Tomlin sucks but he did not lose this game for us

So Nix is OK to try and get a fake punt two yards on 4th down but not to try and get critical yards any other time ? I'll take Nix over Ridley any day in short yardage.

I honestly don’t even know where to begin but I will try. Nix is a FB and Ridley is a RB. Nix ran the fake punt because normally lines up in that position. Ridley was in there for a short yardage situation but to spell Samuels a carry or two because he’s a rookie and was probably gassed.

The fact that he was even handed the ball in that situation is enough for me.....The guy wasn't used for how many games, then in the key situation that will make or break your season you give it to him?

Yea fire his ***.....

So who are you going to put in there? Edmunds from the practice squad. We are already down to a 5th round rookie who already admitted he’s still learning the RB position because he was mostly used as a pass catcher in college. He wasn’t used before because we have nobody else! Besides I don’t ever remember you or anyone for that matter complain about him before the game. If you did please show me so I will stand corrected.

Tomlin “just wanted to be aggressive” with fake punt...."First of all, I liked the play …"

Nobody else because they went out and got nobody else. Their inability to know what Bell was going to do plus react to it by bringing in solid depth was a fail. Personally I wouldn't want a RB notorious for fumbling. Because eventually in crunch time I might have to use him.

The FO had their worst off season decision making, and followed it up with their worst season game to game decision making in a long time.

In other words a lot of dumb *** decisions is taking place.

But hey they have that extra Bell money it sure looks nice sitting there all nice and shiny!

We don't need a WR opposite AB, we don't need to shitcan Burns, we don't need to bring in another CB, we don't need RB depth Ridley is good enough, we are ok with the defensive scheme. We don't need to upgrade anything scrubs can fill holes and they can be coached up.

Dumb mother ******* I see.

Oh and BTW you could have left Ridley in there to block, you could have simply called another ******* play. You know on 3rd and 2 against a top running D you want to pass. Pass ******* pass. You know pass with that QB elite QB that was in a ******* groove.

Possibly the dumbest play call of the season.

I don’t ever remember anyone complaining about our lack of depth at the RB position and Tomlin (Should be Colbert) inability to bring anyone else in. Please show me where. Where is everyone getting he’s notorious for fumbling? He has a total of 9 fumbles in 73 games played and hasn’t fumbled in the past 5 years. I get it because it fits your narrative.

I was talking about them sitting on their hands all year, as well as other posters. Not the Steelers way is the replies posters got. Ridley was talked about too. So my narrative is from things talked about. Wonder what fits your narrative? Number 1 or 2?

He fumbled in the 2nd Browns game. So he hasn't gone 5 years without fumbling. There is also a reason why he hadn't fumbled much the past few years. He didn't play much at all. He had 3 carries in one of those year... yes 3. He only started 7 games in those 5 years. Also you can go back and look at many threads talking about Bell during the off season and during the early season with people talking about only having Connor to rely on and he is an unknown.

Have to admit I'm not as emotionally involved as I once was, although I was told I could be heard out on the street after Hayden's non-interference, interference call.

Just watched the game casually after that, knowing how the game would be called.

Tomlin shouldn't be left completely off the hook, the Ridley decision alone should prove that.

Only reason Ridley is in there is because we have nobody else. He’s literally our 4th string RB if you count Bell. He wasn’t released because he fumbled a lot anyways. He was released because of a bad knee injury. Nobody seemed to complain about his “fumbling” issues when we signed him last year and has ran well when he’s been called upon. Matter of fact I don’t remember anybody ever mentioning he had fumbling problems with any other team. But I guess if it helps you “prove” your case that Tomlin should be fired then let’s go for it.

Dude fumbled 9 times in his 3 best seasons so yeah, he fumbles.

Did he allow Ridley onto the field, or even onto the 53 man roster? If so he sure as hell did.

Tomlin sucks at game day decisions, this has been and always will be true. And it was true yesterday. But that deck was stacked against him as well. That game was pure horseshit.

At least get your facts straight. It was 8 times. But I guess you also were one beating your chest when we signed him he’s fumbling prone.

You are nitpicking stats? So when they sign a player we don't agree with we are supposed to beat our chest?

Or is it your narrative has been proven wrong, and now you are backtracking flailing your arms because you hate to be wrong?

So you like facts.

When your season is on the line and your QB is red hot, you don't try to get a first down on 3rd and 2 by running it against the NFLs number one rushing D. Ridley is good usually for 1 or two yards regardless of his fumbling history. That doesn't scream a good percentage call.

