Harrison Blames Tomlin For 2018 Season; Discredits His Super Bowl Championship

Maybe we could bring in one of Tomlin's protégés, you know of any that went on to prosperity elsewhere?????

I'm sure there are a lot of COACH MATERIAL out there. Minnesota had a DC 2 years ago whom I thought was an up and coming coach potential. I haven't scoured the ranks but I'm sure they are out there and color is optional.

Sorry only Tomlin. There are no other coaches but Tomlin. Since you can't name any and nobody knows if they will work out then the Steelers have no choice but to stick with Tomlin.

******* A....All of a sudden all ya'll loving Big Game James again & welcoming him back into your sweet loving arms.

Ahhhh.......... What a common foe does:welcome1:

His body of work with the Steelers trumps out one stupid move in his last season. Hated it,but I'm starting to see through the smoke.

James is a 2 time super bowl champion with the Steelers. The man is a no nonsense kind of guy. I don't agree with some of the stuff he says, but in this case I think he's dead on balls accurate.

I feel the same way Harrison feels. Tomlin has NO CLOCK SENSE, which cost us a few games. He did a Super Bowl on Cowher leftover team. Ya he had won a lot of games, but means nothing if can’t get through FIRST game in playoffs!
We are out coached in all the games we lost! Bad time management, bad play calls, wrong defense called, not going for it on four down, going for it when not advised, not using a challenge when needed. On and on !!
Time for coach number 4!!!

huh?? when the steelers "gave him a 2nd chance", cowher was still the coach, genius

As a back up. We let Porter go when he wantes out and then have Harrison the starting job. I believe that was under Tomlin's watch.

He was on the roster for what, 3 seasons before porter left? Thats because Bill saw the value in keeping him

Harrison was signed here after Baltimore cut him when Cowher was here.
Porter never wanted out, Tomlin wanted to get rid of the biggest personality in that locker room when he came in.
The plan was for Timmons to play ROLB when he was ready, until then Harrison would play there, but once he got in there, he wasn't being replaced.

I also think Timmons had a rookie injury costing him a lot of the season playing time. That had to help James Harrison to a degree also but KNOW I am not taking anything away from Harrison. He is an ALL TIME GREAT for the STEELERS organization. His play has to be one of if not the greatest linebacker in STEELERS history. His play is undeniable. Imagine if the "holding" penalty was a part of the NFL while James was playing............................

Nobody outside that locker room knows if Tomlin has lost the team. Nobody. Pure speculation.

Whoever was coaching the team in 2008 is whose team it was when they won the Super Bowl. That is such a bullshit argument. It always has been. I borrowed my brother's shotgun the other day and hit 25 out of 25 shooting trap. I guess he hit 25 out of 25, using that logic.

Damn, and I could really care less if they fire the guy. I agree with the criticism of his coaching on the field and stuff. But this stupid ****...

Which is why Barry Switzer is a world class coach.

And FYI, is it safe to assume you could go out AGAIN with that shotgun, or another that you purchased and hit most or all your targets?

Cause Tomlin can't re-create the shoot...

You answering a question with a question tells me all I need to know about your drivel.

Coaches that have won a super bowl since the start of Tomlin's tenure:

Tony Dungy (not active)
Tom Coughlin (not active coach) but has MANY players speak out WHILE HE WAS COACHING. Strahan being a big one at the time.
Sean Payton - has one of the best QB's to ever play the game and has a similar record and playoff results as our very own Mike Tomlin
Mike McCarthy (fired this year) Aaron Rogers threw him under the bus
John Harbaugh (was on the hot seat until he benched Flacco) Was called out by several players on sticking with Flacco
Pete Carrol - still hasn't lived down the goal line play, was called out by just about everyone on the offense besides Wilson
Bill Belicheck
Gary Kubiak (stepped down)
Doug Perderson - has faced massive scrutiny this year

The issue is, you don't follow those teams as closely as you do the Steelers (your supposed favorite team) so you aren't going to hear the same things you are hearing from the Pittsburgh media. But it's not hard to find out, google is this amazing invention available to anyone with internet access.

