A moment of reverence for a watershed moment in many of our lives. Though this day was tough on America, I remember it for being at work in the BWI flight path. When the second tower fell, all of the businesses in our area were told to vacate in case they had to bring down a plane in the BWI flight path.

I called my wife (girlfriend at the time) and told her to stay home, and not go to work. I got home, and we stayed together for the day as the horror unfolded. My best friend worked with me, and his Dad worked at the pentagon. I sent him home as soon as we heard the news of it being hit. Fortunately it was hit on the side under construction, and there were few casualties, relatively speaking. It was over 100, but would have been close to 600 if that section was fully staffed.

At 6pm I was supposed to get the keys to my first house and showed up to await the arrival of the sellers. They didn't show until I called, and was let in 4 hours later. We moved that night and watched nothing but news for the next 3 days.

Please share your stories as well. We can discuss the Tie, strategies, Bell, and ways to improve, as well as KC. I'm open to all topics.

Today was 2 Vodka and Bubly seltzers with fresh lemon. I did Lemon and Strawberry. Now I'm having a Star Hill IPA (Northern Lights). Share your drink choices and let's talk some football and life!

I also dropped 2 articles today:

As the Game Turns (which will be a weekly segment)

and Connors Leads the League!

If you want to discuss those, I am all ears as well.

Watched the game a second time today, without throwing my daughters blocks across the room, and got a lot more insight on the game, so I'm feeling much more positive about our season.

That's the booze talking. :tongue3:

Yeah, it was pretty tough to read and see some 9/11 stuff today. And watching a little bit of the Shanksville tribute, it made me think about the incredible courage of those people who already knew their fate. And the movie United 93, a great underrated movie (probably because of the subject matter, but a must-see at least once).

When Steelers win SB LIII what percentage of people here will say the had faith in them even when they were giving it up game one?

Coach will say he was always right about coach Tomlin being an incredible coach. Berry being the best punter ever, and Moving Davis to FS was the only way they could resurrect his horrible ability....

Yes all true but you didn’t give me a percentage as per my question

Are you drunk or something?[emoji57]

Whelp, ya got me there. I'd say 100% No one throws shade for a super bowl win. That would just be nonsense, unless you are on the losing side, then this board would explode into a cavalcade of I was rights, and I told you sos, and fire dem coaches....

I always wanted to do an ask ... article. I always found them fun and fascinating, I'm not as excited at the ones on post Gazette and Steelers Live, but I do love Alex Koroza's on Steeler Depot. He lives the Steelers even more than I do.

This is my escape. I love the Steelers and always have. There was a vacuum when TMC left, and I made a point to understand all of the rules and the Salary Cap. I will never approach Del or TMC's knowledge of scouting players, but I love reading them. And I love reading any article I can find on the Steelers.

I read from about 8 different sites daily, and I read each and every post in the football forum. This site is incredible for discussion, knowledge, and ideas. It takes a lot of work to write unique, interesting articles, and I'm challenging myself to be as entertaining and informative as paid sites or paid writers for that matter ;)

I won't lie, it is difficult to be motivated after a loss (or a tie for that matter), but giving myself a break and coming back to the game without emotion is helping. Watching the game a second time is giving me a lot of material, and I will be able to stay relevant in the Steeler news landscape if I keep with this tactic.

Thanks for reading and providing input and discussion to my articles. I love open discussion and conversation, and it helps me become a better writer the more we all interact.

Cope, I set an all new personal best on my High end surf ski kayak. I was in dead water (not River) and I traveled 10.164 ft per second average speed with 24 seconds stopped time. How far did I travel in 1hr and seven minutes..........????

NOTE: One part of the equation is tricky.........

