Game Goats:
Ben Roethlisberger - 5 Turnovers....3 INT's, 2 Fumbles.....maybe he doesn't have it anymore! WORST GAME OF HIS CAREER IMO!
James Conner - yup he had 192 all purpose yards but that costly fumble earns him a Game Goat!
Chris Boswell - You blew chunks when it mattered most!
Mike Tomlin - Clueless is the best word I can use to describe this guy. He never throttles an opponent no matter who it is! This guy is just not a very good coach!
Artie Burns - You are one dumb mother ******! Guy has a two cent brain and average at best athletic talent! Looked like Delton Hall out there!
Bud Dupree - This guy is a complete ******* joke for an NFL LB'er. I'm ready to see Matthew Thomas replace him.

FU's:
FU to the ****** officiating......terrible calls all around....not reversing that punt that clearly hit a Clowns player was ******* DISGRACEFUL! **** YOU!

Bottom line, bad coaching and missed plays cost us

James with what should have been a catch that turned into an interception.
Brown not running the right route / locating a deep ball. Interception.
Davis just missing an interception.
Tomlin not giving Conner a breather, and punting when Boswell coudl have made a long field goal.
Turtle ball coaching. Enough said.
Not giving Al V help when he was having a rough day ( coaching again )
Boswell missing. A rarity.
Ben having a bit of an off day.

Okay the rain and wind made it tougher, but those stupid penalties. Enough already...

Speaking of penalties, did anyone else notice the disparity by half for the two teams? We had, what, 2 penalties in the first half, followed by 11 in the second half? While the clowns had 9 in the first half, followed by, what, 2-3? **** was like watching the NHL today.

Switzer had a jet sweep and Ben ran, but no other RBs.

I also think the best move in the 4th was to keep Connor in the game. You don't want to add variables in that muck game, plus he's the single best option at blitz pickup. Ridley and JaySam would have been abused on the blitzes. Though Connor isn't perfect at pass pro, he at least had a chance of stopping blitzers on pickups. That is a coaching move people.

I would have preferred they work in Samuels/Ridley earlier in the game to keep Conner fresh for the 4th.

This team continues to frustrate me year to year to year. It is definitely a Tomlin/Roethlisberger thing. They are the leaders. How they prepare is how the team prepares.

Far too many times (especially on the road against weak teams) we just play way too flat, way too mistake prone, way too many penalties.

6 turnovers, almost 120 yards in penalties and a missed FG.

Team was not prepared. Team doesn't play smart. And consistently does not play situational football to better their odds at winning football games.

I will say this, and I rarely ever go against our team. I definitely am guilty of wearing black and gold glasses, but I can honestly see us going 0-5-1 into the bye week. KC looked really solid and complete yesterday, as did the Bucs in New Orleans. The Ravens destroyed Buffalo and had a killer mentality in that game. We don’t have that mentality as displayed yesterday with our “turtle” game. Finally, Atlanta and Cincy are push games and could go either way. I sure hope this is not the case.
I am NOT the sky is falling type of person. However, after yesterday’s performance and how every team we face afterwards performed; it really is a concerning reality.

Week 1 is often an anomaly too. Teams are never consistent in their level of play week to week. You can’t project future games based on that. We will not be 0-5-1, period

oh, and a 0-0-16 record still isn't a losing record...
 
Lots of things happen in game one that will be changed / better/ to probably not happen again. I'll say Rothlesberger does NOT have another 5 turnover game this year.

Switzer looks like a legitimate KR/PR threat. I was happy to see more positive/smart plays from the return game. This kid should take a couple to the house this year.

Good start, I love that we are not using AB there. Hopefully he builds off of it and gives us some positive splash plays.

One thing for sure he isn't afraid to not fair catch it. Kid looks like he has no fear.