And even with all the scrutiny these coaches have faced, none of those franchises have been in the position the Steelers have for as long as we have been. The Saints were perennial losers, the Eagles won the first EVER super bowl last year, the Seahawks were like the Saints, The Colts didn't do much before or since Manning. We don't need to address the Patriots...

3 of those teams had/have 1st ballot H.O.F. QBs. None of them have a first ballot H.O.F. receiver as well.

Fox's version of FirstTake brings Harrison on whenever they need a hot take on the Steelers. They know they're going to get something good and negative when he's on the show. It's not like they're bringing him on after the Steelers beat the Patriots or after they are 7-2-1.

Nothing earth-shattering there.

Hell the ****** can't even count. There were 11 that started both SB. Dumb *** liar.

Offense:
1. Ben
2. Parker
3. Ward
4. Miller
5. Starks

Defense:

6. Smith
7. Hampton
8. Farrior
9. Foote
10. Taylor
11. Troy

And that doesn't count those that played the in the SB with Cowher like Keisel and Harrison that started the next SB with Tomlin. That also doesn't count those that started with Cowher and was a backup with Tomlin like Townsend and others.

Stop confusing nuthuggers with facts. Having as many as 11 remaining starting players 3 seasons later, under a new head coach, is a rarity.

Seifert is widely known for winning the Super Bowl with Walsh's players. He did so with 13 returning starters...THE NEXT YEAR.

Remember the regular season game when a Ryan Mallett lead Ravens team beat the Steelers?? He had only been with the team something like 10 days, and his first start he kicked the Steelers ***. Ten freakin days and Ryan freakin Mallett kicked their ***.

Tomlin's grip on things is real real troublesome.
The fact we've lost to teams that had no business in contention is what does it.

10 day Mallet
Tim Tebow who struggled to throw in the NFL
Blake Bortles who over achieved last season with a strong defense.

Losing to the likes of the Raiders, Glennon led Bucs team, a horrible Broncos team this season.
What else? The lack of development of the current players.

TJ Watt is getting by on instinct alone imo. Proper coaching will really sky rocket his career and I hope he becomes the next Steelers LB great.
The DB position has absolutely fell apart when Taylor, Polamalu and Clark reached the end of their careers.

Edmunds has a chance to be decent. But coaching will end up stunting his NFL growth

The Steelers need a new identity.
A new philosophy. Times are a changing, Tomlin's approach just doesn't fit the mold for the players current construct.

Ben carried this team as far as he could.
Time for some new coaches and soon

All legitimate points MTC but you know as well as I do that Tomlin is going nowhere, at least as long as his contract. If by chance a Lombardy comes our way then he is here permanently. The rest of the league lets out a combined sigh each year they know Tomlin is retained as behind the scene they are all relieved to know NOT MUCH is happening in Pittsburgh as long as Cool Shades is at the helm. MOST talented team or top 3 talented team in the NFL but continuously falls short. I use to think it was coordinators holding this team back but have come to realize it's the top honcho, Head Coach Mike Tomlin. TOTAL WASTE of a nfl HOF quarterback and a ****-load of talented team.

Correct. He started under Tomlin's watch. And after his first year as a starter he cemented himself into the position.

But apparently, Cowher didn't think enough of him to start him. He was a special teamer under Cowher's watch. And I guess for 3 years at that...as you stated.

Tomlin didn't plan on him being a starter either, that's why he drafted Timmons, he got lucky because he had to play him.

If memory serves, Porter was a salary cap casualty more than anything else.

But he did start him correct? And kept him there despite drafting Timmons. Tomlin then found a new position for Timmons.

Absolutely this. Tomlin may be some things but he isn't is afraid of 'big personalities'. Todd Haley & Bruce Arians are people you could say have 'big personalities'. And Porter is a damn coach on the team (and not a very good one BTW).

Loved Joey the player and personality, not so much the coach.

He could've cut Haggans instead of Porter and the difference would've only been a million, why cut the better player when it's not a huge savings? He wanted to show whose team it was and Porter was the voice of the team. Ben was under his rookie deal, Bettis was gone, Holmes a rookie, Harrison had yet to prove himself. They weren't in horrible cap shape
