The fact that this team missed the playoffs with THIS offense is a god damn embarrass

Any team that is allowed to grab and hold downfield, will always be a great defense. I love the illegal contact call against Vance when it should have been a 10 yard holding penalty. Of course they gave us the lesser of the two penalties.

It’s unconscionable that we not only have to play the other team, but survive and overcome our own coaches horrible decisions and game management every single game.

Totally correct, the fake punt gave them the last drive. If they can't stop New Orleans on 3rd and 20, they can't stop them...the fact the D can't play zone well enough to stop 3rd and 20 IS on Tomlin tho!! The season was blown losing to the Raiders, tying the Browns, and wasting a huge lead agains the chargers, again ON Tomlin. Fire his *** if you want this **** to change!

I had no issue with that call....IF if he was willing to let them go ahead and score. WHICH HE WASNT. With over 3:00 left, we could have let them go on up by 3 with two timeouts and 3:00.

Anyone who’s watched these teams knew they would score with four downs to play with. ..regardless of where they started. The holding and PI calls helped them, but the whole world knew they would score from their own 20 or our 20. Our only hope was to have the ball last. It still almost worked out.

The Ridley fumble turned the game. We were tearing New Orleans a new one. They couldn't stop us. A very questionable play call using a questionable player. Add the fake punt. It's always something with Tomlin coached teams. We were as good as anyone as proven today but it's always something. It seems like they never strive for perfection. The sad thing is I'm sure we'll be having this exact same conversation next year.

But they did stop them.... and the refs gifted it right back to them. If the refs weren’t in the bag for the Saints, we take over on downs and the 3rd and 20 never happens.

Hey the guy got to watch his team beat the Pats this year and has NEVER watched them have a losing season.

Hope they sign that m'fer for 10 more years so I can finally give up and look for another team to root for.......
 
The third and short, where we lined up in the obvious run package was stupidville. Then to put our second best active runner in there? Just dumb. Ben was on fire. Why take it from him and tell the opposing defense what we are going to do?

Yes, this is the exact same thing that has happened SO many times under Tomlin you honestly can't count them all.

God dammit you almost NEVER see other teams **** the bed like his teams do! Even the bad teams! Different players same results year after never a losing season year....

The defense played a damn good team tough ar home where they averaged 38 points. This is the new NFL. Our pro bowlers are on offense. That’s where we should have won this game and we did not. Officiating did not help either. I thought the fake was a chance to ensure that our best players got a chance to win the game. It’s too hard to stop a team with four downs, and to stop us too. We should have had that chance at the end of the game with time more time to do more with it. Offense turned it over twice. Played so good,but the two turnovers are the difference.
 
Another thing is that fumbles are the responsibility of the players on an isolated basis, but when it's an issue all ******* season, the coaching is to blame.


Conner's 4th quarter fumble let the Browns back into the game in week one and it's been a constant theme in losses throughout the season.

They may as well save money and not have a coach, as the one they have now obviously doesn't do anything in terms of addressing and fixing issues.

Maybe they could also get someone to actually coach the team and Tomlin could just stand on the sidelines and look stupid. Give him a headset that tunes in to his favorite rap music, no red challenge flags. He’s a mental midget.

I hate Ridley so bad right now, he reminds me of Abercrombie, you never give him the damn ball in crunch time.
 
Mrs. Fan and I actually commented that we saw Cool Shades interacting with the team on the bench today. That was a first. It was a hallmark of Noll though.
 
One series in the second half epitomized this defense. On first down, Tuitt tackled the rb for no gain and got up celebrating like he just made a game saving tackle. On the very next play they gave up 43 on a dump off to the rb. I'd like to see at least 5 new starters on defense next year; probably be lucky to see 1.
