* I like Conner's attention to detail with wrapping both hands on the football on the end of runs. it started after his fumble in that first game. I always thought that was more slippery ball induced. But you wonder is he sacrificing a little extra juke and go in the process?

* One interesting match-up weekly in practice must be the Juju VS Mike Hilton. Two up and comers, If that isn't steel sharpening steel nothing is.

* I know Washington had two catches, and he showed off his solid hands. But is he doing a good enough job getting open?

* Switz army knife had a nice quick quiet TD. He reminds me of Edelman a little. A good solid trade, one of the better ones of late.

* OL Mcdonald is whom the bell tolls and taking souls.

That just might quiet those he is always injured boo birds.

*That one almost roughing the passer call where Heyward lay UNDER the QB, shows you the league plans on knee jerking those flags out quickly and often. Man yearly those fuckwaffles are doing their damnedest to turn every thing into flag football.

Goats

*Big Ben is number two in passing yardage in the NFL. Although the first game was bad Ben, he is starting to click again with the offense. Which is good because it will be needed more and often.

* He is bringing us some good Juju Smith-Schuster. Don't look now but Ju is 3rd in the NFL in receiving yardage. No better slot WR in the NFL.

* Hilton - I am giving credit where credit is due. The kid is like the energizer bunny of the defense.

* It is getting harder and harder to hate on Bud Dupree. Hopefully this ship steady's the course.

Antidotes

* With Haden solid when he is on the field. I think they should cheat a S over the top of the Burns/Sens rotation more and often. If you wondered initially what the Steelers should bring in in free agency in the offseason, there is probably no misgivings within Steelersnation now.

*That LB lining up in coverage on a TE, should never be again, ever.

*Boz whatever approach you went with last year, yeah do that now.

* Steelers almost turned Ryan into Fitz tragic. That pressure thing, yeah do that often.

I'm starting to think the Switz pick up was huge for us. I no longer stress over kick returns, and I think he will see more action in the offense as the season goes on.

Absolutely.

And I have not seen mention of this fact ... immediately before the Steelers last possession, when they picked up 2 first downs and won the game, Switz fielded an incredible punt OVER HIS HEAD, Willie Mays-like, while running away from the punter on a dead sprint, caught the punt at the 16 and returned it to the 31.

If as 99% of punt returners would have done, Switz lets the ball land and roll towards the endzone, I say the punt dies at the 3 yard line.

That catch and return were incredible. Ignored, not commented on, and simply astounding.

I bet that is good coaching....

Maybe we finally got a player that didn’t need to be coached. Where was that great coaching the last 5+ years with returners?

regarding this point, I think they just got gassed out, and rightfully so. Almost all the 2nd half they were on the field and the first half they had an inmmense display of energy and effort that probably left them a bit empty. Rotate more I guess, also we need more time consuming drives on offense to close out games

I think it was Cope that pointed out the drop off started around the time Hilton left the game. Between his coverage and blitzing ability, they miss him when he isn't on the field.

Good thing is with him and Haden you have two pieces in place that can help your D. I think Davis is still learning FS, and you have a rookie in there still adjusting to the NFL. So there is some room for growth, thankfully.

Jerome BETIS use to say it was where the front point of the ball was being carried, it should be higher than the back. He put on several NON-Fumble campaigns so maybe Conner could take note

I hope this continues and soon with Hilton's injury

I think he is just a rookie trying to get more targets............ AB has gotta get his.........

One of the best acquisitions this year. TOTALLY glad for his return duties and flair

* OL Mcdonald is whom the bell tolls and taking souls.
OUR bell is silent but maan does VANCE bring a ring !!

BY far best clip of the season

That just might quiet those he is always injured boo birds.

Unfortunately the league has a lot of "flag" football in mind. Keeping the scorer's healthy for the FF crowd

AGREE but also notice the "D" played better too. We will need both at the road wines along.

It's the young eneregy he brings with his play. KNOCK you out yet catch and run. I've got the size for both

* Hilton - I am giving credit where credit is due. The kid is like the energizer bunny of the defense.
AGAIN I hope the injury is fast away

* It is getting harder and harder to hate on Bud Dupree. Hopefully this ship steady's the course.
He had a GREAT game and I'm hoping he continues forward (did joey help)

That is nearly as ****** UP as the 2DL set

*Boz whatever approach you went with last year, yeah do that now.
He will be fine. PERIODE

* Steelers almost turned Ryan into Fitz tragic. That pressure thing, yeah do that often.
fake McGregor is on borrowed time as the STEELERS showed other teams what to do. He can't escape

Great post slash

Salute the nation

Agree 100% with the Switz comment! He looks very good, makes the most of every opportunity, plays with energy and power, is not afraid of contact. Love this guy already.

I bet that is good coaching....

And perhaps a reason Brown is pissed off. Ju-Ju takes his slot routes, Switzer his punt returns and short stuff out of the back field.

But yes, there is better coaching by Randy Fichtner in using Switzer's talents. Haley was a dunce. pulling the QB sneak from the playbook, and hardly using play action.

Not only to close out games but to keep the defense on the sideline. The worst thing that Ben and company can do right now is go 3 and out.

Papillon

McDonald is season mvp.
Boy just took Conte's soul and took his family

So now that Bell is gone you dont like Brown?

I absolutely love Switzer as a returner. he's always square to the ball and moving forward when it's caught, unless it's over his head, and he still tracked it and got yardage.

I'm just not sold on his hands. I reviewed him this year when we traded for him, and he just has bad hand technique. Watch that TD catch. Bounced off of both hands and his upper thigh before securing it. It's because his hands weren't effaced to the football, they were low and away and not in a catch ready position. Work with AB, JuJu, and Washington on the jugs. They have perfect hand tech.
