So Switzer is our 3rd Option at Reciever.....

…..never really followed him before this season, bounced from at least two teams and now he's our 3rd option to throw to? I'm alright with him returning kicks, but what does this say about our core of wideouts? We drafted high to get the kid from OK State and he hasn't seen the field too much so far, what about the other wideouts....Thoughts????
 
Steelers needed another slot guy. Eli was hurt. Tucker got hurt right before the season started, so they trade for Switzer. His hands aren't as good as the other 2, but he's a better returner, runner, and better with the ball in his hands. He's making the tough catches.

Washington is still lining up outside in 3/4 WR sets. He's just not getting many looks a game.

Not even close. Edelman is a great slot receiver, tough as nails and thick. Switzer is quick but way too small and not very fast. He has great short space quickness but he sucks at YAC and is just a guy as a receiver. Now he is a great punt returner.
 
The kids got "it'. Has shown me he works hard and will give it his all. Might be our next Rocky Blier story. Who knows
 
He makes me think more of Wes Welker. Tough guy that just gives it all. Not afraid to go into traffic for the ball. Especially for a smaller guy. If the Steelers stop holding and blocking in the back, this kid will put the Steelers in good field position on returns.
 
Switzer is quick as ****. I like having him on the field. Imagine how good he can be when he actually gets the offense down.
 
He is one of the few that genuinely shows heart and an attraction to winning. I bet he is a ZERO threat to be in the meMEme movement of this team. Glad he is here !!!!!!! This team would be better off with 53 ofr these type guys.

This midget **** shouldn't be on the field for offense. Play Washington in the slot.
 
Why not give AB some of his plays or would that tip the defense off?

You want Ben to force MORE throws into triple coverage? AB is at least double teamed on every play with no running game, no 8 in the box, teams are flooding the passing zones, taking away all the deep threats. Forcing the ball to AB is not working.

Yeah I think Ben needs to build rapport and trust with Washington which will come. I like what we saw of him in the summer and think he’ll be a good one.
Also a fan of Tucker as well and can’t wait for him to be healthy enough but suppose that’s next year.
We’re really missing the speed and deep threat of Martavis but it was time to move on.

Why did Hunter make the roster?

Switzer is fine for his role, but the big thing last year is even when he played poorly, teams still respected Bryant's ability to stretch the field. They don't have to worry about that triple threat in the receiving game with just AB and JuJu now.
 
Washington was drafted for life after AB. In two years it will be JuJu and Washington on the outside and Switzer in the slot. Likely Rudolph throwing them the ball.