Which apparently you are fine with.

That doesn't fit his narrative.

My narrative is everyone is sounding like a bunch of crying babies every week. We should just change our name from Steeler nation to crying nation. We blame Tomlin for everything from the kitchen staff to the ball boys. We fail to actually admit maybe this team has faced too much adversity to overcome situations beyond his control. Our All pro RB was a dick and bounced on the team. Our leader on defense was paralyzed just a year ago. Burns decided to forget how to play defense this year. Always two sides to every story. At least be a little subjective and look at both sides. Also, just so we are clear Tomlin and everyone in the organization should be held accountable for potentially not making the playoffs this year. These are the cards we are dealt and IMO firing the guy isn’t the fix all to our problems. But I guess we can agree to disagree.

For the record I also thought it was a horrible play call.

hahahahaha

I love Tomlin nuthuggers.

No the short comings were well within his control. They just simply failed to communicate and then react to it properly.

BTW your head coach gets the props for succeeding and the blame for short comings. Just how it is.

I love it is a nation full of crying because you want to keep the under-performing coach.

Apologists are great at deflecting.

But his year to year results is well documented.

I haven’t deflected anything. He needs to be held accountable like everyone else. But, I guess we will see after this season if he will still be our coach or not. But I’m sure the crying won’t stop if he is but I guess we will see.

Why do you constantly feel the need to degrade someone who doesn't agree with you? I am guilty from time to time of it but certain people on here can't fathom that some don't blame Tomlin for everything and have to call them nuthuggers or other things. At least be civil to other opinions. This isn't the politics forum.

Regardless of how you feel about Tomlin a new coach will have his detractors from day one as well. We are becoming like some certain college fan bases who want their coaches either undefeated or dead.

Keeping the focus to just this season is a mistake. Don’t you get it? This team has found ways to underachieve every year since the Packers SB defeat. Has there been bad luck and adversity along the way? Sure. But every single season has been marred with terrible losses that affected playoff positioning which directly affected the team’s final standing when it was all said and done. This team has a HOF QB, the best 6 year run for any WR in NFL history, one of the best lines in league, this year ANOTHER 100 catch WR, etc I mean it’s a travesty we have not done more with this core.

The only year since 2010 I can excuse is the one where AB and Bell and Williams all missed the playoff game in Denver. That’s too much to overcome. But 2018 is the last ******* straw for me. The Browns tie, the Raiders loss, and the Broncos loss are the last ******* straws for me. Refs robbed us vs LA and NO, but coaching cost us dearly in both of those games as well. It’s *ALWAYS SOMETHING* with this team. The stars will *NEVER ALIGN* because they *FIND WAYS* to make sure they DON’T! That’s the problem here. If we wait for a Tomlin coached team to finally “get it all together” we’ll be waiting for a ******* eternity.

Ben has had maybe his best year yet (besides the picks), JuJu has become an absolute force, AB still AB, line best in the league, plug and play “above the line” play at RB (until we inexplicably run with Ridley on 3rd down when Ben is eating them alive)

I just can’t with this ******* underachieving. Every year it’s this or that, if only THIS would have broken our way, etc. We always hamstring ourselves by losing at least 2 games every year that should never have been lost, so we should have never been in a “must win” situation IN NEW ORLEANS in week 16. This year, the “stars aligned” as best they possibly could for us.. the offense was damn near unstoppable all year, Ben dropping dimes everywhere, red zone unstoppable, and we even beat the *s. And what do we have to show for it? 8 wins and outside looking in, behind the ******* Ravens, Colts, Texans, and TITANS in the standings. The Pittsburgh Steelers with multiple HOF players on its offense cannot even surpass the TENNESSEE TITANS in the standings. This is ****** and if you think it’s just “crying” after almost a decade of this putrid underachievement, I don’t know what to tell you. What else needs to happen? What breaks does Tomlin need? What more does he need to work with that he hasn’t had? The 2018 Steelers have a Super Bowl caliber offense, and ... a Mike Tomlin coached defense. ******* trash. I’ll never forgive him for the Raiders game ******* ever. He’s dead to me

Not really. Tomlin sucks and he's outlived the normal NFL coaching tenure. Time for a change.

You must have me mistaken with someone else.I didn't care for the degrading of a nation of fans, so I responded off of that.

Some don't blame Tomlin for anything, The head coach steers the ship, it is irritating to see people constantly trying to blame everything but.
