Many Steelers fans were left scratching their heads when the team used their first round pick on Virginia Tech safety Terrell Edmunds, but it’s becoming increasingly clear Edmunds has big time potential and could be a standout player on the defensive side of the ball. Edmunds has made the most of his opportunities with Morgan […]

He certainly looks the part. Big kid and everytime I watch clips of him in practice he looks very fluid in his peddle and transitions.

Nice pick. But ben should never have thrown that. Not even in practice

I hope he pans out. We need a few successes in defensive drafting.

Salute the nation

I just get the feeling he was picked to be an answer to the “Gronk problem” for our defense. He’s a big guy who can cover the big TE and doesn’t look like he’d get pushed around by a Gronk type of player.

no, that's exactly what Ben should be doing in preseason practice.
so he'll know he has to lob it a bit more. much rather see that now than in the first playoff game.

after van eshe was off I thought we would go with bama's Harrison, but it looks like Terrell really helped himself at his pro day and combine by running 4.47. if he smart than he is ready for an upgrade over mitchell.

Wouldnt that be a wet dream come true. Edmunds even making it difficult for Gronk. Burns and Haden locking down the wideouts and bringing it at that turd Brady all ****** day!

It's only 6 practices but you can tell Terrell Edmunds is the real deal.

I wish he was more specific but starting to hear quite a bit of this.

Things that are an upgrade over Mitchell:

A blocking sled is an upgrade over Mitchell.
A tackling dummy is an upgrade over Mitchell
A traffic cone is an upgrade over Mitchell
Every safety on this roster, even the ones who won't make the team, are an upgrade over Mitchell...

He has a visit with the Titans, him and Vacarro.

Andrea Mitchell would be an upgrade over Mike Mitchell.

(that might be going a little overboard)

My favorite part is that his teammates are describing him as smart. I feel like that's a quality our defense has lacked in recent years

And a good communicator. Secondary definitely trending in the right direction. Hear Mike Hilton is having a helluva day today at practice. Burns too.

I know it's just TC but the chatter is making me excited about the defense. Or, at the very least, less depressed about the defense

I cross my fingers and hope. They need a few homeruns on defense and young guys to make that jump.

I look at it this way. Burns and Haden should be at least good. Davis and Burnnett/Edmunds has to be an improvement over last year. There will be a saw off in the force unit. You lost tge best player in Shazier but Tuitt played with one arm. Watt should be better and you got slot corners in Hilton and Sutton. All in all the secondary should be the best its been in a long time. The force unit, maybe down a bit but they have time to figure out how to reduce the loss of Shazier.

Didn't he visit PIT West without a contract? I can see signing him in training camp, if you want to build up the confidence of young receivers...

He's a good person, and a great vet locker room presence, but on the field, he's a waste of cleats.
