I've been slammed over the last few years for not being a Tomlin fan. But, now it seems that a lot of you all are done with him, or at least not sure of him anymore.

So, why the change now? Why were you so long in holding out for him? What was the moment you changed your mind?

Serious question.

Chargers game, LB covering a WR, all game. It’s time.

Not to mention losing v Denver and Oakland

I’ve been unsure for a couple years now but these last two seasons did it for me. It all started with AB videoing the locker room before the patriots game in the playoffs. It told me the players didn’t respect him and he had no control of them. The last couple seasons have shown huge flaws in his lack of coaching, has no clue about Xs and Os. He refuses to get help with time management and challenges which is mind boggling and I blame Rooney for not correcting this for him. This whole season has been a **** show though and I’m done.

AJ calls bullshit on this thread!

Losing to 2 win teams did it finally. Though some of us have been talking about Mikey Sunglasses record against subpar teams for years. But on the bright side there will be no let down going one and done in the playoffs.

I’ve been off Tomlin for a few years now as well. I started out a huge Tomlin supporter. In the 2012 season I started noticing that we had trouble “getting up” for games with bad teams (some games that year AND looking back to the prior year with hindsight as well).. I’m sure if you find my old posts you’ll see me bitching because I was pissed about it back then

2013 and 2014 were def rebuilding years in hindsight, but the .500 records were definitely making me frustrated then. I think I fell off the cliff with the 0-4 start. There was no excuse for that. By then I was fully in “we underachieve and are way too inconsistent - what is wrong with this coach?” mode

2015 was a good bounce back year, Ben had an outstanding year, and the only reason we lost in the playoffs was too many injuries to overcome. I was starting to warm back up

The *s playoff game in 2016 pushed me COMPLETELY back over the edge. It revealed him for who he is

The cockiness that he brought in 2017 from an AFCCG appearance from the prior year, overlooking opponents and then overlooking AN ENTIRE PLAYOFF GAME, was the nail in the coffin for me

Then this year my blood has been boiling with rage as I’ve been completely off Tomlin for so long and just banging my head against the wall at seeing him make the same mistakes and have the same flaws I started noticing in 2012 (and actually started in 2011 I just didn’t realize it was a “thing” yet back then). I mean, how anyone can be an observant fan of this team and still support him after the Raiders game, I have no idea.

He is completely inept to get us to the promised land, and most of it is due to an inability to approach every game and every opponent with the same level of urgency and preparedness. And also having a defense that is easy to figure out, rarely evolving to fit an opponent, and makes damn near every opponent (especially the inferior ones) play above their average levels. I mean, looking back, remember when we barely eeked out a W against the Curtis Painter Colts in 2011? Could barely score any points against the Browns, the Tebow game.. it all started in 2011 and has been shockingly consistent ever since then. We have a ridiculous pattern of taking entire games off

I think mine slowly regressed. I earlier thought he could fix his problems. Then I saw them to develop into tendencies.

And it seems like in time his ****** decision making seemed to spill into other areas of the team.

There was times I wondered if I was just being impatient. But recently he just has done some real head shaking decides.

I have a feeling his ****** decision making has spilled over into free agency and the draft. Pointing to players he wanted, and then the final decide was influenced for the negative.

However you shake it Tombert hasn't been OVERALL doing a good enough job.

Good enough is not sitting at home in the playoffs, or getting blown out in a home playoff loss.

Not good enough.

And this.

The final straw for me was sitting in my recliner and realized I was ROOTING FOR THE CLEVELAND ******* BROWNS, I would rather have my balls cut off and fed to me with a handful of broken glass than root for those Lake Erie sucking brown turds.

This year is as good as it gets with Mikey Sunglasses left to his own devices after all of Cowher's players except for a HOF QB are gone. One of the best offenses in the game and he doesn't make the playoffs when his kicker suddenly becomes worse than average and isn't able to pull wins out of his *** any more. Shades is in his natural state, meaning 9 to 11 wins a year and a first-round exit from the playoffs if he makes the playoffs.

I think the Bungles will replace the Browns as the AFC North cellar dwellers, the Browns and Ratbirds look like they're for real with new QB's, and we'll be lucky to finish second in the division next year.

And people thought I was crazy when I said we should draft Baker Mayfield. (I realize the Browns took him before we drafted, but still.....)

I agree with all except that the Ravens still need a QB for the future.

i've been calling for Tomlin to get the axe since 2011, so i know you're not directing that at me.

I don't even remember when I started wanting him gone but it's been awhile back. The thing is that this happened last year after we lost at home to the jags. Everybody was finally ready for him to leave. But as always happens they got back on the bandwagon as the draft came and went. This year will be different. Just go look at the prediction thread. They'll be using the same excuses next season as they did this season.. Who is better than Tomlin? How can you get rid of him and not have a name? He's never had a losing season ETC..... It doesn't change.

key moments when i realized that CMT wasn't all he was cracked up to be:

the 2009 loss to the browns in primetime. absolutely pathetic.

the 2011 season-opening loss to the ravens. was shocked that, against our rivals, we came out THAT flat and THAT unprepared.

the 2012 loss to the chargers at home when we still had a fair shot at the playoffs, the poor decisions were jaw-dropping

the 2012 second bengals game, where we basically layed down and let the bengals come in and steal one

the 2012 loss to the browns where jonathan dwyer fumbled a million times, seemingly with no consequence for constantly putting the ball on the turf.

the opener in 2013 where we got punked by a ****** titans team at home, and eventually started out 0-4 en route to a 2nd-straight season out of the postseason.

the 2013 loss to the ******-*** raiders where terrell pryor made the entire defense his *****

the 2014 loss to the michael vick-led jets

just to name a few, of course

There were more games, too. The killer for me was the constant, and never changing head scratching decisions, and the lack of fire in so many games. He doesn't seem to learn either. Just a killer.

Because of the franchise history I never really bothered getting involved too much in the Tomlin has to go stuff. Now? I think it's time. I can promise you this, if the Rooney's don't spend all that money they saved on LeVeon on the defense or make some significant changes in either the staff, or the roster it'll be a while before I watch another game. Considering you can count on one hand how many I've missed in twenty years that's all I can do. I've had enough of the underachieving. If the owners don't care about anything but guaranteed gate receipts neither will I.

Lots of incidents have caused me to continue losing respect for Tomlin’s coaching abilities.
From him not knowing how to properly use running backs by running the wheels off, to mishandling of James Harrison, to having the FO pick his coordinators aka Todd Haley, to mis managing clock management, keeping his franchise QB out for four series in Oakland, stupid challenges, arrogance and cockiness, doesn’t learn from his mistakes, undisciplined players, inconsistency, gets up for the better teams but doesn’t have same focus for the lesser teams, no adjustments, game to complicated for him. I could continue but tired of typing. You put him on a team with half the talent he’d never last out his contract.

The fact that Bud ever played over James Harrison is a disgrace. James is still right now, 100 times better than Bud will ever be. The pass coverage talk was complete garbage. That alone was terrible coaching.

For me it wasn't any one thing. I just think a change would do them good.

I fully expect them to bounce back next season. My bigger concern is the consistently awful officiating. It's the bane of the league. It's costing teams games. And, as we saw today, costing teams playoff berths.

And bringing in Bostic, who I could beat in a foot race, to help replace the fastest ILB in the NFL was a joke too.

And pair him with a even slower LBer in Williams. And play a scheme that is dependent on them dropping in coverage?

Is next level tarded.
