Only 1 champ at the end of the regular season......It ain't so simple to get the championship....

So for every team other than the eventual champion each year nothing means ****????

The journey counts too.....The excitement of a new season, the new jerseys bought, the rooks, the new starts for old vets, the anguish & pain, the exhiliration, the tailgates, the yelling at the TV and YES YELLING AT TOMLIN...

They aren't allowed to tackle per the CBA. The Steelers always have one of the most physically challenging training camps among all NFL teams. They do a lot of hitting and wearing pads. They do as much as possible allowed by the league.

Only someone who is willing to settle for mediocrity would think my reasoning is flawed. You don't scratch and claw every year to make it to the playoffs and then go one and done. Don't strive to be the Bengals.

If you believe that, and I'm not questioning that you do. Then you're saying the Rooney's chose Tomlin not just because he's black. But also because they either liked him, felt they could help him grow into the position or for some other reason.
Unless of course, you're saying that the Rooney's just said "forget the other black coaches out there who are better, we're hiring the first black guy to interview because there's a rule named after us."
 
The fault dear Tomlin, is not in the Steelers stars, but in yourself.

I would challenge the homer yinzer’s to a battle of wits on this topic, but I see they are unarmed.
 
The crazy thing about Tomlin's record against inferior teams is that it could actually be worse.

How many games over the years have the Steelers had to squeeze out a win late in the fourth quarter or in overtime when they were heavily favored to win?

Hell, the 0-16 Browns gave the Steelers everything they could handle, as did the Colts and Packers without Luck and Rodgers.
 
Day before the draft and you fucktarded transforming fuckwaffles are bitching about Tomlin. For the love of got damn it man. He is a solid coach, that just needs to let his coaches coach in crunch time. We all know his strengths and weaknesses by now.

As far as his hiring he blew Rooney's away in the interview process.

He has been getting close just no cigar.


But there was player and coaching changes. Let us see what transpires.

And what does that say when you mention that he has to let his coaches coach in crunch time? He’s the head coach who better have the cool head and prevail in crunch time.
We don’t need a melt down after the non catch by JJ against the Pats. This team had to be prepared for all scenarios while the play was being reviewed. That’s his job to make sure.
I don’t want to see this **** again from him. No more excuses. He’s got the best talent in the league and can’t make it to the AFC Championship game.

There is some white and black assistants worthy of a look to be fair.

But as far as a black head coach, not that I care to separate color.

But because it was asked I would have to say there isn't a better black head coach out there.

Overall I think it is fair to say Tomlin is in the top 5, some would argue he belongs in the number 2 slot.

One could counter that he at least got them to that many playoff games,while not having a losing season.

Kinda misleading when the majority of those games included major injuries to key players including the super Bowl loss to the Packers

I agree that they thought he was the best choice. He seemed to have it at first. I think everyone was pretty optimistic about him. But in retrospect, there is no way he was the best choice. No idea who that was, but it was not him.

I can name one that's lost 5 of his last nine playoff games, with a HOF QB and that some of y'all pointed to as a "better coach than Tomlin"

I wasn't just talking about who we interviewed, and even so, I have no idea how good those guys on your list would have been with the Steeler org behind them.

See, that's how this works. A person posts a question, and people answer it to the best of their ability.
I can see you actually do know how this works, since you asked a question of your own. So, that means you must be acting obtuse on purpose.
That said, in answer to YOUR question, I'd put Tomlin and McCarthy at 2 and 2A. I think they're about the same as far as the hierarchy goes.
