This won't take long: James Conner, end of discussion.

Pgh got lucky that JC developed so well, and stayed healthy all year. My main concern was that we would get hurt often. That never happened.

Runner ups?

Believe it or not, Ben. Many of you wrote him off and said he was in a sharp decline. That was bull: He is leading or near the top of many categories, in my view, playing his best football.

Ju Ju - He avoided a sophomore slump and is right up there with almost any AFC WR.

Haden - He has quietly shut down other team's #1 WR all year.

Hargrave - Hadn't done too much, but with increased playing time, I think he would - using Jag game as a measuring stick.

Old McDonald - Finally healthy, he is among the best TEs in the league.

Bostic - leads the team in tackles. Was brought in to stop the run and has done so.

hargrave if used asa pass rushing DE or under DT he can be a 5+ sack guy every year.

pleasant surprise to me was watching Brady get his *** handed to him by Tenn. a few weeks ago.

This was obviously written for best Steeler surprises for the season.

I can start another thread for best NFL surprises if you wish.

He obviously can respond in the thread, as you don't dictate what can and can't be said.

You can go fist yourself if you wish..

But then that leads to the subject of can we stop the rush well enough with a NT with a primary goal of rushing the passer as opposed to being a space eater to assist in stopping the run, helping the LBs be clear of interior OLmen?

Or, is that why Hargrave isn't on the field more, because he does hurt the rushing D?

His measuring stick is 5 sacks being a part time player. I wouldn't say he hasn't done too much. That is called productive, unlike 99% of your posts.

You were never officer's material, were you?

It is well-know netiquit to stay on topic of a thread, unless it rambles further down the line.

This was on the Steelers' most pleasant surprises for the season. It was pretty obvious, but maybe not to certain individuals with - shall we say - lesser abilities to perceive.

Hey, we need folks on KP duty too; I ain't hatin'. Your coarse level of rhetoric is unfortunate but hopefully there is a place for everyone in this world, however inane. I wish you the best in finding your level and role.

1. Connor is who we thought he was.
2. Defense has much improved over the course of the season.

you didn't spell it out and if you start another thread it gets merged with this one

It wasn't "spelt out?" Can you read? Let's review the content.

Now, as you can see, it was 100% Steeler-centric in all content. But I would be more than happy to offer another thread that illuminates all NFL pleasant surprises - it is, after all, in the spirit of giving.

I would be willing to make this contribution in such spirit. We are all brothers here, all related to each other, in the Lord's name.

Well, maybe he is who you thought he was, but to me, he has been more durable and productive than I believed he would be. He is the biggest pleasant surprise.

Statistically, the D has improved, but some of that can be attributed to the opponents we have faced. Some of the offenses have been short of being top shelf.

KC, obviously a good O: shredded us for 42.
Bucs - can score some points, sometimes, put 27 on us.
Ravens, not an O powerhouse, scored 26 1st game, 16 the next.
Falcons, bad team, scored 17.
Browns, bad, 18.
Jags, one of the worst O's in the NFL.

Let's see how this D does vs. the Chargers, Pats and Saints of the world before we crown our D as great or even good.

YOUR best surprise was Steeler related. Your thread title doesn't say anything about restricting it to the Steelers and while your post was just Steelers, it didn't specifically say this thread is JUST Steelers surprises...so shut the **** up asshat

31 tackles is on par for the other DLmen. 5 sacks is pretty decent. But you won't be hearing any shouting to have him as a pro bowl player.

Yea, you're real convincing with this gibberish.

wasn't isn't a surprise is you acting like a little *****

Are you trying to communicate? I can't quite make it out. Did you consume some adult beverages, by any chance? God bless, peace be with you.

Don't understand the hostility in here? Doesn't matter if people's is a Pats fan or not, there was nothing wrong with the original post.

Biggest surprise for me is McDonald turning into a beast. I thought he was a skilled player, but the anger he runs with is impressive

I'm sorry if the words I use are too complicated for your simple mind

No, the words, in themselves, weren't too complex to grasp, but the misuse of the words is what has me puzzled. Here, let's look again.

Now the above doesn't look like it would receive a passing grade in English 101. I'm just trying to help, God bless.

Not only the anger he runs with, but he looks like a complete TE; it's rare to find a good pass catcher who is also a good blocker, but he is. And his
hands seem more trustworthy than James as well. Vance is a real asset now that he is staying healthy. We could, and do, really need him.

I was pleasantly surprised by warm temps down here this season.
