Suppose the Chargers either win the 1 seed or through hook or crook manage to win in the wildcard / divisional round to the point where they ARE the top remaining seed for the AFCC game.

Then, by rights ,the AFCC would be hosted in tiny little Stub-hub stadium, the smallest stadium in the NFL.

HA HA!

Roger would **** himself.

StubHub loses naming rights on 12/31. On 1/1 it becomes Dignity Health Sports Park. The NFL would almost certainly try to move this game to the Coliseum if the Rams aren't playing the same day.

Also the only way the Chargers would get a home game in the postseason is by winning the AFC West. They can't host a home game as a wild card even should they win the wild card game.

That would be bullshit!

It would be an unfair move. The Bolts have played in Stub-hub all season and are familiar with it as their home field. To force them to move SIMPLY to accomodate more seats is Bullshit!

That said, I'm sure you're right. However, if the Bolts were to lose such a game, they'd have a bonafide beef that they didn't get to play their home game for the AFCC matchup.

They can if they win the wildcard and divisional rounds and are the highest remaining seed.

Negative. They will be a road team if they do not win their division. They will be the #5 seed going on the road to play #4 (division winner) and with a win at #2 (currently Houston) or #1 (currently KC). They don't get a home game without winning the division unless the #6 seed meets them in the conference championship game

Also, even though that is their "home" field, they do not sell out the 30K soccer field. Opposing teams sell out their games, always have even when they played in San Diego. They are truly a team without a home.

Wig - 1
Hines - 0 by his own admission...

And let's not forget, the Chargers aren't out of contention for winning the west outright...

And might I add... What were the odds of the Steelers beating the cheaters yesterday?

WAY ******* longer...

If Chargers beat the Rats Saturday, we just have to win one of our final two games to win the division

I merely conjectured at the start of the thread that a Bolts AFCC hosted game is possible. It most certainly IS possible. Should the Chefs stumble, the Bolts could easily win the west and then it moves from possible to "not unlikely".

already said they aren't moving it. will be played there should the Chargers host.

If they are LAC and Baltimore, I’m not counting out either of those teams in the playoffs.

Chargers always find a way to lose big games. They've been very fortunate lately. That won't last forever

Conversely, if Ravens win out, we must do the same or miss the playoffs. (Either TN or INDY will finish with 6 losses I would bet.)

We would only have 9 wins to go with our six losses as opposed to 10.

TN and Indy play week 17

Yes they can. if both the 5th and 6th seeds win. and make it to the AFC Champ game. then the Chargers would host the the AFC Championship game.

Does it really matter where any of these teams play,..........BOTTOM LINE is PITTSBURGH win AFCCG regardless of place of play.

Salute the nation

Correct.

Both Tennessee and Indianapolis have relatively easy home games this week (Titans/Redskins and Colts/Giants), and they play each other week 17, so the chances are very good that one of these teams ends up at 10-6.

I don't think the Chargers will blow Baltimore out. It's going to be a close game, and the result will quite possibly decide the Steelers' fate.

The half game is ultimately a strength. You can't look at it as a pure loss. It isn't. Ultimately, ANY team we finish even with, we're ahead of. Because we have a 1/2 win. Now, of course if we finish behind another team, we are clearly and cleanly behind them. That would have been the case regardless of whether they beat Cleveland though. If the first game is a win and the Steelers finish 10-6, they still lose to that 11-5 team. BUT, a 9-6-1 beats a 9-7 EVERY time.
