Mike Tomlin Fined $25K for Criticizing NFL Officials

Not worth it. What's the upside? None. Do it through team channels to the NFL in a less visible way, even if you are right.

If you believe the referees can carry grudges, the Tomlin man has just made his team an even bigger target.

Like when Cowher stuffed the overhead picture into the official's pocket?

The Steelers are still paying the piper on that one........right Coach?

“Man, these penalties are costing people games and jobs,” Tomlin said in frustration.

What the hell is he talking about?

They won 41-17. What penalty cost somebody a job?

Maybe CMT received a note from Art Le Deuce that made reference to Steeler penalties and the possibility of a pink slip?
Nah, never happen.

Top, look at the statement LOGICALLY. Teams are losing games because of blown calls - fact. People (employed by these teams) are losing jobs - can't prove this but it's pretty obvious that IF the internal play review team is sending the wrong calls down and challenges are missed...guess who's not working - it ain't the HC...

Yes, they won but Coach Tomlin's statement needed to be said. The penalty, that we all saw, on TJ Watt, was absolutely ATROCIOUS. Someone should have lost their job for throwing that flag...

TJ Watt did exaclty what the league wants. Roll your body to avoid direct contact.

We talked about this on the podcast. Time to start holding the refs more accountable, or start reviewing **** penalties.

Tomlin is on the rules committee he approved the new rules. He has no leg to stand on.

Approving a rule saying "driving the qb to the ground" is far different that watching TJ Watt barely graze a guys shin and get a ******* 15 yarder for it. That's bullshit.

Joe

I don't have a problem with Tomlin speaking out. Maybe he needs to do it more. If he cries, maybe the officials will listen him like other coaches.

LOGICALLY speaking, Tomlin's statement would have made a lot more sense after his team lost. And OBVIOUSLY, he's talking about blown calls by the referees, not his own challenge department.

It needed to be said? For what? Everybody and their grandmother knows these penalties involving quarterbacks are ridiculous. Why spout off about it after an easy win?

Because you would like it fixed before it influences a games outcome.

You want the league to revisit the rule at some point. Better to start lobbying now for that to happen, in hopes it helps them rethink their stance.
