James Harrison post in the middle of the presser

At that time you had time to develop them, Ben wasn't at end of his window. With a leaky D and already down a WR (as opposite AB blew this year despite the Steelers being good at evals), you would have to develop not one but two in a arguably a two year window.

I like your enthusiasm but I would rather the team concentrate on fixing the D.

And special teams, You know where the bigger problems exist.

AB is a malcontent and the locker room is toxic. Does anybody not know why they are at home right now? Why they look unfocused? It's because of the atmosphere and culture in the locker room. Next year will be no different if AB stays. They aren't winning SBs with AB. They've won what? 3 playoff games with him? It's time to move on.

Worth embedding, friggin' hilarious, thanks slash.

not buying that at all.

If you think his tantrums, sulking, and missing of meetings did not play a role in this season then I don't know what to tell you. I just assumed it was obvious.

Deebo has done nothing but poison the well in Pittsburgh since he left. The fact AB would choose to 'hang' with him during Tomlin's presser, and pimp themselves on Instagram is beyond forgivable. AB and Deebo are literally mocking the Rooneys, Tomlin and the entire organization. What a slap in the face for all Steelers fans. **** those guys, ungrateful sons of *******.

I think Harrison is a simple man and he lost all respect for Tomlin due to Tomlin not keeping his word about playing time. I do not feel Harrison handled the situation well, but Tomlin did not either. When something pops up Harrison just adds more fuel to the fire. You have Harrison, Clark, Bradshaw, and I forget which HOFer recently speaking out against Tomlin. Whether it is deserved or not all of the rumors / drama create tension. For the sake of the team I think it is just time to start over.

After listening to players say they had no clue that Brown was not playing on Sunday, James compare us to the Kardashians, it seems to me that Tomlin is not straight forward with his players. Seems like it is all smoke and mirrors with him and the way he treats his players. The whole AB situation is like he tried to sweep it under the rug and hide it from everyone. I wonder if Bouchette didn't break the story whether the public would know anything about Brown or whether that would have been allowed to fester into next year as well.

Silly me here I thought ****** D scheme, ****** special teams, ****** free agent decisions, ****** game adjustments, ****** challenges, ****** time management, sitting on Bell's money, was the obvious.

Well they sure aren't at home because of lack of talent. They have players and ex players complaining about the locker room and the way things are ran. It sure as hell isn't helping and if you can't see the lack of focus and attention to detail stemming from this than I can't help that.

Yep, these former steeler greats aren't ALL wrong or have an ax to grind with Tomlin. Where there's smoke there's fire.

I see lack of focus and things running ******, but I am not using AB as the donkey. I pin the tail on Tomlin.

AB is the festering fungus that was allowed to spread through locker room culture. It isn't like we are talking about one player of fail here.

With Tomlin's track record to we really want to pin AB ?

It doesn't have to be mutually exclusive. It can be both. AB took advantage of the atmosphere that was allowed by Tomlin. Tomlin allowed all this crap to take place. Nothing wrong with getting rid of both of them.

Also nothing wrong with getting rid of the coach that developed these issues, and see if a new one can put a lid on AB.

Then if he can't no harm no foul you trade AB then.

The other variable is whether the players will accept him back into the locker room. Quitting on your team us usually not easily forgiven by teammates.

They wanted Bell back and he was a tool too,

Bell held out over money, but nobody ever said he was a locker room cancer. Huge difference between what Bell did and what Brown in doing.

Sure about this?

I'm with Vader on this. Does Tomlin deserve blame for his inability to control a locker room? Yes. Does Tomlin develop a team atmosphere where his players appear to buy in? Absolutely not.

But, it doesn't excuse AB's decisions to behave like a jackass. I give no credibility to the "you should have stopped me from being a jackass sooner" as an excuse for being a jackass. AB owns his conduct, completely. Tomlin owns his failures. There's more than enough to go around.

AB needs to get drug tested by the league, his actions this year show definite signs of a serious mood change towards aggression. I wouldn't doubt him crushing some new performance enhancing substance that may or may not yet be banned...or it could just be lady problems, or 15 kids driving him over the edge. His attitude just seems to keep growing and growing. Crazier and crazier, wth?

Yep, but if ya hangin' with Silverback that triggers an automatic "random" test.

Sorry, but if James Harrison is calling the Steelers the Kardashians, wouldn’t that make him Bruce/ K—- Jenner?

Yes as he is acting like a ***** made fruitcake ever since he didn't get his way.

He is no different than AB and Bell.

All three are class A problem childs.

Thought this was a good article and good reminder for everyone.

Paul Zeise: James Harrison is ungrateful and has a short memory

James Harrison is one of the greatest Steelers defensive players of all time, but he has become a mildly amusing clown act and a social media bully. He seems to have a short memory and should probably just walk away from his attacks on Mike Tomlin and the Steelers.

This is a guy who takes to Instagram to preach about family and brotherhood yet seems to forget that loyalty is the top value in any family.

