Generate as many pages as it did for the Dri Archer notorious thread. Who if any, in your opinion, had that "NOTORIOUS" thread but missed out??

LeVeon Bell seems to be one of the more obvious ones. He is a **** storm of a topic and some here seemed singlehanded ly to keep it alive. Count the countless thread(s) started and discussed over and over and over and you've got a pretty strong case.

Martavus Bryant would be a second choice seeing how much he has singlehandedly put this team / fans / owner's through both emotionally and physical presents. His was carried out over a long period of disappeared time and that was his down fall to thread legnth fame.

Many other players with the likes of Coats / Eli Rodgers / Coolie's WR dude from Huston.............. All had potential in single long thread post(s) but came up short due to being cut or actually playing way above the expected level.

My most serious candidate would have been the "LONG SNAPPER" named Holba (sp). He had the makings of that **** storm but for some reason the STEELERS realized to soon his short comings and cut him. If he could have stuck for a season which included several misshaps then I think he may have come close to the Archer thread debacle. Holba"s storm just didn't quite line up.

My question to you, Joe STEELERNATION.com reader / poster is this..........

WHO do you think should have pasted the Archer thread in "post & page count".

Should you accept this challenge you will be one of the few who actually have payed attention along this journey.

Bells threads are spread out. If you throw them all together it is looking bulky.

you can't pass up perfection. That thread is legend.

Slash, my sentiments exactly. !!!

What was the real reason the moderator's took it down?? What was the exact page count ?? Does anyone remember that one dupshit who argued the color's? He argued Black & yellow and not BLACK & GOLD as he said our color was yellow. (Pretty sure he was a masked cheatriot fan.) Argued consistantly and dumbassedly for quite awhile on that but it was those kind of personalities that contributed the the Dri "perfect storm" Archer thread.

The Archer thread I think was just a matter of a lot of us liked being right. No one disliked Dri Archer personally. It wasn't his fault that Tombert screwed up and drafted him way too high, then didn't know what to do with him once they had him. More a case of Tombert bashing than it was really about Archer.

Bell is an unlikable ********. A very talented ******** but a ******** nonetheless. Not at all a bad draft pick by Tombert. I'll be glad when the season is over and he's on his way out the door.

Pop the pats fan lulz. Gone but not forgotten.

I'd like to think Uncle Jarvis could've come in a close 2nd. Ole!

Agree. I call Bud Dupree "Jarvis Dupree" in loving memory of Jarvis Jones.
I freely admit that I don't follow college ball or the draft all that much but Uncle Jarvis was one where my prediction was spot-on.

Being a UGA guy, I was happy to see him go to the Steelers.
But realistically, with his medical history, I was shocked he was drafted.

He started his college career at USC to where he suffered a spine injury.
The Trojans medical staff evaluated him and felt it was best he hang them up.

He went back home, got cleared by UGA's medical crew and was decent for a couple seasons.
Definitely a head scratcher pick.

And then witnessed his ****** combine.

Usually when there is multiple red flags Steelers stay clear. I think when he fell from his lofty status, they somehow forgot why. And his run D was exposed in a game too as a question mark. So yeah there was enough there to be a head scratch.

As a fan I was like man this guy fell that far, maybe a gem. I even got caught up a little in the hype.

Made me think differently about players who fell in round 1 in the draft.

Immediately now i am looking closer and thinking uh oh what is wrong with this prospect.

I always liked the typo when Dupree was drafted and accidentally called Durpee. Now it is more appropriate, but I still wish 'Durpee' the best. He has the skillset, he just has to put it together, and the coaches need to use those skillsets so he has a chance to succeed. Hopefully flipping sides will do it for him!

MODs, can we just combine all the Bell threads into one thread. We might get halfway to Archer status. The only downside of the Archer thread, was losing TMC. That wasn't worth it at all...

I call him "Durpee" sometimes too. It's not a typo, I do it on purpose.
Karma sent.

Archer never came close to living up to the Steeler Nation thread status and when you add in the casualty of TMC, definately not worth the status quO. For some reason I thought Coach mis typed the "DURPEE" name. I remembering giving him a little **** about it but he was onto something as hind sight tells.

Those who experienced the "DRI ARCHER" thread, from start to finish, have experienced great lore of the Steeler Nation community.

I honestly thought his run defense was the only thing he did decently

https://www.cbssports.com/fantasy/football/news/cardinals-jarvis-jones-out-with-back-issue/

Jones is out a week with a "disc issue," Darren Urban of the Cardinals' official site reports.

This is not the same injury that planted Jones on the NFI list to begin training camp, as that was a quadriceps issue. Thankfully this new ailment doesn't seem to be anything serious.

I would like to take this opportunity and let everyone know I started the Archer thread. You’re welcome. Lol!!

I think that got "swept" under the table similar to many of the facts with-in the thread. Although you started the thread it was more of a right place at the right time situation for yaz than you honestly believing it would grow out of control upon your original starting post. If I remember correctly that thread smoldered several times through out it's existence and finally maturing to the epic thread that it was. EVERYTHING from Dri Archer to Black & Gold (yellow) to head size and a particular "red head" bar manager I know was discussed and analyzed thoroughly. It was more than just about Archer but it was the LEGEND of Dri Archer that made it what it was. I can thank you for your initial starting of the thread but the E-P-I-C proportion it grew to is beyond a single thank to any individual. Dri Archer may have been the MAIN actor but believe me there were many a many CHARACTERS with in the sub plots.

Here's to you Mr. Archer, long thread bearer and TALL order handler.

So, way back in that draft, I challenged people to give me a list of player who were available at the same time Archer was, one poster her provided a list of selections we would likely "wish we had taken" and a quick google search reveals about half of them are out of the NFL, and a few have gone on to have decent numbers, but no one looks like an Antonio Brown type of miss. This is the problem with hindsight, it's easy to go back to that draft NOW and list the people we should have taken, but in the days and weeks after, THIS was the list-

Bruce Ellington
Rashaad Reynolds
Antonio Richardson
Carl Bradford
Ryan Carrethers
Justin Ellis
Daquan Jones
Jared Abbrederis
Cameron Fleming
Nevin Lawson

The problem with any of this is that list isn't what people come up with, they look back at history and go, OHHHh we shoulda taken "fill in gem name x that no one knew **** about during the draft, but now is really good at the foozball" I KNEW it!
