Doubt Steelers would go RFA route. Not their style. A good list though. I prefer Mosley as he seems to be the healthier of the bunch. And I think he easily upgrades the position. Our luck the rats will resign him.

He could replace Vince, or be better than Bostic, but if we want an ILB that can cover, i don't think he is it.

RFAs all depend on what the tender offer is. Smith was a 4th rounder..is he worth one? Littleton would be very tempting, being he was a UDFA. Being a pro-bowler this year upped his tender significantly though.

Then you double up and draft a ILber coverage capable too. As it could be argued the team needs two ILBer upgrades anyways.

I think Vince is fine when he has a more capable guy next to him. He was doing pretty well, IIRC, before shazier went down. Moseley would be better than Bostic, at least, so should upgrade Williams play, too. I dont know which ILB position Moseley has been playing, though. I think Moseley has been wearing the green dot since his rookie year. If so, that should up the football smarts.

I understand the “Black and Gold” term but seeing the ACTUAL colors of our uniforms are Black and YELLOW, why not move on and call it what it is? For gold uniform reference, turn your TV on tomorrow afternoon and look at the Saints uniforms.

Been through this debate a 100 times,................look the OFFICIAL COLOR up of the Pittsburgh Steelers

Steelers GOLD
Pantone: PMS. 1235
Hex color: #FFB612
RGB: (255, 182, 18)

Vince shouldn´t be playing next to anyone, at least as an ILB, put another man on the line (FA), play D with 4 up front. Then your three LBs would be Watt, Vince and White/Mack from the draft as the Mike LB . Vince is solid against the run and rush capable, he would play better there as a Sam LB

It has always been Black N Gold.

The flag of Pittsburgh is colored with black and gold, based on the colors of William Pitt's coat of arms; Pittsburgh is the only city in the United States in which all professional sporting teams share the same colors. The city's first National Hockey League (NHL) franchise, the Pittsburgh Pirates were the first to wear black and gold as their colors. The colors were adopted by founder of the Pittsburgh Steelers, Art Rooney, in 1933. In 1948, the Pittsburgh baseball Pirates switched their colors from red and blue to black and gold. Pittsburgh's second NHL franchise, the Pittsburgh Penguins, wore blue and white, due to then-general manager Jack Riley's upbringing in Ontario. In 1979, after the Steelers and Pirates had each won their respective league championships, the Penguins altered their color scheme to match, despite objections from the Boston Bruins.[3][4]

Just because a rapper saw a marketing opportunity and changed his song up from talking about his car to the Steelers, can't change history.

Nor should it.

It is bad enough Heinz field plays the song over and over and over again.

Rats are going to have trouble keeping both Mosley smith after how they played and the market for dual lb's like them. I see them keeping cj at a very high cost and unwilling to perhaps offer Smith a 6 mill a year, he and dud were teamates both played a mix of stand up LB and 2 stance De I would love him, Pernell Mcphee and Landon Collins, Collins replaces Burnett and let Edmunds and Davis compete we also need a depth wr if we trade AB a guy like Hogan would be a upgrade of what hunter has to offer.

Anthony Barr is worth considering. Heck, we're going to really pay Dupree $9M when Barr is probably actually worth that? Marcus Golden from AZ, Shaq Barrett from DEN, OLB sure has some options. Sadly, ILB and CB are not very deep this year.

I would be on board with Barr. Golden is pretty tenacious as well. One guy that may fly under the radar is Cory Littleton. Dude has a lot of athleticism, and is very rangy. So far though durability has been a little iffy, if I’m not mistaken. Guys also been all over the place against the Saints today, and has done a solid job covering Kamara out of the backfield. Would love to entertain this notion.

Mosley is not the best in coverage, and he's kind of like having another Timmons. He's a playmaker. He can get INTs, force fumbles, and knows where he's supposed to be. That's what you take, a playmaker over a shutdown coverage LB.

Clowney and Ford are both projected in the 16 mil per year market value range. Don't see the Steelers paying that.

To go after ZaDarius Smith, Steelers would likely need to decline Buds option first.

Barr offer 12 mill over 4 52 million 25 mill guaranteed, let Dupree go draft in rnd 1 ILB Bush to replace Bostic and in mid rnds add a 4-3 under pentreating DT
that way in base you can have heyward hargrave tuitt watt bush Williams barr
nickel a mix of DE barr De heyward DT hargrave DE Chick/rookie olb way mlb bush lb edmunds

They almost have to ditch that $9m offer.

Littleton got burned so many times yesterday I lost count.

is 9.8 the option for bud?

I think a little perspective here could be useful. Covering Kamara on swing passes with Brees' pinpoint accuracy is arguably the most difficult task on the field. Littleton was a step or two behind, but actually limited an incredibly explosive player to 8.7 yards per reception, with his ability to make up ground and prevent big plays. On a weekly basis, he would not be asked to cover a talent close to Kamara. I'm interested to see how he performs vs. White in the SB.

Steelers held him to only 20.5 yards per catch,.....

even with 20.5 ypc against us, Kamara's average was 8.8 for the season, so I don't know that keeping him to 8.7 ypc is indicative of doing a "good job". Kamara is an explosive player. OTOH quite a few games he was well under 8.7 ypc. some quite a bit over and some near the average.

Good point on the season average. But I would also suggest that "limiting" Kamara to what could have been much worse contributed to the Rams' win. Not saying Littleton is the end all be all, but to claim he was toasted as if he is Vince Williams out there is a bit much. As for Litteton's game, I'm much more concerned that he does not appear to be a classic wrap - squeeze - drive tackler (my personal preference for an LB), than I am about his coverage skills.

Barr has less sacks than Dupree with an extra year played. I thought we wanted a pressure OLB.

can we trade Fu and a 4th rounder to Cincy for William Jackson III??

So Barr has been a 4-3, OLB in MN. When he came out of UCLA, he was thought to be an ideal fit as a backside 3-4, OLB. The guy demonstrated the requisite bend in college. He is now a very well rounded LB with untapped pass rush potential, which makes him far preferable to Bud "no more upside" Dupree.
