College Football Saturday

Penn State looking to get upset today. They look like ****. Offense is doing squat.

There’s no reason to EVER play Appalachian State. If you win it is expected if you lose there’s 0 chance at the Championship game

Let's go Vols!

I thought it was going to be a blowout for WVU but the Vols have settled down and WVU seems to have cooled off. Grier missed a couple easy throws and his WRs dropped a couple catch able passes. Could be a lot worse. Sort of a snoozer actually. Must be week 1. :)

Lions look like hot garbage.

Yeah that's the way I see it too. Wouldn't shock me if WV gets their act together and dominates the second half.

PSU starting to move. Great drive by McSorley. Dude will be an NFL QB.

PSU appears to realize the season started. Up 24-10 now.

Looks like PSU doesn't want to be ranked...

WE ARE......horrible. Franklin has had some 3-4 really good recruiting classes. This is a really bad showing.

Grier from WVU might make a decent pro QB. Will be interesting to watch his progression.

Vols were doing somewhat good until halftime. then just kinda folded and are going through the motions.
though Tim Jordan looks like a mini Jamal Lewis out there.

PSU Hangs on! What a game!!

I happened to tune in the 4th quarter, That was a fun game to watch!
The efforts of the kids on both sides and the strategizing that went on.
AND THE BEST PART? I CAN"T RECALL SEEING A PENALTY!!!

App state is a legit franchise. I used to watch them play Lycoming College for the champtioship every year before they moved up.

UH starts off slowly but rally's for the win....Ed Oliver with 13 tackles / 3.5 tackles for a loss out of his nose guard spot

Yep. They took down Michigan some years ago, and they also got a big win last year. I was surprised how well they did at PSU, but then not considering their history and the fact that PSU is replacing 8 starters on defense, and 4 or 5 on offense.

As for PSU, I expect them to struggle at times this season, and I can see a season somewhere between 7-5 and 9-3 for them. But they are gonna be damn good going forward. No doubt.

But not a good day for ex-Cougars trying to stay in the NFL.

Cuts include: Ayers, Dunbar, Farrow, Mbu and Ward.

(I bet Ayers wouldn't turn down the Steelers now if they offered him a PS spot.)

he was an idiot for turning it down last season....showed a bit of an attitude that was disappointing.

I really liked Ayers. Still think he has a ton of potential. I guess the real evaluators don't feel the same.

App State made me nervous as a first opponent. They are a solid team and they added a few veteran transfers. Their offense is complex. You have to defend a spread out passing offense with RPOs. That's a tough first game.

PSU has a bunch of new starters on D and you saw lots of blown coverages. App's QB played a near perfect game. There were several plays where PSU had tight coverage and he dropped in a perfect pass for a big completion. He was making the right reads and quickly.

PSU is also breaking in a lot of new faces on offense. The OL will be good but hasn't played together enough yet. It seemed McSorley did not trust anybody but Juwan Johnson who is his only returning skill player. Late in the game when he started looking at other targets, the offense moved.

It's a new OC too and he seems to still be figuring out everybody's role.

Lot of freshmen and Soph got playing time and you saw the uneven results. Great plays followed by mistakes.
