I'm sure he's been talked about through some threads plenty, but wanted to post his highlights against the Falcons and he's also up for Fedex Ground Player of the Week:

He ran inspired and is pretty damn good catching the football too.

From PFF:

Most missed tackles forced as a runner and a receiver through the first 5 weeks this season:

James Conner - 32
Saquon Barkley - 27
Kareem Hunt - 26
Lynch, Gordon, McCaffrey - 23

@JamesConner_ is one hard man to bring down! #Steelers

Sorry Steelworth but video is nfl content and won't play. I totally agree on the JAMES CONNER being a huge asset and hard to bring down. You can tell by his running and not dancing around the line of scrimage as a certain other RB we have had in the past. I hope JAMES CONNER keeps adding these accolades along the way. levMEon who????

Ah damn, didn't think about that DIC, let me see if I can find another highlight clip (worth watching).

Damn I love me some Sequan as well. But I'm shocked he's right up there with him!

Never mind, clip doesn't work either.

No problem Tomlin will bench Conner's as soon as Bell shows up, does not matter Conner's stats under this coaching staff.

He's much more talented than I thought he was when he was drafted. I thought he would be decent, but I did not expect him to be as elusive as he's proving to be.

He needs to tighten up the ball security in crucial situations though. His fumble in Cleveland changed the game, and he fumbled out of bounds in the red zone in a 13-10 game on Sunday.

Good point. He's young and they'll get it ingrained in him (hopefully). The recent comments from Ben about hoping Conner remains the starting back if/when Bell comes back makes me think the guys love him too. Personally I was pretty surprised to hear that from Ben. I hope Ben starts trusting Washington like he's trusting Conner.

Look at CONNER's sophmore college play and you will get a much better idea as to why we drafted him. He missed junior year and played senior year but was recouperating and gaining stregnth. Unfortunately he got hurt rookie year but that may have been a hidden blessing as LOOK how strong he has become rehabbing his year off. Bell is out riding jet ski's and JAMES CONNER spent his time building his body up. No question as to the character of JAMES CONNER and I for one am HAPPY he is our future back. I HOPE he gets to continue but like said, this coaching staff may not know what to do and bring bell in even though he isn't game ready.

Also I watched Jerome Betis put on some youth thingy and I caught the tail end but he was showing them the difference in what the front point of the ball made in fumbling prevention. He was saying in traffic while holding the ball one armed.... To keep that point up and less likely to fumble. He stressed way up. He also corrected Fast Willie Parker on fumbling and used near that tip. The time Conner fumbled out of bounds it appeared he had the front tip lowered. I'm not an expert (unless you count an old drip under pressure) but if I was CONNER, I'd call Jerome and ask him his advice. I would wonder if young players ever call the old guys for advice????

I'm as irritated with Bell as anyone, but in fairness, outside his contract disputes, Bell has ALWAYS shown up in great physical condition and he's maintained that nicely through the season. Even last year he was in great physical shape, but he wasn't in "football shape" and prepared to take all those reps and have the timing down with the O-Line. But it wasn't like he came in all tubby and stuff.
