Lets get something straight

How many players like this do we have, leadership wise?

Woodson
Hines
Lake
Lloyd
Greene
Bus
Troy (quiet)
Harrison
Farrior
Aaron Smith
Keisel
Neil O'Donnell
Heath

If you’re not in the locker room on a daily basis, you have no idea. Feel free to keep speculating though.

Leaders seem to help bind a team together through thick and thin. Leadership reflects on the whole team because it impacts the whole team imo.

Dont sell yourself short. You too could be a drunken sage.

Steelin, Charles has a lot of things in him.... But ................ I don't think "sage" is one of them......... Sorry

Professionals shouldn’t need leaders. I’m not motivated to do my job because a co-worker is leading me. If a workplace suffers from a lack of discipline and focus, it’s up to management to fix it.

Good leaders are an asset in team sports, the military and such...but unlike you who sits in a cubicle all day having a leader may not be that important.

I was thinkin' the same thing. In order for a leader to be an asset there has to be a team concept. A lot of large office type jobs, including most gov't complexes separate their employees into individual units and tasks with their immediate supervisor as their only direct contact.

Or in Trogs case....

That's all a load of bullshit, leaders my ***

What we need is a QB that isn't so swollen headed cocky that he gives away a game turning the ball over with a 2 TD LEAD AND 5 MINUTES TO GO!

Trying to force everything to AB all game long didn't help either, add 2 more picks

Ayep!

Have to agree with Spike here.
Ben forced a lot of throws last week.

Hopefully Ben learns as it's only one week.

Ben's home-vs-road splits were an issue for several years, but he seemed to level out that difference last season. I don't know why this is, but in prior seasons he had some ugly splits.

2017 - 16 TD's, 8 int. Home vs. 12 TD, 6 int. Road
2016 - 20 TD's, 5 int. Home vs. 9 TD, 8 int. Road
2015 - 16 TD's, 7 int. Home vs. 5 TD, 9 int. Road
2014 - 23 TD's, 4 int. Home vs. 9 TD, 5 int. Road

Counting the opener on the road, the totals for the past 4-plus seasons, Ben has posted 75 TD's, 24 int. at home vs. 36 TD's, 31 int. road.

Cannot win on the road by turning the ball over.

It was Connor's turnover that turned the game around. Just saying.

I'd be curious to see the splits on other top QB's home and away. I would bet that only Rogers and Brady have better splits.

And you would be wrong.

Stafford - 60-19 Home vs. 47-26 Road
Ryan - 54-29 Home vs. 53-20 Road
Wilson - 53-17 Home vs. 56-20 Road
Brees - 71-26 Home vs. 54-25 Road

Those stats cover 2014-2017. Nobody has anywhere near the terrible ratios on the road, or the massive discrepancy.

They have the same combined number of rings as Ben, I'll take those rings over the splits

So I stand corrected. Not a big deal. Look I get it, people are pissed off, but blaming Ben for this game is kind of nonsensical don't you think?

The problem with this team and the last few years is that the "leaders" aren't the best players on the team so they can't back it up. All those guys mentioned earlier were All Pros and some future HOFers and led their teams through domination on the field so guys could get behind them and aspire to be great.

Who's the vocal leader on the D now...Vince Williams? Blah And maybe Mike Mitchell in years past? Blah again

I see zero leadership in the secondary except for maybe Joe Haden and he was just a recent arrival. Everyone talks about how the D took a downward spiral after Shazier went down last year but look at this team once Haden went down in the first game. The D went from lockdown to Swiss cheese immediately and carried over into the entirety of game 2.

Heyward is probably as close as we get to the old school leader type guys we have now on the D but the scheme is completely different now than when say Aaron Smith and Kiesel were here.

Our best players on O are premadonnas and only focused on themselves. I could see Conner developing into a leader on O because it looks like he gives a damn, which is more than can be said for a lot of this team right now. The same could be said for Watt for the D.