The late Dan Rooney was one of the most beloved members of the Pittsburgh community. But in March 2008, he didn’t exactly distinguish himself with a decision he made related to Harrison. That was when Rooney — and Tomlin, for that matter — made the decision to stand behind Harrison after a domestic violence dispute when he should have been cut loose.

According to police reports at the time, Harrison broke down a door in his girlfriend’s home, snapped her cell phone in half as she attempted to call 911 and slapped her face with an open hand, knocking off her glasses. The charges were eventually dropped after Harrison completed anger management counseling and his girlfriend did not want to prosecute.

About a week and a half later, another Steelers player, Cedrick Wilson, was arrested in a domestic violence incident. The Steelers released Wilson almost immediately, and that prompted a series of questions about why Wilson was released and Harrison was not.

It was clear at the time to anyone paying attention that the real answer was this: “Harrison is a great player who can help us win Super Bowls; Wilson is a ham-and-egger and is easily replaced.”

That answer might have earned Rooney more respect than the one he gave:

“What Jimmy Harrison was doing and how the incident occurred, what he was trying to do was really well worth it,” he said of Harrison’s initial intent with his son. “He was doing something that was good, wanted to take his son to get baptized where he lived and things like that. She said she didn’t want to do it.”

Rooney drew so much criticism that he had to issue a second statement later in the day to try to clarify it. It remains one of the few black marks on Rooney’s resume.

Tomlin and Rooney’s son, Art II, stuck their neck out for Harrison again in 2014 when they signed him after his first retirement. The NFL was under fire at that point after a string of high-profile domestic violence incidents. Art Rooney II was in the midst of investigating Roger Goodell’s handling of the Ray Rice case. Tomlin and the Steelers again took criticism for being “tone deaf” to the climate at the time.

The Steelers had their reasons for standing behind Harrison, no doubt, and most of them had to do with how he could help them win games. But regardless of why the Steelers stuck by Harrison, they did. And there is no James Harrison as we know him if it wasn’t for the Steelers standing behind him and giving him multiple chances throughout his career.

Harrison won a defensive player of the year award, was the Super Bowl hero with his 100-yard interception, made the Pro Bowl four times and was an All-Pro three times all after he should have been cut. He also got to play in last year’s Super Bowl for the Patriots and likely would not have had that opportunity if the Steelers hadn’t brought him off the scrap heap in 2014.

Simply put, he wouldn’t have become the Hall of Fame candidate he is if the Steelers had done the right thing in 2008 and released him.

Despite how things ended in 2017, Harrison owes his entire career to the Rooneys and Tomlin. One would think he would be grateful to them and do everything in his power to protect and defend them.

Instead, there he is on social media clowning around with Antonio Brown and making fun of Tomlin. And there he is on TV ripping Tomlin and talking about how he advised Le’Veon Bell to damage the Steelers by taking the money and faking injuries.

That’s a disgrace.

Harrison put another nonsensical message Thursday on Instagram about family and brotherhood with regards to Brown.

“My love and support for my brothers/family doesn’t stop when I disagree, argue or fight wt them. The fact that I consider you family means just the opposite, I’m there for you,” he wrote.

@AB is my brother - that means family - and to me, a family member is not defined or measured by the deeds they do, the title they hold or the company they work for. My love and support for my brothers/family doesn’t stop when I disagree, argue or fight wt them. The fact that I consider you family means just the opposite, I'm there for you. And I’m allowed - not just allowed - I’m EXPECTED to be there for you and to give you my opinion whether you agree or disagree. And I expect you to give me yours as well. Why is AB hanging wt James Harrison? The same reason that Brett Keisel, Ike Taylor, Ryan Clark, Larry Foote, Ben Roethlisberger, Troy Polamalu, DeAngelo Williams, Ryan Shazier, Vince Williams, and others do... These are my brothers, and brothers shoot the ****! #FaithFamilyFootball. In that order. #HarrisonFamilyValues

That’s rich coming from Harrison given the way he has spit in the face of the family — the Rooneys and Tomlin — that gave him his career and helped make him who he is. And if he truly cared about Brown, he’d take him under his wing and tell Brown the path he is on is the wrong one, and nobody has had his back more than Tomlin, despite Brown’s endless stream of negative incidents.

Harrison’s best move now would probably be to log off and reflect on just how much the Rooneys and Tomlin have done for him.

I don't understand anyone bypassing the majority of the blame to Tomlin instead of AB. I just don't get it.

Brown is a grown man and is in control of his actions. If he doesn't wanna be a Steeler, whatever, get out, but his actions are ridiculous.

For him to be in the Business is Boomin market you'd think the man would be more business inclined. How can he and his agent think any of this is positive? Brands will shy away from Brown because nobody wants to be associated with this type of behavior.

Could Tomlin be a bit stricter, sure, but as a man, AB needs to man up and just say what the ****! If there are other motivates like him wanting to be a 49er or whatever, he would've been better off just asking for a trade. Dumbass.
