How many things had to break badly for the Steelers to miss the playoffs. Missed field goal vs. Cleveland, complete bullshit calls vs. Chargers and New Orleans. Blown call today on a scoop and score by Cleveland. All they needed was 10 more yards to get in field goal range. I bet if you looked at everything it's like one thing in maybe 10 to 15. Most talented team out of the playoffs. Thanks Mike and thanks NFL. **** ya'll.

Mostly ****** coaching mixed with bad luck, bad calls, bad play, low IQ players specifically on defense.

I know but 5000 yards passing 2 1200 yard receivers. Like a lot had to go wrong for them to not be in. The timing and management of Ben's injury vs. Oakland. Grimble's ridiculous fumble vs. Denver. Just goes on and on. **** even today I felt like they would find a way to lose.

Before you go down that road, you would need to apply the same logic for our pull it out of our *** victory over the jags. We had no business winning that week and had a lot of crap go our way in the fourth quarter.

We are what we are. Slightly better than average. That is all.

Look on the bright side. We proved yesterday that we are clearly the 31st best team in the league...by 3 points.

Plus many other games that could of helped. Chargers-Ravens - Gates late fumble. Giants should have beat the Colts. Late pick by Eli.

And did anyone else notice on the 4th and 1 play to Grimble (same play as Denver Game), he put the ball in the wrong hand (again) and is poised to take a hit. SMH.

There is potential for lots of bad breaks when you have an arrogant coach who always thinks “we got this” when we have a lead or start with a strong record. The team gets unfocused, unbuttoned, and loses to teams like Denver and Oakland. We got screwed in other ways yes, but even then, when you are 7-2-1, your best effort the rest of the way should get you into the tournament

The current coaching staff cannot develop defensive talent, and installed a horribly bad defensive scheme. I'm not buying that all of these high round draft picks are busts. Dupree, Davis, and Burns all have the physical skills to start in the NFL.

When the talking heads are saying the EXACT same things many of us on this board have been saying for years, it's time to clean house.

Of the three I'd say Davis is the one that has potential to be much better than he plays. Standing at Tampa two really hurts him. I think he is an in the box safety. Burns lost it mentally. He probably has the physical skill set. But I certainly cannot blame Tomlin for pulling him. Dupree, hahaha. He is terrible. If you go wide enough and the qb stands there for 5 or 6 Mississippi yeah you will get a sack. Anyone see that one play. He was two yards off side and on a free run to the qb blind side and he still ****** up and missed him. Got him around the ankles after. What a loser.

My favorite Dupree play from yesterday was during Watt's strip sack. Ball is rolling around less than a yard away and he stands there with no clue.

Beauty. I saw that too. It's like he tries to suck. Watt is unbelievable and Dupree is unbelievably bad. He is a look like Tarzan plays like Jane.

So you don't see the Dupree improvement from last year? I bet if these Ilbers had a real positional teaching coach instead of a ex player we would see a noticible improvement at the position.

Been wanting them to put Adeniyi in ever since they activated him. What's the worst that can happen, he makes a play? But no, it's more of friggen Bud.

I don't know man.. I think we need to move on from Peezy but Bud is terrible. He's been in the league for a while now and still only has one pass rush move and just don't see improvement.

This is the most disappointing season we've had in a decade. Missed opportunity in a wide open AFC this year.

Dupree is going to get paid $9.232 million next year. I asked in another thread, can we rescind the option because that is a large chunk of the cap locked into a marginal player.

A football team takes on its coach’s persona and that’s what the Steelers are, a direct product of Tomlin.

To me,putting their best efforts against better teams like the Saints and Pats, but dial it down for the hapless Bungals,Raiders,Broncos,Browns tells me all I need to know about what’s wrong. Tomlin!

So true. The Pats lose a tough one to the Dolphins and us but then they come back and **** pump the Bills and Jets. Get a bit of luck and get the two seed and will very likely go to the Conference championship minimum. And if anyone says they have more talent they are liars. That is on Tomlin.

Look at all of the people who said that team is not the same and close to done this year. They got the No. 2 seed in the AFC.

They said Marvin Lewis took his D and simplified it. They got worlds better. That’s coaching to your talent. Perhaps ours could be simplified instead of smoke and mirrors. Play faster with less smoke??
