The Pittsburgh Steelers took the field for another training camp session in pads Sunday afternoon. The intensity of yesterday’s session carried over into day’s session which was equally as spirited. Today’s session storylines; a minicamp signee quietly having a strong camp, a rookie*showing improvements, and injuries beginning to mount. So Steelers fans, let’s go!   […]

I think Vance is made of brittle glass.

A talent for sure..... when he's actually on the field.

I'm not sure what a lot of these guys are doing in the offseason, but it sucks.

All these injuries are not encouraging. What's up with that???

Lets hope Tomlin uses the players that produce. If Patterson has a good camp and does something in pre season, give the kid a chance.

No big injuries with Foster the worst / next.

Just bumps and bruises from playing a contact sport...

I was thinking it had something to do with John Harbaugh's words of guys not being "tough enough", lol.

But I can understand guys not playing football for a a few months, then hitting each other and getting hurt.

Some guys just cant play through it. Some guys seem to pick up major injuries easy. Like Senquez Gholson. Its not like I expect a guy to play through a torn labrum or whatever. Its guys like Vance who always have this problem or that problem that piss me off. Personally if Im the coach Id show him Hines Ward film. And ask him how come this guy almost never missed a game/practice the way he played yet you always a foot ache or whatever the **** you want to call this.

Injuries are a part of the sport. Grown men hit hard. Something has to give. Vance will get paid. Training Camp don't mean nothing, ask LeVeon Bell.

Football is a rough game but your most important ability is availability. It hurts for everyone.

Vance is the definition of injury prone. Not like Golson, who had 2 devistating injuries, Vance gets a different injury every month:

Vance McDonald Back Not on injury report 9/14/17
Vance McDonald Knee Contusion Full Wed Thu Fri 10/22/17
Vance McDonald Ankle Full Wed Thu Fri 11/12/17
Vance McDonald Shoulder Full Thu 12/11/17

And now a Foot. That's 5 different injuries in his time with us.

One good point about having Vance under contract, He has zero guaranteed money. If he's cut, there will be no dead money, so it will be a clean break. This is the type of contract you dream for with an injury prone player. I hope he can recover and play healthy, but he's never done it. He's never played every game in a season, and he's never started more than 11.

And Ward was missing a ACL in one knee. Some guys are China dolls. They're either fragile or **** off too much when it comes to conditioning.

James Washington left practice today with a foot injury.

Hines was one tough mofo. Missing an acl throughout his entire career, the guy could take a hit too.
Not a lot of toughness these days in the nfl. It's rare.

Post-practice video today highlighting Jesse James development as a blocker and some upbeat news on the D. Thought I'd share it here.

Definitely epitomized toughness in the sport and exemplified Steeler football. Hines didn’t even know he was missing an ACL until he was examined at the combine. One of the reasons he fell to the third round.

He also played concussed a few times which wouldn't happen in today's NFL. I'm not questioning his toughness but part of his toughness has rules against it now a days. Even as short a time he has been out of football his play is from a different era and hard to compare to todays' NFL.
