Amari Cooper a cowboy?

I don't think any of this is about "wanting" or "not wanting" to be a Steeler. It is 100% about how can he get max $ for max time possible, end of story, nothing else to it.

So if it is all about resetting the market at the position. Then obviously when he throws he wants to be on the team for life, it is bullshit. And perhaps it doesn't paint a accurate description.

And yes it does have a want involved. Because plenty of players wanted to stay with the team and went out of the way to make sure it happened.

So it is fair to say he doesn't want to be here. His want is to be on a team that pays him a **** load of money up front.

Whichever team that may be.

I think if another team and the Steelers were highest bidders at the same amount, he'd choose the Steelers. So in that regard he would want to be a Steeler for life, all else being equal.

But once he realized another team would pay him more, I'm sure that changed his perception.

Yea, you really maximize your value by throwing $855k on the fire every Sunday...

Where/ when did he say he still wants to be a Steeler for life? Did he tweet something new? At this point anything he says is a toss.

Edit...Just saw the date on this article...LOL. A while back. He did just tell a trib writer he is still holding out hope on signing a long-term contract with the Steelers though about a week or so ago.

BELL has never been in it for the love of the game or the LOVE of the STEELERS. It has been about the Hundo's and nothing more. He showed his true worth upon changing his mind through out the negotiation process. He is NOT worth the $$$$$$ he is expecting and I'df he garners close to expected money he will DISAPOINT immensely as it will be a rip off to the third degree. BELL was a product of the system but even more product of a dumb *** coach that couldn't figure out how to use more than JUST HIM by running his wheels off. I couldn't imagine if he was used in a better coached schemed adjustmented way.

My only fear is if the STEELERSRS somehow thought signing him after all this, went ahead and signed him.

Salute the nation

That’s what I figured...a older statement. Bell has been all over the place with his statements since last December, so whatever he says even now isn’t reliable. He had to throw that “hopes to sign long term deal with Pitt” comment so as to cement an image of engagement for a long term contract with any team. Agent tactic.

The only way this trade is good for the Cowboys is because it lets them evaluate Dak. They still don't know if he's their guy. His only success was when he had the best OL in football and a dominant run game which meant he only had to make a few throws per game to win.

With teams loading the box, it meant the reads were real easy. Kind of like when Crapernick had his one good year.

Then Dez got old real fast, so defenses had no fear of a deep threat and suddenly guys weren't wide open. Dak struggled. Now this year, he lost that great OL and he's really struggling. Dak went from the easiest QB job in the NFL to one of the toughest.

Adding Cooper means defenses have to respect a deep threat again, which should open things up. It should let them get a better look at Dak.

But i doubt they are looking at Dak like that. They think Cooper will be the missing ingredient that gets them back in contention.

I'm with you coach. Bell says he wants to be a Steeler for life? Bullshit. He doesn't even want to be a Steeler this season!

He's hurting the team. A real di@k. Report so we can trade you. You aren't getting 14 million or more from the Steelers as long as Conner is playing the way he is.

I was on record for forcing Bell to sign the tag before the draft, or pulling it all together and using the 14.5 million in caps space for other players. Too late.

Some here said teams are not going to trade for Bell. BS. Look what the Raiders got for Cooper. We can trade Bell if he reports before Oct 30 and sign the tender.

I think he's holding out to spite the team at this point.

His trade value is super low because he's UFA at the end of the year. No one is giving up a first round pick for a player who's a walk free agent. Oakland now has THREE (3) first round draft picks after getting rid of Mack and Cooper. They are rebuilding, we are contending for a title.

I think he's holding out because you don't sit out the season to preserve your body while losing that much money only to come back before you actually have to.

Bell wouldn't spend a couple million just to spite the team. He's all about the Benjamin's remember?
