—Medical questions surround the shoulder surgery that ended his 2017 season.

—Is easy to manipulate with head fakes and shoulder movements and often has to recover from over-committing on play fakes.

—Tackling form is questionable and is an all-or-nothing proposition.

—Downfield ball skills are underwhelming, and he often looks lost while the ball is in flight, instead opting to get physical with receivers.

—His open-space play is below-average and will scare NFL teams from putting him in anything other than a box role.

Most of these fears have come to fruition; I think we will see him tailing deep routes, lost, as we have already seen this season. This is another poor, dumb first round pick, who
could have been drafted much later, but our guys are always trying to prove they are smarter than everyone. Well, you're not.

I would love to see what some of these players could do with a better defensive coordinator.

Bust or NOT, I fully agree that better coaching could help a lot. You know the NFL kind of coaching......................

Salute the nation

Tomlin is supposed to be a DB guru, I call bullshit. He can't identify nor develop NFL caliber DBs among his many failures.

I'm not buying most of it yet. He is a baller and I think he will do just fine with more playing time. Not too many players picked at the end of the 1st round make immediate impacts on teams. Some do but most do not. He is doing fine in my book. Some good and some bad as expected. His speed is crazy though when he does make a pick.

We've got a lot more problems than Edmunds' play.

Wish we could pull out the post archives of Polamalu’s rookie season. He admitted himself he was lost in thinking more than playing.

I forget who said it, but one of the analysts said he evaluates head coaches based on their specialty and if that area improved since the coach came on board. Obviously we have not improved in Tomlins "specialty"

Well granted I’ve always maintained he was a reach where we picked Edmonds but sure as hell not ready to write the kid off after four games. Let’s just give him a chance and an opportunity to reach his potential. Hopefully TomBut and their garbage defensive schemes won’t discourage the kid.

Yea, but he played WR in college.

another 1st rd tweener pick, just great

this was definitely a Tomlin pick, forget college production and football talent, go for the height weight and speed numbers...

Is it any wonder when the scouts get do the later picks we usually get better drafting?

I thought he was a round 2nd to 3rd type round of talent and had him in my mock drafts outside of round one. While he's a rookie with a lot to learn, his tackling and coverage need work. Let's give him some time. As they say he's not being used correctly.

We talking about JuJu or Washington?

I think the main point isn't that he should already be considered a bust, or not, it's that he wasn't really worthy of a 1st round pick. He would have likely still been on the board in the 3rd or later. You don't
draft a player in the 1st round if he would be there in the 3rd (or 5th). That is just moronic.

Unsubstantiated hearsay, based off of opinions. You can never KNOW when someone will be taken, just because draft sites say so. Teams value players differently than websites

tomlin is no DB guru he has been lucxky from clark and troy, and ike once they left we see what a crap group we have every year

MT is not a guru of ANYTHING but cliches and cute quotes, nothing of substance. Men will not follow fakeness for long.

I'm talking about defense - in case u haven't noticed the Steelers pretty much suck at drafting D any more, Shazier was the only exception in the last 10 years

Go back and read the board from a week or two before Shazier got hurt. He was an oft injured ILB who missed tackles and struggled to cover TEs. Only after his injury has he become this Lambert/ Harrison hybrid great LBer. Shazier only played in 46 games and started 41. He never started more than 12 games and only had 7 sacks (With 0 of those his final 17 games). He may have turned into a very good player but he wasn't Football Jesus.
