For Sunday's game.As of now they are not even showing the Ravens/Browns game in the Pittsburgh area at 1. I'd rather they both played at the same time

They do play at the same time....They moved them both to 4:30 ET. IMO So they can keep interest throughout the day as this will be the final piece of the playoff puzzle.

Yes, the league goes to any length to make sure that games that impact the playoffs (getting in or seeding) are played at the same time, and if there is ever a win and in scenario (which there usually is) it is bumped to the 8pm NBC game. (Colts/Titans this year) that game has no other implications except for those two teams.

This has been done for about 5 years of memory serves.

It is better than in the past where you buy a ticket and travel for a game thinking it can get you in the playoffs at 4 pm, but then the 1 pm game you are eliminated by someone else and you now have a 5th exhibition ticket to a show no one wants, and the studs are gonna sit out.

Makes no sense. The Steelers will have a huge draw at 1 and if they win, would bring many of those people to watch the Rats game in the afternoon. Thus, giving more viewership. Unless, of course, the fix is already in and the league is planning on the Steelers losing which would have meant no viewership at all for the Rats game.

Just to add drama.

I'm going out on a limb and saying both games will be close. Add to the NFL excitement. A few holding and PI calls here and there, and presto...two close games.

The only good thing is that the league would rather have PIT in playoffs than BALT. And they would love to have Baker and the Browns as a huge off season story leading to 2019. This game will come down to a FG late.

Chargers at Ravens is the who cares Saturday afternoon Wildcard. Chargers at Steelers becomes the Saturday night primetime game.

I can see the Steelers winning an having the cameras in the PIT locker-room watching the Ravens game go to OT. Shades of the Bills from last year.

Horse **** that they moved the game time. Par for the course for the NFL to **** over the fans

How is moving the game BACK 3 hours screw the fans? College games are moved ALL-THE-TIME and they still manage to sell out stadium far bigger than Heinz Field...

This game didn't get flexed because it was a competitive game. It got flexed because us and the Rats are head to head for the AFCN at the same time. It could have been played at 1 PM as scheduled but the NFL decides to move the game time. This absolutely screws the fans when people have the date and time of the game and its moved so the NFL can try to generate ratings.

They don't list the start time for the college games before they decide a start time. The start time for this game was announced eight months ago.

All I want is Sunday at 1:00 pm and they rarely give us that.

It's all about the Denar, peso, bitcoin, DOLLAR so don't let NOTHING else worry yaz.

Salute the nation

I understand wanting the game to coincide with the Ravens game, but why not keep them both at 1 pm?

DRAMA

The league wants you to watch ALL the games every Sunday, this will keep all the sports bars filled all over the country to the last minute

The only good thing is that the league would rather have PIT in playoffs than BALT

I've been saying for weeks that they would rather have the young African-American QB coming in and taking over a team going nowhere and leading them to the playoffs... and that is not Pittsburgh...

To give me time to get back home from Christmas Town in Busch Gardens, so I can watch the game....

Of course...

Good point, but I would think the league would want ratings. Steelers would triple the Ravens in the match up.

If watching both games is that important you can always go to a bar - a good sports bar will have both games going

It was changed shortly after the Saints game ended. Charley Batch announced it on the post game show.

If they had any brains, they would have started all AFC games at 4:05 and NFC at 4:25 or vice versa. That way viewers could watch the finishes of more games.
