I am still beyond pissed about the lack of the NFL apologizing openly to the Steelers about the officials blatant **** up on the missed false start call that gave the Chargers a FREE TD! That cost us the game. The NFL saw fit to apologize for a few other inconsequential calls that went the Steelers way earlier in the year but didn't utter a peep about this blatant **** up. I just don't get it unless they truly are out against the Steelers. I mean why bring up and apologize for a few calls that meant nothing to the games and then not say anything when there were actually 2 blatant **** ups that altered the outcome of a game. Sorry to rant about this but as the season goes on and seeing ever more **** ups go against the Steelers once again with no apology by the league and no one being fired, it becomes obvious what is going on with the NFL.

Slanting games. The new normal. One more game to go!

So you are mad about 1 offside penalty that still did not prevent a DB from actually covering a WR, but not mad that we lost to the Raiders after our HC thought that we could win with Josh Dobbs at QB in the second half? This stupid *** conspiracy theory **** gives all Steelers fans a black eye. If you believe there is a conspiracy, WHO all is in on it? Are all the players in on this? Was Boz in on it when he missed FG's? Was JuJu in on it when he fumbled the ball against the Saints when we were close to FG range and potentially a TD? BTW, if this is a GRAND conspiracy the number of people involved would have to be HUGE and yet there is never ONE WORD of a conspiracy by ANYONE. Small scale conspiracies and fraudulent acts almost always get caught due to people slipping up, running their mouth...etc. Yet you believe that a conspiracy the size that this one would have to be, and given the social media presence today that nobody has ever said one word about it? If the Steelers were in the playoffs right now, I bet there would not be ONE word about a conspiracy against the Steelers. Were you crying about a conspiracy after the Seahawks victory in the SB? There is no ******* conspiracy, the NFL is not against the Steelers, and there is no way that a fraud of that magnitude would ever go unspoken.

Nothing new here, move along little doggie, move along.......................

I hear yaz TDX27 but it really has been going on for a long time. It's NOT slanted against the STEELERS it's just the STEELERS are always in the high light games (that what happens when you win a lot of regular season games). NOTICE how few occasions there is anything happening t6o the STEELERS in the playoffs..........................................

Salute the nation

agree. The Chargers game was bad and it was actually 17+ points tied to piss poor calls. Am I happy about it? no, it still torques me. But Pride has it right, this team tied the Browns in week 1. This team lost to Denver and Oak. Were there some bad calls in the NO game? sure, and a few went the other way. But in the end, the team was still in position to win the game and didn't. This team was in position to take the 1 or 2 seed in the playoffs and now is in position to see the playoffs like the rest of us...from the couch. This is on the entire team and it was a **** year through and through. Umps were one part of the BS. Bell another. Injuries, dumb tie, dumb losses, turnovers, inability to create a turnover, Burns completely exposed, blown leads, ****** game day management, and on and on and on. It has been up there with the some of the worst seasons I have endured as a fan going all the way back to the 70's glory years. Through and through, this year sucked.

every single one of the 32 NFL franchises will suffer horrendously bad calls from the refs, at some point in their seasons. every single one of them. ****, according to the bengals board, we are the most privileged franchise in the history of professional sports and the NFL absolutely loves the Pittsburgh Steelers

We made our bed, now we sleep in it.

To have to rely on the Cleveland Browns to beat the Rats Sunday sums up how piss poor of a season this was for our standards.

There’s no conspiracy, and there’s no conscious effort by the NFL to keep the Steelers from the playoffs.

What is there is an effort by the NFL to minimize visibility of any officiating error that results in a complete reversal of fortunes for teams during a game. They are not going to tarnish the shield by highlighting their major errors, especially on scoring plays.

The biggest blown call in the Chargers game was the phantom holding call after Conner's huge run halfway through the 3rd quarter. That would've put the game out of reach but of course the league can't have that, millions of west coast viewers would then tune out at the expense of ratings and advertising revenue. So instead they keep the game close with a fake hold. The false start non call was significant too because the tackle moving froze the defense.

Also, if there was a grand conspiracy against the Steelers, why did the officials not rule AB out of bounds on his sideline catch on the last drive? That would have been an EASY way to end the game right there.

