing him on film.

Coach original......Oliver has ILB ability. Other sites are saying the same thing.

Links please......plus your original post stating Oliver is a ILB.

Amazing how one says he is so meticulous in his assessments of various players, yet has nothing....nothing to prove it was his own assessment.

10 minutes of tape?........Seriously?......when have you performed professional evaluations? Never heard you talking about having prior experience in the field, or published findings of reviews. What is the reason as to why your opinion is worth clout? You have shown nothing to prove it is your own.

you are not the only one that wanted Xavier Howard but you don't hear me (or the rest of us) repeating it at every chance to make myself feel better than ...

Do you always expect a pat in the back or something?

I have no idea why you think who you wanted mattered. What matters is who they pick. you are OBVIOUSLY, displeased with who they picked. Suddenly, they will pick the "right" guy this time. Because....?

Also, we all know you praised the Burns pick, I found the comment and posted in another thread.

Again, **** Reid. Burnett was a FA good target. He was better at GB than he played for us.

Any FA worth their salt is gonna cost $, regardless of position, CB will cost more than ILB. IIRC

We can get a good starting caliber ILB in the draft. I don't think we can get a starting caliber CB.. Therefore, the upgrade to their respective units suggests that the CB FA and drafted ILB will be an overall better (and I believe significantly better) upgrade to the team and their respective units than a drafted CB and FA ILB. The 2nd way might cost you less, but the savings is not worth the decrease in quality of the results.

Looking back at the Burnett signing threads, you didn't have anything negative to say about him, then.

One poster commented about him getting injured and missing games. Wanna guess who that was?

I do an annually who I would have drafted right after the draft. Things change as more information comes in, but that was my final call. If you doubt me, I can re-post it here. Let me know!

I'm sure other fair minded posters will remember me saying Howard over Burns.

Burnett was decent.Key word was/ Obviously he's broken down now. I'd like to see the medical report on him before the Steelers signed him. Maybe then people would not have liked him as much.

Ladarius Green? Remember that flake? I didn't like that move. Nor did I like giving Willams an extension.

Neither of those are Dbs.....therefore irrelevant
