Just rewatched the game and a few things surprised me:

If I get credit from you, I'm doing something wrong. If I really wanted to, it has little to do with football and everything to do with brown nosing your favorites shades sporting coach.

Couldn't the same be said that you are biased against Tomlin regardless of if he does a good job or not? Claiming he's brown nosing can be turned around on you that your just anti Tomlin no matter what. 80-90% of your stuff on this board is fluff, your like our very own Mike Florio

Our very own Mike Florio? I don't think he's a Steeler fan. He once said he grew up liking the Vikings.

I want the Steelers head coach that formulate a strategy, make player respect the profession, knows how to finish a game, and is capable of making in-game adjustments when needed. I don't want an expert with the media, who essentially says nothing but sounds good while doing it.

Yikes, that Florio reference flew over your head. I was saying Florio is a fluff sports persona, says a ton of crap and 80-90% of it is garbage, you are this board's Florio, whether he's a Steelers fan or not lol

Burns, Bostic, Williams, Edmunds, and Sutton were very solid.

Just wanted to point out the disaster we all saw coming after pre-season at ILB didn't materialize. I was pleasantly surpised by Jon Bostic in this game. This is what Tomlin/Colbert must have seen from him on tape when they signed him. He's a starter-capable inside backer, a huge need for us obviously coming into this season. Just wasn't sure on him until this game. I think his play will continue to improve the more time he logs next to VWill and they start developing a rapport like Vince had with Shazier. Again, huge sigh of relief, I was expecting the worst.

I felt that we avoided throws in the middle of the field. The DBs were playing man press on our WRs. We could have released Conner off chip blocks with check down passes like we did early in the game during the second half. James didn't do us any favors with his tipped ball INT. We really could have used McDonald at TE to make plays in the middle of the field. We did find Juju, but not enough. I really feel like Juju is going to bust out and become a monster for us but Ben locked in on AB in double and triple coverage too often. They also need to get Washington on the field and let the kid play.

Nail meets hammer here....

Those who re-watched the game, please confirm we had that play all-day long, but didn’t use it enough. 1st pass from Ben was to AB (poor throw) tried it with JuJu and boom....they were giving the underneath stuff to take away the outside. Conner benefited from it with runs and check down passes....

You are an idiot. Through and through. Calling someone a brown nose when your whole prose is agenda driven to what you think is right.

You make all these “statements” how bad Player A is with spot references, or how stupid a coach is for doing something when you don’t even have a clue yourself.

Tomlin is no different than what Cowher was in regards to handling his team. Both have made bone headed calls, have had poor game planning on occurrence. No coach is infallible (you may think you are), but no matter how you look at it, the team and the players have been successful since Coach Noll retired. Cowher had more veterans to lean on, and social media wasn’t the problem it is now with players.

You state you don’t want an expert with the media.....you are clueless. Both act the SAME towards the press...they loath the media but understands its part of the job. Coach Noll, detested the national media to no end since they were the reason he got sued by Oakland players and Mel Blount. Cowher is more approachable now since he is part of the media circus.

Your idiocy is even more pronounced when you don’t even know that Florio (the former atty/agent) went to WV, was born in Wheeling -Steeler Country. Also graduated from Carnegie Mellon, and realized the potential of web media before everyone else and left player representation for it. He’s smart, and understands press “traffic”. Which is why he’s successful and has a contract with NBC.

It’s interesting that you have said “you’ve actually have done some coaching (at what level is unknown...if at all), and present yourself as a football expert, but have continuously shown the most limited understanding of “strategy” or game concepts, player role or definition. You more or less require self gratification rather than objective discussion of board topics.

Don’t give coaching too much credit. They failed to help out big Al, could have thrown a screen or two to slow down Garret, and targeted Brown too often.

Conner needed a break. He never got one.

Cowher ball seldom surrenders a lead. Look it up. The Steelers should have used Nix more often and gone 2 TE set with a 14 point lead.

Don't give the coaches too little credit. I did the research and you have an opinion.

And he did just that. If not for the turnovers... Derp...

Surprised how well watt did given how much pre season he missed.

That was my biggest surprise. Kind of debunks the Big Ben narrative, especially since he took a MAJORITY of the snaps in preseason. Games don't mean ****, it's the prep.

What I noticed most, wasn't going to the middle, It was missing wide open receivers and dropped passes, some leading to INTs.

That ought to have been debunked by the several starters that played about the same or less in preseason and played well in the first game. The narrative is the narrative.

That many turnovers isn't just rust, though. It is a bad game. It might be some rust, some weather related, blah, blah, blah, but it was a ****** up game.

Probably, just not making one of those turnovers (Connor's, Ben's or anyone else's) wins that game

Did he kill it again?

He had as many offsides penalties as he did tackles. He is garbage!

I'm not ready to give up on this team in September. Not in my DNA. Some of us fans are more mentally tough than others...

You want to ride a guy vs a QB getting the ball out under 3sec and closer to 2? Don't think Dupree could have done much unless he was wearing a jet pack.

Dupree sucks.

It was so easy to see against a decent tackle like Eric Fisher.