It's not so much an anti Steelers conspiracy, but an effort by the league to keep games close in key situations with phantom calls, where the Steelers have been repeatedly on the short end of the stick.

Where was the effort by the league to keep the game close against the Panthers? Maybe the league is more against the Panthers than the Steelers?

I really think that the refs for the Chargers game all met at the grassy knoll in Dallas and agreed to assassinate any chance of the Steelers winning. Yep, that’s what happened.

I know it's been going on but the NFL made a point to apologize for some BS calls or non-calls in our games that were against us an would have slightly favored (but not alter the outcome of the game) the other team. Those apologies made the Steelers look bad no matter how you slice it. When we start seeing blatant calls that hurt us and directly affect the outcome of a game and not a peep from the league, then I get real pissed off.

It's not a Steelers issue, it's a league issue and one of the many reasons I rarely watch anything other than the Steelers. The officiating is horrible, inconsistent and takes a lot of the enjoyment out of the game. It's one thing for an official to make a bad call, it's another to have no recourse and almost no repercussion after the fact. If it's too difficult to field a competent officiating crew, then go to an eye in the sky that can intervene to correct obvious errors. The officials may not be out to fix games, but anyone that thinks they don't have an impact on the outcome of games hasn't been watching.

The Panthers don't generate interest from millions of west coast viewers.

Seriously? Did you watch the game? The Steelers are leading 23-7 with 3 minutes to go in the 3rd QTR. The chargers are driving and Rivers throws for a 1st down at the Steelers 7 yard line. A flag comes out for holding on the Chargers. It moves them back to the 35 yard line and goes from 3rd and 4 to now 3rd and 14. Why in the hell do they call that IF they want a close game? So the refs KNOW that the Steelers can't pick up a first down on 2nd and 14 but the Chargers can pick up a first down on 3rd and 14?

Also it wasn't halfway through the 3rd. It was the opening drive with about 11:40 left in the 3rd. To even more precise it was the 6th play of the drive. So here we have 2 holding call on both offenses except you believe one is the right call and one is the wrong call because you're bias. BTW the holding call on Foster was a good call. He grabbed the defender's outside shoulder as Conner went through the hole.

Not to mention the disparity in number of....and penalty yardage in the Raiders and Pats games ......
much to our benefit!

I am not saying the officiating in general sucks because it does. What has me so pissed is when the league singled out the Steelers and some minor penalties in their games to say "we, the league made a mistake and that minor call that had no affect on the outcome of the game should have gone against the Steelers." Yet, when we have blatant calls like the false start penalty that directly affected the outcome of a game, a Steelers game, the league stayed silent. They didn't apologize like they did in other games and like they did in the games that they singled us out. No one got fired like, I believe the Cleveland game. Why? I want to know. Call me a cry baby, I can take it. Maybe it's because of how bad our season has gone. But, the league has been so inconsistent, this has got to be the biggest inconsistency of the entire season.

isnt adertising money already paid in to the NFL? if so, they'd likely not give a **** about keeping games close.
changing game times so they'd have more people viewing, however, is a different idea. the more people that are said to be "watching" at home fuels the NFL's cost to advertise during it's games. Those numbers can be anywhere from start to finish, and they'll always use the highest number. Why do you think games switch to the finish of other games after the one you've watched has finished? The NFL couldn't give a **** less if you watch the Broncos-Cardinals nailbiting 3-3 OT game finish after your game ends. They want to show that MORE people tuned in. Thus saying that more people watch games than ever before.

Though the ratings does also show when people tune out or change the channel.

Can they get a partial refund if there is an abnormally low amount of viewers? I thought I heard something about that after the broncos **** the bed against the seahawks a few years back but I might have imagined it. When Rooney said that spygate was no big deal and all the teams cheat I thought something was fishy. I don't think all 32 owners have equal decision making power, there's probably an inner circle who has more influence over what happens. The founder of the league was a member of skull and bones at yale. If they could make us think a few guys with box cutters pulled off 9/11 adjusting the outcome of a few football games shouldn't be too hard for them.
