Anyone honestly believe the Steelers aren't talented enough to take down one SB in the last three years? What does that tell you.

I think that had Cowher had the reigns to this point we'd have several more Lombardis than we have now. Tomlin has had among the better rosters over his span and produced one Lombardi with a team that Cowher built. That same team coasted to the loss against the Pack in 10. Since then? Bupkus. Tomlin. Loaded roster. Lots of clichés. No hardware.

Yes, the years were wasted by a young man who brought nothing to the table, doesn't understand the game, and as the result can't return on the investment in the talent he was given to develop.

The scary thing is that he hasn't progressed. In fact, he seems to be regressing. They will never fire him because of the obvious reason(s). So we will wait until he retires. That will be a LONG time because he seems to like the gig, it pays well, and he's content with mediocrity..

You fail to embrace the motivational genius that IS Mike Tomlin.

Until the Steelers ownership takes the necessary steps to eradicate the culture of permissiveness that has been allowed to fester, there can never be anything other than the debacles we've seen recently.
It's become too egregious to ignore.

**** the Cowher angle anymore. **** Tomlin also. The ******* players need to want to win. Belicheat gave all credit,to the players after the game. They make the plays.

Here is my hope.

Yes we are the franchise that never fires head coaches. We stay the course. 3 coaches in 3 centuries. Blah dee blah dee blah.

They need cause to move on from Tomlin. My hope is that Tomlin's already got situations on his hands that are beginning to look like the Steelers will ultimately be forced to decide - Tomlin or the Franchise. Those situations emanating from the locker room. Losing Antonio Brown. Ben's behavior. On and on. It will be really hard for Rooney to continue to have faith in a head coach that can't control the locker room. This is becoming apparent. The ESPN report about Brown was damning to Tomlin.

If this trend continues they'll have to make a decision.

"Ben's behavior"?
Oh, you mean those 5,126 yards?

Tomlin will never be confused as a football genius to dismantle the teams in front of them, to take away their strengths. He believes to go mano y mano and the best team will win. Bellichek looks at football as strategy and to get the advantage after his opponent makes a mistake. Took care of Mahomes and Goff, both were the conferences elite passers for most of the year. They were little factors in their games. I just don't think Tomlin has the great football mind to approach the game like this. I don't know if he has the "it" to get back to the SB. He has the players, but with that BB does with his team is mind-blowing. I didn't think the Rams OL would have gotten blown up like they did. Besides Hightower, I don't more than a few players on their D. It's all system and the parts working together. Ticks me off how he makes it work.

You honestly believe that NE would win the super bowl if Tomlin coached them?

This is now 99% Tomlin's team. Everyone but the QB are "his" guys and he is unlikely to replace the QB with one as good. This year 9-6-1. Last year 13-3 but only four last-minute FG's away from being 9-7. Shades is a 8-8 to 10-6 head coach when he owns everything. It's just who he is. Obviously.

Probably not but if the 2 passes Goff threw in the EZ on two different drives were caught instead of dropped it just might have made a difference. Players have to make the plays.

I thought the first one in the back of the EZ was a late pass and a ******* duck to boot. On time, that’s an easy 7. I Agree. Players have to make plays.

Yes they do, but they also have to be put in the correct position to make plays.
You can't blame Bostic or Williams for not being able to cover Keenan Allen, if players have to make plays, then they shouldn't get beat.
Or when you're on the goal line and you only use 2 DLINEMEN, hard for players to make plays.

There are also times where the players have to make plays, the Goff throw is definitely one of them.

Why is this the Steeler's disfunction? Why isn't this the entire AFC's disfunction for not being able to beat the Pats in the playoffs?
Because this is a Steelers message board, I'm assuming you'll find similar things on other message boards.

Unequivocally NO.

As previous regime players left the current regime has sunken at the same rate of player departure. It wasn't because of lack of talent but more so the lack of coaching guidance and the lackadaisical attitude that followed.

Salute the nation

Well, he can't very well say, "I just want to thank Ernie Adams for getting those calls out to Tom and McCourty today. Really top notch effort from the top down."
