So Edmunds wasn't supposed to be a 1st round pick.

Reid and Harrison were?

Reid wasn't picked till the 3rd, and Harrison is still on the board.

A lot of people here would have felt better if Reid or Harrison were taken in the 1st, but in reality, neither player was seen as anything better than a 3rd round prospect. That is the reality. Looks like choosing either Reid or Harrison in the first, would have been an extreme reach, and the Steelers made the right pick.

It's looking that way but you can't tell for a few years until they are actually on the field playing.

I was not a big Harrison fan, as he's an in the box type. Why Reid fell with a top combine, and film that shows playmaking is beyond me.

Reid is 6'1" tall, with 4.40 speed, and lots of plays. Those are first round numbers

Could be something off the field or an injury. We'll see if anything comes out.

You might be right. The NFL has better background checks than the FBI does. If he's an anti American troublemaker type, I could see ALL teams passing on him for round one.

Edmunds is 6'1 217 with 4.4 speed and made lots of plays as well, but those are not 1st rd numbers to you because..........not who you wanted....mmkay Coach Narrative

GREAT follow up on this Cope, really makes the talking heads / experts not look so smart. I had a Cheif's fan say PITTSBURGH blew it. They took a Mike Mayock ranked 73 and picked him at 28. Lots of better value there for us to pick................. I said first off...**** YOU YOU DUMBASS casual fan. Then went on to explain how his "EXPERT" was wrong more than right....not even close. Just a thank you for seeing this and getting it here for us to view.

Salute the nation

Maybe Edmunds would still be on the board if we hadn't allegedly reached for him by some experts experty-ness. Maybe we drafted the best S in the draft (I highly doubt it) only time will tell.

If it were me, there were at least 10-20 names I would've looked at not named Edmunds with that pick, but what the hell do I know? Not a damn thing more (or possibly less) than all these talking heads.

I do know the Steelers do pretty well in general with building the team through the draft so I'll just trust their judgement over the outside experts and hope this isn't the reach it appears to be to many.

There's probably a lot of subterfuge in the process. Teams pumping up guys that they don't like on film for certain reasons. Teams talking down on guys that they want to fall down to where they can be picked. I mean Josh Allen it wouldn't even surprise me if the Bills leaked those tweets.

Also I think the teams get rubbed the wrong way by guys. It's one thing as a fan to think about money vs 180 million-dollars on the cap. but a million dollars is absolutely a ton of money and you really don't want to be giving that cash to a guy that you're not 100% sold on. Maybe you think the guy has been working his whole life for an NFL payday stead of working his whole life to be great in the NFL. And obviously you take the latter.

As far as I know, nobody here is actually a doctor, but when team doctors look at Medicals on guys, sometimes they just don't feel right about them either.

He played at VaTech instead of a football powerhouse school.

Playing with a busted shoulder in 2017 certainly didn't help Edmunds' perception in the draftnik community...

This kid was drafted to play hybrid safety and ILB. I can sum it up in one word, Gronk. No more getting torched by Gronk with other players.

That is the plan at least. Kid does come with that potential.
