By Brandon Wallace SteelerNation.com LATROBE, PA – Multiple reports regarding Pittsburgh Steelers‘ all-pro quarterback Ben Roethlisberger*indicate that he was holding his head as he went down during Tuesday’s practice. Sources say that he threw a pass during a drill, but there’s no official word on what made him take to the ground*there afterward. Once Roethlisberger […]

Sounds precautionary.....

I don't like that he wasn't hit at all and went down holding his head for no apparent reason. Hopefully nothing serious is wrong medically.

Yeah from what I read, he was rolling out and Gilbert got shoved into him and Ben somehow fell and landed on his head.

He was rolling right and while throwing a TD pass to JuJu Gilbert got backed into him and Ben fell backwards and hit his head on the grass. Bang bang play.....all precautionary. Ben doesn’t take any chances when he gets his bell rung. He’s told everyone as much in the past.

So he wasn't wearing a helmet?

No.

I thought he had titanium plates in his head from that motorcycle accident. Didn't think he needed a helmet.

I think he just realized he made Coach's top 50 STEELERS list..!!!!!!!

Salute the nation

He'll need to work to move up! Word is Ben took the offseason seriously by hiring a nutritionist and is in the best shape he's been in for years.* Tomlin thinks he's having a very good camp.

One of the media folks commented Ben was wearing his helmet. His impact with ground is what caused his bell being rung.

One of my two diagnosed concussion came from face planting my head in ground face first with my helmet on. Totally self inflicted during practice warm ups.

Yeah that’s what confusing....On Twitter they said Ben was down face first in the grass for a couple of minutes. But, they also said Ben got knocked back off his feet after Gilbert was pushed into him by Adams. So I would think he hit the back of his head on the ground. But until we see the vid who knows. No worries though. Tench said it gives the team an excuse to have the young QBs get more reps.

Mine was on a kick return. A man sized player grabbed my 155lb jersey, and swung me around. I landed face first on the field. I got the the sideline, and coach started giving me the play (we gave the plays to the WRs and ran on the field back then). I said, Coach, I can't see through my right eye. He said, let me know when you can. It took about 5min, but my sight returned and I went back in the game...

It was a different time back then...

80s-90s

Oh, and it was considered weak to drink water during practice. You were lazy if you ran to the cooler to grab a drink. Luckily none of us died of heat stroke, and we had 3 a days back then!
