After the draft I thought the Giants may win the East. Wow, I was a little off. I never give the Giants to much Grief. My second favorite team by virtue of two less Pats* SBs.

Eli doesn’t even have time to make his first read. His OL is atrocious. It’s been a ongoing issue since last year. Barkley should just get 25 -35 touches a game if they want to even compete.

eagles need a running back. hmmm

The Giants look flat out terrible. I thought for sure they would have played better given their stolen win in Carolina last week. Wow.

That game was horrid

I mean, in almost every way. Manning is done. OBJ is a hopeless, selfish, childish douche. (Makes you wonder why AB is such best friends with him).

They have a few quality players: Barkley looks like the next super star RB and Collins is one of the best safeties of today. (Thank God I had the wisdom to draft Barkley in the 1st round in my FF league. He got me 28.9 points and would have got more if the Giants weren't so far behind most of the game.)

But the main reason they are more lost than the Steelers is they look like they have zero passion, drive and urgency towards playing and winning - even Troy Aikman actually stated that live during the game. With the Steelers, we start and play _some_ games like that (mostly due to a coach who can't get his players to focus some games) but at least we don't look like the walking dead as much as NY does.

If I hadn't fantasy football implications in that game, I would have definitely watched something else....almost anything else.

I think it points to the team feeling they have no chance to win. I know the oline is not very good, but Manning is done. He has zero mobility and acts scared to throw the ball more than 5 yards. I think that they need a young QB to inject some life into the team.

It kind of indicates that McAdoo may have been right in benching Eli last season. Eli is following the NORMAL path of aging QBs before this era. Brady and Brees are not typical to the once-common QB aging trend; they are the exception of what used to be. (Many think it is HGH/testosterone that has made that possible. Prior to now, there were only a handful of NFL QBs who played even decently approaching 40 - Blanda, Moon, Testaverde.) I think you are right. The team's overall apathy could be a reflection (by some players, not all) that they don't think they can win with Eli; he's too much a weight to bear. They may not be as far off to contending as it appears now; a young, good QB could change a lot seemingly overnight, but that doesn't mean drafting Barkley was a mistake; the kid is really good.

I think Baker will work out just fine. I think both players will be great for their careers baring injuries.

Yeah, if the Browns finally think they found a QB, you have to take them no matter the running back. If the Giants don't get a QB next year, it won't matter how many yards Barkley runs for.

Very true. But you can't contend every year (even though us spoiled Steeler fans think you should, and we often do).:cool:

I think both of those teams may have made the best choices: Browns have 3 solid backs as it is (I think Chubb will prove very solid in time, 3 carries for over 100 yards in one game does jump out at me, and watching him in college and preseason made me feel he was legit) and if NY had to wait one more year before they got their next franchise QB, nabbing Barkley may prove worth it. Also, it looks like they will be picking very high in the next draft and could be looking at adding a Daniel Jones, Justin Herbert, Drew Lock, Ryan Finley.

Not buying you are a Steelers fan. I am sure you think you will last longer here if you throw this out there. But I am not so sure the mods will buy what you are selling either.

Yeah hate to admit it but the Browns probably made the right choice. Especially since they were able to get Chubb later on. However, Barkley looks like the best back in the league right now or at least right behind Gurley.

Giants should have drafted a QB but their line sucks. Eli is no Ben. He can't make a popsicle out of ****. It looks to me like the Browns made the right pick, as weird as it was to type that.

This Giants OL looks just like the one Barkley had at Penn State. Some actually tried to criticize Barkley because in some games he didn’t have big rushing stats. I even heard that criticism this year with the Giants. Anybody who says that just hasn’t watched him play.

If you saw him at PSU or with the giants this year, you know it’s a damn miracle he’s making positive yards at all. Most RBs would be averaging about 2 ypc in either situation.

Barkley is that rare player that literally every time he touches the ball, it could be a TD. I can’t wait to see what he can do when he gets some real blocking.

I’ve been trying to think of the comparison player for him and it’s hard. He’s got the body of a big power back and can run people over. But he also has home run speed and runs WR routes and has moves like a 3rd down back.

We need a foot expert to examine and determine whose feet they are, once that is accomplished the rest would be easy into the identification of said player. REX RYAN................we need yaz maan............

I hear yaz tapeANaspirin2it, BARKLEY is special. I'm not sure in agreeance on the Browns QB / RB selections as there was a good a chance that Mayfield would have been there at #4. In any event the Giants need more than Barkley to fix their problems. Manning may have 1-2 years at the most so maybe OL high or if a QB drops to them, take him. In this modern football world teams can rebuild in two years, good managed teams that is.

They were trying to compare him to barry sanders on the broadcast which I didnt agree with. The closest I could come up with was adrian peterson or maybe marshall faulk. I do not think he quite has the power AP had, but i also think his receiving skills are better.

It's hard to argue with what the Browns did. They got a top pass rusher in last year's draft, added what they believe will be a franchise quarterback, and grabbed a cornerback who's been terrific so far.

LMAO, OK there.

Convincing rebuttal.

I guess it is safe to say you aren't a lawyer in between your patriot hard on - time and pretending you are a Steelers fan.

But yes we are OK here, and the nearest cheat board

you would be OK there.

Barkley is the most complete back I have ever witnessed. Especially coming out of college, his receiving is as good as any back I've ever seen. Hey Indy, how's his pass blocking. I don't seem to remember from his PSU days.

Put him on the Steelers and that O would explode. I love Barkley, his future looks bright.
