In honor of our Jim Wexel conversation, I felt it was appropriate to talk Steelers, Le'Veon Bell, and life in a lucid, articulate manner.

I'll start answering questions at 8pm when I put my daughter down for the night. How's everyone doing?

I'm currently enjoying a Blue Moon sampler pack. On the Apricot Wheat currently, moving to the classic Belgian White next.

On an ex Steelers grass is greener scale of Neil Odonnal to Mike wallace, how successful is Bell probably going to be next year?

Soso week health wise I think some masked woman got me me sick from the flight back from Florida.(should have asked to move) And probably will have to go under the knife soon one way or another.

So questions

What is the odds the Steelers put a tag on Bell in the off-season to set up a trade or is that just wishful thinking?

With a new OC will the Steelers buck their trend of early playoff exit this year?

Steelers top 5 off-season needs ?

Has Bud Dupree done enough to escape bust status? I think so, Was wondering your thought process regardless.

**** Coolie, I'm in stitches.

Cope, do you think the Steelers are looking for a RB in Free Agency or do you think they're confident enough in their current group?

Look, he's a tremendous talent. I think he benefitted from an exceptional line and top offense to take pressure off of him to carry the team. It really depends on the organization he goes to. But at the price he's demanding, the team should have a young QB on his rookie contract, and also in transition of building toward the playoffs. I think he will still be successful, but he won't have the success that he enjoyed here.

If the Pats pick him up, he would be utilized to the best of his ability.

So If he goes to the Pats, he score on the Vrabel scale, anywhere else, probably a Chad Brown as a ceiling and O'Donnell as a floor.

I believe Bostic will quitely go down as a very good free agent pick up .. your thoughts?

I’ll give that a 100%. Dude is full force/energy every play. While he is out of position from time to time and asked to cover when he would be better suited to rush..solid FA pick up

Love you SW! Great meme.

That conversation between you and Coach was getting a little to heavy for me. Had to add in some levity!

If he showed up to play, Bell would have been tagged. Now, I can't see this organization wanting any part of him from now on.
They've moved on. Though strategically, I'd love for them to Franchise him, fight with the NFLPA for a #2 tag amount and trade him for a 1st and 3rd.
That is ideal. The Transition tag would be a **** you to his agent if applied. It would limit his value on the open market, and he'd be forced to sign a contract with lower yearly yields than the one he turned down for this season.

I am a HUGE fan of Fichtner. This is they type of OC we have always needed with this type of talent. I mentioned this on the podcast today. In the past, our offense was run on talent, and getting the ball to the talented players (Bell and AB drove the offense). Now we have a team concept based on scheme. We go run heavy and controlled passing vs good defenses, or Ds that are poor vs the run. We go wide open vs teams with poor pass defense. Utilizing all of our skill players (and I mean all Switzer, Xavier, Outlaw, Samuels, Ridley, and hopefully Washington) makes it tougher for the NEs of the world to shut down what we do best. Because we now can do anything. I see a deep run this year, as long as Ben is healthy.

Steelers top 5 off-season needs ?

1.CB
2. ILB
3. 3rd WR vet
4. RB depth (Vet or draft)
5. Edge rushing depth (if Ola and Adams don't advance)

Has Bud Dupree done enough to escape bust status? I think so, Was wondering your thought process regardless.

Bud is really benefitting from switching sides. He's also locked into being a steeler next year on the 5th year option. This season is a win. I know in the past, he just couldn't get to the QB, or free in the backfield. He lives in the backfield now. He just has to keep making plays. He's already had a pick 6, last game he had a sack and 2 TFLs. I think we'll see less and less misses behind the LOS as he gets more comfortable with being an impact player, which is his potential

Written in red above!

I think they have an eye open if someone becomes available, and next year that's a big yes. But barring injury this year to any of our top 3 RBs, they are set with a vet that has proven he can handle the load with 1000 yard seasons, and a young diverse rookie who can run with purpose and catch better than most RBs in this league.

Can you confirm that the Steelers star running back was a full participant in practice today?

Confirmed, and it's updated on the spreadsheet. I did it around 6pm tonight. If he practices tomorrow, he's cleared concussion protocol. Things are looking good. Conner also is quoted by saying "He feels like himself" I hope it's not a reoccurring thing this season. It's a tough position that lends itself to a lot of head hits.

Are you drunk enough to listen the L **** rap songs?

I'm not a fan of his music, but as a musician myself, I'm not going to crap on him for his passion and creativity. In his mind, he probably thinks he can make as much rapping as running. right now, hitting it big as a rapper, is the only way he'd get that $14M back.

Besides I'm a bit more old school in my wrap. Dr. Dre. The Chronic, Beastie Boys, Eminem, and when the genre started, I loved rap.
