Would the Steelers really miss Bell?

Conner fumbled the game away

End of story

Why only $50 mill a year? **** ...start Dobbs over Ben. With Bell making $50 mill plus we would be set.

If Conner does next week what he is doing this week and Bell is still out, you have to think about entertaining trade offers. At least you will get something for him.

Unless someone wants to trade two first-round picks, there's no point since that's what we get anyway.

huh? they get a third round comp if he walks next year. This year they get whatever you negotiate for and accept. And if not enough you don't accept it....

Oh right, the first-rounders are if he has a non-exclusive tag. I'd still let him sit though.

One thing is for sure ol Lev fail can't get hurt camping out at the strip club until 4am the morning of the game.

Well unless the stripper bruises his um

groin.

Thank you Bell for this great memory...now GTFO of Pittsburgh.

Bell vs Conner. Game 1. 2017 vs 2018.

One man wants to be here is 1/16th of the cost, has never been suspended, and by all accounts is a class guy. The other has drawn fire from his teammates, and has been suspended.

Ah, but how do compare as starting backs. We have a full game sample:

Bell's stats: 10 rushes, 32 yards ( 3.2 per rush ) 3 catches, 15 yards ( 5.0 yards per catch ) 0 TD's.

Conner stats: 31 rushes, 135 yards ( 4.35 per rush ) 5 catches, 57 yards ( 11.4 yards per catch ) 2 TD's. 1 fumble

The same opponent, actually the Browns are better this year already, vastly different results. I know who's starting next week.

PS James Connor made us NOT miss MEon Bell at all this week. Our coaching staff showed us they will run the wheels till they fall off regardless of who is back there.

Coach has a point, now what do we do??????

Nothing the Steelers can do but day off then prep for their first home game. The media will nauseate their agenda. The fans will wish the drama ended. Bell will continue giving back the team money. First the hoes now the team, make it rain!

But yeah nothing to do but wait. It will be interesting to see the teams approach upon his return. Whenever that will be.

Coach doesn't have ****. 1 game means **** all in stats.

His main point with the bad stats from Bell last year was that he missed camp. Ben didn't miss camp and had a ****** game.

Ben was underused in camp but I don't disagree about Bell. I would counter that Conner was used and had a good camp, and Bell came in rusty do to inactivity. So the body of work is not a good comparison, coach.

The coddling of BigBen in preseason need to stop, he obviously needs his reps.

ark, bottom line is Conner did real well and Bell is off to the pole club. I just stuck Coach's point in there. We did A-ok with out Bell and proved our coaches will run the wheels off of who ever is back there.

I would have liked to see Ridley or Samuels getting some touches to keep Conner somewhat fresh. He had a great game, but that fumble could have been the result of fatigue. When is the last time he carried the ball that many times? At Pitt? That was a heavy workload coming out of the gate. He was up to the task, but was hoping the coaching staff would have been a bit smarter using him.

The fumble was the result of Big Al getting whipped by Garrett and him slapping the ball right out. I'm sure the rain also had something to do with it.

I agree of both accounts, but the ball wasn't secured either, esp in rain. Garrett was a beast in the 4th quarter. AV needed help.

I have to admit Conner did look really good. Much better than last year. I think i might have been wrong about him, regardless, He's still nowhere near a Bell Caliber back,
Fumbling away victory in your first career start after having a great game is brutal. Feel bad for the kid.
That was a hell of a Rashard Mendenhall impersonation.

How do you figure? If Bell plays this year out and leaves next year like we all expect, we get nothing for him. If they can get a trade that gives us a number 1, you take it in a heart beat. We would then have two first round picks next year.

At this point, if Bell comes back this week, we hold him out the 2 weeks allowed so he misses three game checks. That saves us $2.5 million in cap space. Add that to the money from restructuring McDonald and Heyward and we have some cap money to spend. We should be all over the trade wires right now looking for someone to upgrade our D.

The fumble looked like a high handoff, ball needed to be in the belly with a two touchdown lead.

Likely scenario is Bell comes back beginning of bye week giving him two weeks to practice, only 10 week reduced work-load season
and 2 paychecks for those two first weeks. In that scenario, I could see the sign and trade coming more into the picture if Connor
continues to perform at high level. The more Bell's cap hit gets reduced the more teams come into play. Right now I would put
San Fran and Oakland in as likely suitors. San Fran might have won yesterday with a running game.

The ball looked like it was away from his body. He will learn from that. We still had a 7 point lead after the fact until the low snap Ben tried to play and ended up losing. I'm putting this loss on 7 more than on anyone else. Note I said loss, because a tie ******* feels like a loss especially to a team we ******* dominated save for turnovers and penalties.