Oh and by the way you are looking at champion speed for distance Kayak Racing (50 and 74 mile races)

On a solem note of 911, I was very much encouraged by the victims of flight 93. In the face of tragedy they remained TRUE AMERICANS with the freedoms faught and died for by many. At the time I was a little down on society in general but after this whole ordeal we, as a nation, were drawn closer together regardless of our differences. I felt faith, courage, right from wrong were very strong amongst us. I just felt very sorry that a tragedy had to bring that out in many of the people. I listened and watched a little today and can't but help that some of that is still among us. I don't want another tragedy to happen but I do want us as a nation to heal and pull together as in the past. Soldiers / armed forces / have faught / died / wounded / ect. For our freedom and our country represented most by our flag. ANYTHING of any nature to disrespect that is heartfelt and deep. Thank You to all.

The widow of the pilot from flight 93 (you know that Pittsburgh plane that was forced down , by some heroes) never got over her husband passing. 11 years later, she passed from a overdose.

So many sad, tearful connections to that horrific day.

Some of these political millennials you wonder if they 'get it". Because everyone should be about bringing the country together instead of tearing it apart.

Regardless, I feel for the ones who lost their lives and their family and friends. America got a taste of evil that day.

My hope is all the people responsible get theirs one way or another.

I was at work at a Ford plant in Sandusky, Ohio...

Production was an afterthought as most of us made our way into every breakroom and the cafeteria to watch the TV...

Surreal for sure..

What are your tips/tricks for not being a grumpy ******* summabitch the day after a loss (tie)?

Just because I know the percentages of a Tie vs a Loss. My wife did have to remove my daughter from the room when OT hit. I lost my **** when Ben threw the last INT in OT. I thought that was the loss. I was given some light at the end of the tunnel when Watt made that insane block. He's a special kid and that draft class last year, was a monster!

I went to the flight 93 memorial the last time I visited Latrobe for Steeler camp. It's very convenient to hit both on the same day. What a beautiful, emotional place for healing. I suggest if any Steeler fan visits Latrobe to take the detour tot he memorial for some history.

I'm for open beliefs in this country, and it's tough to understand the perspective of children that didn't experience or remember 911. It's tough for them to understand the gravity of the moment, being too young to remember it. I'm not going to fault them for not having that understanding, but I'm hopeful for all of us learning from that moment, coming together, and moving forward together, regardless of race, religion, or political affiliation.

What a weird day for sure. We didn't have a TV in our office, but next door was a soccer/ appearal company, and we went into the back to watch the news, which is where I saw the towers collapse. I'm sure a lot of people didn't accomplish much that day.

I also remember a ton of false reports of car bombings in DC. We thought the world was ending that day.

I had just shooed everyone out of my office and back to work and sat down to finish my birthday cake (yeah, it is) when I heard on the radio that a plane hit the WTC. I'm thinking it was a small plane and how do you miss a building like that? Then 15 minutes later I hear that a second plane hit the other WTC. I thought to myself that was no accident and it was probably Muslims. We had a small TV that we only used for showing training videos but we found the rabbit ears that came with it and taped them to the wall to watch the news. Tuesday was my golf league at 3:00 then and I went, reasoning that if we let the bad people change how we live then they win. One other guy showed up and we played our usual 9 holes. The county airport is next to the golf course and by then all planes were grounded so it was very quiet. I hate Muslims since they ruined the party for the rest of my life.

That day was so full of confusion. I was in richmond va. I remember my friend called her dad when the first plane struck. Her dad was high up in the military. He told her immediately to stay where she was that it wasnt an accident and it wasnt over. Then the 2nd plane hit and everyone knew. Such a sad day

I was in downtown Jacksonville in the courthouse when I saw that news flash of the first plane hitting. I was like man someone really messed up. Then the other one hit and knew we'd be going to war. I spent the next few days glued to the TV sad and very pissed off. You saw that no matter what issues we have with each other we will unite if you attack us. American flags flying on cars, houses in windows. So glad to see that. It was a rare unity I only see with steeler fans.

I'm glad the son of a ***** behind it met his end with a round between the eyes. He got off easy. ******* prick.
