Could TJ be the next great catalyst on D following Polamalu/Shazier?

I know Ryan hasn’t played as long as a Troy did, or won the accolades, but had he not suffered the spinal injury he was probably moving to that role. We have TJ playing with his hair on fire this year and was pretty impactful last year. Could he become that x-factor player on other D?

I don't see Shazier at that same level as Troy, or Harrison, or Porter when they were the best at their position for us. Shazier over ran quite a few plays and missed quite a bit of tackles. For sure he was a play maker on the defense, I just don't think you can place him next to Troy as far as greatness goes. Troy changed how safeties in the league are deployed.

Watt has the pedigree. Lets see if he can stay healthy and if he keeps racking up sacks old Michael Strahan is going to have to worry about the season sack record going down.

I definitely think Watt will be a game changing player. He has already shown signs of it and he will only get better. If they continue to let him rush the passer, I can easily see him getting to 15 sacks. But, they keep dropping him into coverage a lot and that will hurt his chances.

He's starting to change the game, but the difference between all the other players listed (including Shazier), is their ability to create turnovers. 4 sacks, I'd hope 1-2 of those result in the ball being on the ground. He's got to bring that hammer down.

I love his potential, and he did make the game saving block on the FG, so yes he's trending to becoming special. If he's consistent with that type of play, he will get there eventually.
