Transition Tagging Bell

According to my math he has 48hrs.
8 games left
2 week roster exemption
6 games rostered to accrue a season.

Seeing reports saying Nov 13, but they don't make sense.

Roster exemption has nothing to do with him being under contract. He is under contract the day he inks. He has to do so by the 13th.
Once inked, the team has the option of asking for a roster exemption thus giving them time to make appropriate moves to get him on the 53. But he is still under contract and available to the team.

Careful. "We don't like REPUBLICAN Trannies. The others deserve all the rights and THEN SOME of everybody else. But NOT the Republican Trannies. They should be shunned because in High School they drank too much and groped people indiscriminately."

Steering us back to football...

I hope they tag Bell w/ the Exclusive tag...

You mean NON-Exclusive??

And thanks Mad and Hoot for the input, and your posts make sense.

What doesn't make sense is November 13th. If the point is to be inked for 6 games, Nov 13 gives him 7 games left? This makes me think the roster exemption counts against his ability to accrue a week. He is not paid during the roster exemption, and it is up to a 2 week exemption. This is why Wednesday makes sense to me.

Also the 13th is a Thursday, and I thought he had until 5pm on the Saturday before games to report to be active for that week?

Give Bell the TO treatment

If they decide they don't want to risk rescinding the tag outright (in fear of him walking and them getting nothing, but I would), then let him take his remaining $ BUT tell him to not
show up at all. We got good chemistry now, we don't need that douchebag ruining it. Stay away, dirtbag, stay away.

Can you imagine the risk of allowing him back in the locker room AND taking touches away from Conner? Screw that.

Espn is repoting that Bell has officially held out long enough that the Steelers can place a cheaper transition tag on him at a fraction of the cost and retain his rights next year...
Even if he does still leave they will gain better compensation than the comp they would receive...

Assuming they hold him out the two games without pay when he does return, it’s unlikely that his next contract will be more valuable than had he played this season under the franchise tag...

I say call Bel's agent up and tell him if he doesn't accept a sign and trade the Steelers plan on doing this.

I have no problem with Bell coming back. If I were in charge he would not get the pay for the two weeks allowed in the CBA, and he would have to work his way up to being the backup. Hopefully by the time the playoffs roll around he would be in a position to spell Connor when needed. No way in hell does he get the starting job back, that would be a huge FU to Connor.

I don’t think the guy even shows up... his decisions thus far have made no sense

If they effectively cut bell, the next day karma would probably get Burfict to tonya Harding Connors knee in the season ender and everyone would be pissed when he signed with the pats ala Harrison last year....

I let Bell start only against Cincy. Let that animal Burfict go after his knees in that game, while we rest Conner for the playoffs!

Otherwise, he's inactive until December, and I get him some backup touches that month to get him in shape and back up to speed for the playoff run.

Are you underestimating the importance of chemistry on a team? You allow him in the locker room to stir up **** and create a fissure among the team? I don't.

I wouldn’t let Bell go just yet. After watching NE last night I come to the conclusion that they could use a RB. But maybe not, they already have the Zebras.

Are you understanding the importance of utilizing talent?

Or would you rather blame the coaches for not getting Bell ready if Conner gets hurt?

Your double thought is easy to predict...

This season, Bell would be a backup, bit player, and used in situational personnel mismatches. IDGAF about the locker room. Bell has to figure out how to fit the locker room, not the other way around. He comes back contrite, works hard, and doesn't complain about his reduced role, and I have no problem with it.

The coaches job is to utilize talent. If we're winning, it will be tough for malcontents to to sew seeds of dissent. i can't say the same for a message board, though...

OK, it's obvious you are not aware of the role of cohesiveness and chemistry, but they are vital to winning championships. Maybe you are content with simply winning the division but not a ring.

The thing is Cope, you put to print what it's all about. BELL is a talent that can contribute to "Ws" and that talent needs to be contributing in a constructive way. Flip the coin to the opposite side. Say he shows up spiteful and lazy, well bring in that third party doctor and evaluate him for football playability. If he is totally against his reduced role etc........ then you may want to sit him but LIKE you said it's a coaches job to lay down the rules of conduct and establish cohesiveness amuongst the team. I'm sure during the signing of the "tag" there will be "role" conversations and attitude adjustments. I see BELL just trying to get through unscathed yet able to contribute along the way. I see TOMLIN coaching the egos and balance and getting this done.

OH and **** the troll.

I think you need to use the two-week roster exemption to get him into the best game shape as possible and then I find a way to get him involved. I do give Bell some carries behind Conner and also work him into our passing sets as a third or fourth receiver. No problem putting both of those guys on the field at once.

1. Keep his mouth ******* shut
2. Perform at the tasks and jobs assigned
3. Block when requested to the fullest extent
4. Run as your money is in the line
5 spell the number one back
6. See you after number 7

Well Bellicheat has no problem employing drug addicts and murderers, so there's that...

All that money, somehow that douche-bag is playing.

Not as a starter, but to spell JC and I also put him on STs.

They’re professionals. It’s not uncommon to dislike a co-worker, shouldn’t impact your performance.
