I just attended my first Steelers game in five years. I had free tickets, $10 food vouchers for each ticket and free parking and I still questioned what the **** I was doing there. I still spent $30 and found it mostly annoying and inconvenient. My wife left for concessions at the beginning of halftime and didn’t get back until late third quarter. WTF? Why spend several hundred dollars for that **** when you can watch it on TV.

This is the first year I didn’t travel to attend a game in a long time. I may never again. The garbage on the field week after week is not worth a dime of my hard earned money or anyone else’s IMO.
The end of the browns game was more exciting than anything on the field at Heinz today.

It’s been a few years for me since I’ve lived in Texas. I don’t think I could see myself paying a bunch of money and spending a whole day out in the elements out of the comfort of my home supporting this team when I know they are just going to disappoint and underachieve. **** them

Some fans love that stadium environment, interacting with other fans. And tailgating can be fun too.

Nobody forced you to eat there. Eat something small before going to the stadium. Get drinks, and then afterwards do as I do...go somewhere to eat.

Places to park that don't cost a lot of you don't mind a little walking.

And tickets can often be had at cost if you look hard enough.

I enjoy home and going to the games.

In reality wherever you go you will need to spend money.

I used to go to 1 game a year but I stopped in 1999. After that, I would go when I got free tickets but have not been to a game since 2013. I just follow baseball more now.

Damn you’re a cheap SOB.

My first game was a scab game in 1987 and loved it. The playoff game in 1994 was unreal. I had a great time watching when Steelers came into Tampa this year.

Instead of bitching at good fortune of free tickets- take a moment and gain perspective about what really matters. You sound like a prototypical spoiled millennial.

well, that explains a lot

Because there is nothing like the atmosphere of being in the stadium. Tailgate beforehand and just get drinks from the vendors once the game starts.

Millennial? No, I’m a month away from my 50th birthday and my first Steelers game predates yours by almost a decade. I could afford to attend every Steelers home game but I understand the value of a dollar and can’t make sense of why anyone would choose to spend their time and money doing so.

Live games are just not for some people. It's just the way it is.

I go to every game they play in Houston...used to be each season when they were in the same conference with Houston

Nothing like watching thousands of Steeler fans take over the Houston stadium

as for concessions...I tailgate pregame and don't need snacks during the game...just a few beers when the beer guy comes around........

Tailgates you can liquor up before you go in, will save some money if you are a drinker...

I've been going to games since I was 7 years old and I still have a blast. A lot of great season ticket holders around me and the stadium atmosphere is something I love, especially after a big win. The atmosphere as well as the emotional highs and lows you get from going to the games is what it's all about for me.

Next time give them to me. I will take them off your hands. Some of us that live outside of Pitt can only dream of being there and taking it all in.

because it's fun? interestingly enough, this season was the first time i went to an NFL game that didn't feature the Steelers; went to the colts-raiders game out in Oakland when i was visiting an old Army buddy and his family back at the end of October. His in-laws are Raiders season tix holders (club level), had a good ol' time, especially since the colts ruined everyone's day lol

This is the first year in over a decade that I didn't make it to a game. We've traveled to St. Louis, Tennessee twice, Indy multiple times and to Pittsburgh a few times as well. When they play in Detroit we always go since it's only a couple hours away. For the first time in a while the underperforming got to me this season. That, and my schedule at work not allowing for it.

If the Rooney's don't find a way to get some defensive help with the money they saved on Bell then it'll be a Hell of a lot longer. While it's always great to see Nation members wherever we go, and to tailgate like we live there when we play in Pittsburgh, enough is enough with the bullshit underachieving. I work too hard for my money, if the ownership doesn't give a damn, why should I?
