Fraziuuuuh

How hard can it be to replace big dud? My money is on Frazier for the roster spot.

Not a starter in college .. so he's used to sitting on / coming off the bench! With so many premadonna, "I'm a star, you must play me" "Bryant and Blount" type players in the league, that may be actually better than it sounds.

His DL coach is now with the Steelers. I don't think they would pick him if Dunbar didn't see something there.

And another thing he's used to is winning.

An underachiever that never started a game at Alabama = perfect fit for our weak DL defense! He'll feel right at home!

hahahahahahahaha

Go get em!

The dude at least looks like a football player....Also remember Willie Parker did not see much time in college and he turned out OK

All Tackles have long arms Al, 33" or longer. 34 1/2 ( Okorafor's ) is just a shade above average for arm length at tackle.

I bet our guy had less on the bench that most drafted takes by a good margin. Also the bench is partly a muscle stamina exercise.

Here's our NT in the draft. We could have done better.

His arm length is 64th percentile for O-linemen. Wingspan was 71st percentile. Given that, 19 reps on the bench ain't wonderful, but not a disaster either. OTs are a such a premium these days, you not drafting a perfect one in late R3. Munch's track record speaks for itself.

A underachiever that was rotated in on one of the best lines. I think those types get to sit and watch. Instead of getting thrown into the mix.

BTW Sweet Titties Willie Parker and Tom Lady says

hi

7th rounders are not expected to make the team, much less make an impact... if we get anything out of him its a plus

if we lights a fire under big dans *** to play better and either win the starting nt job or be the 4th dl I the rotation ahead of Walton, we can stash Frazier, I think he can be good.

A Nose Tackle thread. Tim Settle was there for us in round five.

This was a decent defensive tackle draft, yet the Steelers waited for round 7 to pick one, and the player who was selected played in roughly 18% of the snaps for the past two seasons.

There were some here who felt Tim Settle a player who I think would offer a better base run defense than Hargrave would make a good Steeler He was there for us to choose in round five, but we passed to select another safety who's slow with limited ability to make plays on the ball according to his four-year stats in college.

I, probably, would have taken Settle, too, even if I was targeting the other dude we got in the 7th. As for the 18% of snaps BS, he was playing behind Payne, IIRC, a top 15 pick. In addition, isn't that the amazing AL line that was keeping Evans clean and made him look like such a good pick? So, maybe he is not as good as Payne or the guys on the OL that made Evans look like a 1st rounder, but that doesn't mean he is not a good player.

However, when I look at the NFL grade, it says round 2-3 and he went in the 5th. Why would I, then, think that the rest of their analysis is correct? On Allen they missed by 1 round, but Settle they missed by 2. Are they wrong about other things, too?

Rather than ***** about it, i will wait and see what's up when the cleats hit the field.

Thanks Ark. I think Settle would start for us. Our base RUN D is weak. Hargrave gets pushed around too easily, and nether of our ILB's would start on most past Steeler teams since the 1990's.

Tombert: "Why take a NT when they are only going to play a small portion of the downs. Why waste the high pick. Hey, let's draft our 4th QB!".

Thanks Al. Like I said slightly his arm length is a shade above average. Okay, 64%

But were would his bench, and shuttle time rate among drafted Offensive tackles? Way below 50%, I think. You can tell me.

Aer the Steelers keeping four tackles, or is Hawkings gone? And if we only keep 3, we go with a rookie back up.

Gilbert has shown to be injury prone, so very likely Steelers keep 4 tackles.

Chuks replaces Hubbard on the roster, unless an UDFA beats out Hawkins.......that will be the only change. Go find some new crayons for your coloring book.
