I am so ******* tired of reading this. We NEVER ONCE missed Bell. Not ONE ******* game.

You go look at Conner's numbers, compare them to Bell's and tell me where the **** we missed Bell?

It's not even about better value at the salary! Conner RAN and CAUGHT better than Leveon ******* Bell.

Let the myth of Leveon go. He WASN'T that ******* good.

My post was about more than Bell, and it’s crazy to say he was no good. Bell being out was about more than not having him on the field. He tied up 14 million we could have used to Fill needs . Essentially, his roster spot was taken by someone we moved up from the practice squad. My post was not intended to say Conner and Samuels did not play great. It’s an oversimplification to just say “bad coaching” over and over. The circus of Le’Veon” was IMO a part of the 1-2-1 start, a distraction. I for one will never forgive himfor what he did, but that event is part of this years story which no doubt did not help the team THIS YEAR. Now when we use his money...that hopefully is a different story.

That's why this **** is on Tomlin, we have a team talented enough to beat NE, should've beaten the best team in the NFL, then turn around and tie the browns, lose to a 2 win Oakland team, lose to a ****** Denver team, lose a 16 point second half lead to the Chargers at home.

What about the players? Are these players just pieces of clay that can be molded week in and week out to what you want them to be? They have no free will and choice? Do the players bare any responsibility at all for sleepwalking through some games? How do you take grown men making millions and make them see they can't just show up and beat teams in the NFL?

Yes they absolutely do, but this has been going on under Tomlin since 2009 and the infamous unleash hell month, every year we have games like this.
There's the challenges, that he refuses to hire anyone to help him with.
There's the horrible time management.
Sean Davis and others in the past have come out and said they need to work harder in practice.
Bud Dupree, after the 2016 AFCCG came out and said they never saw NE run the flea flicker they used against us, when they ran it 6 weeks earlier vs Baltimore. And also they were surprised that NE went up tempo in that game. They always go up tempo, especially vs us.
His super passive defense has given up at least 14 points in the 4th quarter 4 times this year alone.

Good, I am glad you said that. Look, I simply take issue with the statements that it is all on Tomlin. This is not a defense of him...they fire him I will lose no sleep. I just don't like ignorant blanket statements like that...because I believe if they fire Tomlin, bring in a new guy and don't change some of the players the results will be similar. I'm starting to wonder if they need to sacrifice just a little talent, I emphasize just a little, and try o get smarter players who understand the simple concept of not letting down to inferior teams, for example. The 2 examples of players you used, Sean Davis and Bud Dupree, especially Dupree...he may be as dumb as a stump. I think I could make an argument that the coaching staff did in fact discuss it, and who the hell knows what Dupree heard.

I agree on Dupree, but Tomlin keeps putting him out there. Is it Vince Williams fault he can't cover a wr, but he some how keeps getting matched up on WRs, I'd blame the Coaches, not Williams.

You run a 3 man Dline the majority of the time with Cam, Hargrave, Tuitt, AluAlu, Big Dan, Walton. Watt and Williams/Fort, wouldn't mind seeing Thomas get a look, then you run 6 DBs. Also wouldn't mind seeing 4Dlinemen with Watt as the only LB and 6 DBs. That eliminates Dupree, and on obvious passing downs, eliminates Williams, while keeping our best pass rusher on the field, gives us a big front that can get a push and not get gapped on runs from the spread offense.

I wanted Tomlin when they were interviewing, but the same crap keeps happening over and over. Using 2DL on the goal line?????? Who in their right ******* mind thinks that's smart

It's like when they play terrible competition they just show up thinking they're going to win because they're the better team on paper. Each time we either get beat in the trenches or make so many mistakes that it becomes too much to overcome. When they go in against the NFL's best, they game plan like there's no tomorrow. This staff and team definitely doesn't treat all opponents equally.

Don't tell me they would watch film, because they already do.

They already know all the rules inside and out.

They are not going to get more reps in practice; because practices are not what they were with full contact work outs being limited under the CBA.

The officials are already graded each week by the league and are given playoff assignments based on evaluations.

I just feel making these guys "full time" would be no more than a title change.

The ONE play that summarizes the biggest issue with this team is the 3rd and 20 play. If you blitz there, Brees is either throwing a hot route, checking the ball down to a RB, or taking a sack/short run. Instead, we bring no pressure and give up a 25 yard pass to a WR that was as wide open as a Hanoi hooker. That is a scheme issue, and it is apparently one that Tomlin LOVES to play. No matter how much success we have when we run a true 3-4 defense, run a zone blitzing scheme, or any other defense, we ALWAYS morph back into his 2DL scheme that gets no pressure on the QB and allows our week secondary to get toasted. THAT is on Tomlin and HIS coaching staff. We might be good enough to win with lapses in communication or mistakes by the defense, we are not good enough to overcome player mistakes AND poor schemes that set players up to fail.

If you make full time officials you can bring in new officials, younger officials, that can now have officiating as a full time job instead of the attorneys and doctors that we currently have working as officials on Sundays. 80% of division 1 football players will NEVER make it into the NFL, how about a development program that gets some of these kids onto fields. You don't think that some of those kids that played the game at a high level and have a MUCH higher athletic ability than the current retirement home crews the NFL has wouldn't be a better option? Until they have FT officials, there is no way someone that is not fairly wealthy could ever afford to be an NFL official or have the freedom and flexibility to be an NFL official.

I am a true advocate of running the ball with a FB lead blocker in short yardage situations. There's a time and place for that, back against the goal line and at the goal line are good examples. When you have a 3rd and short in scoring position and the spread offense has been negating the blitz and working you stick with that. Also, given that Ridley has fumbled in big moments previously you don't put the ball in his hands.

The fake punt could have pinned NO deep and we may have got a stop. With a shorter field they didn't have to go as far so we had less opportunities to stop them. It was clear to me that Tomlin did NOT trust the defense and he wanted NO to score so we ended the game with the ball in our hands.

So that said, if you want to go for it on 4th down put your offense on the field and go for it. No need for the fake punt.

Its a microcosm of our season. We have self destructed at inopportune times and its cost us not just our own destiny but also a #1 seed if we won the games we blew. That's the story of the 2018 Steelers.

Show me any young kid that can have a FT job that gives you the ability to take up to 3-4 days off of work each week to be able to pay for their own travel to any game on any date and at any time. There is a reason 2/3 of NFL officials are attorneys, doctors, accountants, and business owners. There have been several ESPN features on NFL officials and why they are all older and wealthier individuals. BTW, I will bet you that almost any former D1 player sees the game as well if not better than any official. I would also bet that the game is slower for them than it is for any official. I also GUARANTEE that they are in better shape than almost any official the NFL has working for them currently.
