Steelers -chiefs game day thread - lets get it !!

Defense is pure garbage

Cut them all and start over

We have how many first or second round picks on defense?
You're playing a team that spreads the ball every where, yet you continue to trot your slow *** ILBs onto the field at the same time, and just 2DL, so there's no push up the middle, which is a must vs quick throwing teams and there's no speed in the middle of the field. Tomlin continues to think that's a good idea, why, I have no ******* clue and obviously he doesn't either

Knowing how Tomlin coaches he will bench Matakevich for hitting the kicker. This defense players and coach have some questions to answer. I know we will all blame Ben for missing the long passes, we have been spoiled in the past. This defense gave up everything in the second half , We think we have some talented players but the talent and coaches went to KC today. Hate to say it , I hate when we lose especially as today but with this schedule coming up we could be in a world of hurt . Passing continues to beat our secondary and with Tampa, Atlanta, Baltimore and Bungals coming it may really stand out. I thought with last weeks cave in that coming home, hearing all the negative rumble this week in the media world, the Steelers would have been ready to go. We will not see another trophy with Tomlin, leading his coaches, that he hires so they don't stand out above him. This year after two games not a lot of up side. We see Brown on sidelines not happy with something, getting into it with the coaches, Hayward talking to the defense as they just look at him, today we saw the down side of the Steelers, poor tackling. not getting off the field on third down, coverage pee poor. Some offensive players made some plays to get them back in the game but once again we watched a QB basically throwing to the same pattern in third quarter especially in the middle of field,and no answer by this defense. We the fans seem to see all the weakness as well as other teams yet Tomlin seem clueless on the sidelines .Enough I know, I'm going to have another beer,
 
I should be angry, but I just don't have the energy to be angry anymore.

No thanks. The only time Dick had a good defenses is when we were loaded with talent on that side of the ball. Every other time he didn't those kinds of players his defense was average at best, no matter where he went.
 
Average at best? Wow...OK guy

Are you talking pre or post Tomlin's hire?

Lebeaus defense went downhill when Tomlin started getting involved.

True. Completely different vibe, but I expect similar outcomes if we don't have a head coach change. I ******* hated Mark Stallone. Probably because we didn't draft Marino, but that Stallworth episode capped it.

Offense will need to put up 40-45 for the team to win. Last three games by this defense (including 2017 playoffs) - 45 allowed, 21 allowed to Cleveland in a driving rainstorm, 42 allowed.

That's 108 points in the last three games - 36 per game average.

You would think but it’s the NFL things change week to week
Bucs are supposed to be one of the worst teams in the league,they are playing over there heads

I don’t pay much attention to September games,it’s a long season

Yes but that is not applicable to the conversation as per the STEELERS,, Lebeau did very well as DC in Pittsburgh under Cowher and a couple years with Tomlin with the talent that he had. Made the schemes/plays work as to the talent on the field.

Marvin Lewis had an all time great defense in Baltimore and then went to Cincy and hasn't done ****, it's Cincy and cursed. He was DC for a whopping two years in Tennessee. He helped build the defense here, he gets credit for that

My knee jerk reaction;

**** can Mike Tomlin at the end of the season. Go after Todd Wash (D Coord) in Jax and get this team righted.
I think Mike Tomlin has nothing more to give as a coach
