Are the Chiefs now are target location for Bell?

I would hate to see the Ravens dump Flacco and sign Bell. with how they play defense, having Jackson and belle to worry about would suck

****, I'd like nothing more. One overpriced for another overpriced,............keeps them from getting REAL players and as for Jackson.......why are you so feared of him??? Running "small" QBs don't last long in the nfl and BELL is not far from being irrelevant.

Bell would be huge upgrade for them. He fits their formula quite well. Play great defense and run the ball. checking down to bell in that offense is something I don't want to work about

In this scenario he would be a Division Bell per Pink Floyd.

I really believe the Steelers have the mindset to apply the transition tag on LevBell. Wouldn’t be a bit surprised to see them match the offer to him since I think Rooney,Colbert and Tomlin don’t want to loose him, especially to a team in their division.

Not so sure of that. It should be interesting to see how this concludes in the off season. As much of a selfish player he still is s unique talent that doesn’t come around too often.

KC doesn't have the cap space like the Colts and Jets do and they need to rebuild a defense.

The Steelers, should definitely keep Bell, it was not his fault that there were no new plays were written for him in the past playoffs.

What are you talking about? And your very first post at that?

KC has 44M in cap space next year, and I'm not sure if that includes the rollover from this year. If not, tack on another $5M. They don't pay a QB yet (still on rookie salary), so they can afford whoever they want.

And yes, Reid does pay for RBs. He gave 2nd contracts to Shady and Westbrook. Those guys were athletic 3-down workhorses. Bell fits that bill. Bell would do really well in KC.

If I were them I would pay for defense.. Their offense is fine. They can pick up pieces in the draft and bring in some good defensive FAs. Picking up Bell makes no sense. Seriously, how many more points are they going to score with Bell? If they have money left over they can sure up some of their own players getting close to FA. I haven't looked at their roster but I'm sure the money can be better spent on something besides Bell.

Heck Vader, let them get BELL as then soon they will be in "cap" hell. Screw them making themselves better, I want them to become worse in the long run and that would be by addition of (hopefully) cap heavy BELL.

This entire posts sounds like another team we all know.

KC has to sign Dee Ford which will cost them 15 mil per year and then they have 2 other starters on D as UFA's.
They wouldn't have the cap space to pursue Bell.

We shall see what Bell's value is. I'm hoping its below what the Steelers offered.

Ed dickwad from the Gazette says if they transition him, that if the Steelers want to trade him they can't do it to the team that offered him a contract. I am assuming they would trade him for whatever they could get at that point. But wasn't aware it couldn't be to the offering team.

I think BELL took a risk and that risk back-fired. We will soon find out his market value and I'm curious to see what the STEELERS do and what compensation they will get. Transition tag will cost 9.5mil or close to that so if BELL can't get another offer better he may chose to stay put with the steelers........................... Doubtful but it is within reality.

Wouldn't the Steelers have to pay the signing bonus, if they matched and tried to trade?

Yes, the STEELERS are on the hook for 21+ million as for signing bonus if you are reffering to AB. I don't know of any signing bonus that BELL has incurred. He forgoes last season so there wasn't any signing bonus negotiated. As for this current year about to start March 5 ( I think) I highly doubt the STEELERS are going to give him a bonus to sign the tag.

Actually this could get interesting? If Steelers tag and Bell gets a Gurley type contract, 60 million over 4 years with 20 mil as signing bonus.
I believe Steelers would have to pay the 20 mil bonus, but then they would have Bell to trade and the receiving team would only pay Bell
40 mil over 4 years, 10 mil per year. How much is Bell then worth in a trade? At least a 1st and another high pick.

The Steelers would have to be willing to pay 20 mil or more to acquire 2 high draft picks. Most likely 1 in 2019 and 1 in 2020.
The Steelers might not think that 20 mil is too high a price, since 14.5 was Bell's salary saved from last year.
