If the draft was today

They need talent. BPA at OLB, CB, DL, OL or even WR.

1. Corner
2. Off. Tackle
3. Outside LB
4. Corner
5. Outside LB
6. Tight End (pass catching)
7. Off. Guard

yes but i was looking at college possible draft , and i don't see a stud olb

Colberts name hasn't been mentioned much in the blame game. If you would have told me they wouldn't draft a CB until the 5th round I would have said you didn't know what you were talking about.

I see no way they go LB high. Weren't 3 of our 4 starters 1st round picks. Worilds was the only none 1st rounder if my recollection is correct. They need to go CB in the first. I know they normally go BPA but this coming year, I think they have to take the best CB on the board when they pick.

If the draft was today, Colbert and Tomlin would **** it all up like so many other drafts. Not sure why these two have no drafting chemistry, but they suck as a tandem.

Vic Beasley from Clemson is a 3-4 OLB.

Might switch 5 & 7 , but looks good!!!!

In the last 10 years we have drafted ONE CB in the first 3 rounds, McFadden. Wonder why we have had such a mediocre secondary ? Throwing a late round draft pick hoping to hit on a gem is Tomlin's MO.

With the current talent evaluation, not sure if 1st and 3rd are that much apart....

The Steelers need an OLB who can get to the quarterback much more than they need a corner. The pass rush is absolutely pathetic.

1. Challenge review guy in the booth - in order to strengthen an area of concern - we need this guy FIRST.
2. Best DB available - whoever he maybe - WE NEED HIM.
3. Stone Cold Steve Austin - The next player the celebrates after a first down/touch down - beware Stone Cold Steve Austin is on the roster...
4. Kirby Smart - Time for some younger blood in our defensive scheme (does a fine job at Bama; but, we can at least match the paycheck)
5. Grace Jones - this team lacks discipline; by drafting Grace - she will demand respect and discipline - lest one of the 53 get eaten alive...
6. Another challenge review guy in the booth - just in case the 1st rd. guy doesn't work out...(Hey Washington got away with this same theory)
7. Sniper - that'll teach Coach Tomlin about stepping on the field when he's not supposed to.

Draft an OT, OLB and CB with the first three picks in 2015 and perhaps again in 2016, with presumably two people other than Tombert selecting the players.

Is that too much to ask?

Fast and weak, or slow and weak, thats how we like our LBs. See anyone coming out that fits that criteria?

Beasley is a gifted player... however, I think there is zero chance of him a 3-4 OLB. The guy goes MAYBE 230? I cannot see him setting the edge against the run. Maybe a 4-3 Will? He has serious chops.

And who drafted that ONE and only CB? And how many CB's did he grab early in the draft? Who drafted Ike and in what round? With all the things to lay on Tomlin, this is not one of them. Cowher did the same exact thing, so maybe this one is on Colbert. Or it could be that LeBeau tells them they can get by with lower round CB's because his defense is based on PRESSURE.

Already giving up on this draft eh? Most people were raving about it in May.

Looking at the draft I don't think there will be a CB worth our pick so this is how I draft.

1- OT
Beachum has done well, but not great at LT and I think if we had a true blue chip LT and moved Beachum to LG our only weak spot would be RT. Maybe Gilbert gets it together, maybe Adams takes his spot, maybe a 5th round pick or Wesley Johnson can man the spot. IDK but right now I feel that is the pick.

2- CB
Just because I am not thrilled with the talent at CB this year doesn't mean I don't think we need to use a pick or two at the position. I don't draft a "typical" steelers CB I only look at speed, hips, and hands. I don't care at this point if he can tackle or make that big hit I want a CB that if you throw his direction can pick it the eff off!

3- DE/OLB
I don't re-sign Worilds unless the 9 million he makes is spread over a 3 year contract. I am happy the Steelers didn't just sign him because of one good year but I wish they wouldn't have sign Allen and Gilbert because of good camps. We could have done a lot more with free agency if we would have let everyone play out this season.

4- DE/OLB
Get a guy who can get after the QB.

5- CB
Yep, I double dip again. I see three glaring needs at OT, CB, and pass rusher so since I went OT in the first I trust I found a starter then I find two CB and pass rushers hoping I get two starters out of them.

6- WR
I don't see Lance Moore or DHB on the team next year and so far Justin Brown has not impressed. I think Wheaton will be a quality #2. I don't know what Bryant will be but I would like someone to push him.

7- OL
Try to find a zone blocking guy who can push Wesley Johnson, Mike Adams, and maybe even Gilbert.

Not bad but still doesn't address the fact that Heath is old and slow and we have no threat at backup TE to either replace him in the future or compliment him now in 2 TE sets.

I dont know why anyone would sign off on a tackle.
why, when I suggested it this past draft, I was scorned and told we already have Beachum at LT.

I am fine with Miller coming back next year without any draft pick competition but if a good TE falls to the 6th I wouldn't be against drafting one either. Our secondary, and pass rush is gad awful and Ben has a little more time this year but still the line gets thrown around too much for my liking. I think Beachum would be a pro bowl LG and if our only question mark was RT hopefully we can cover up that weak spot with a TE and chipping out of the backfield.

So then when Heath falls completely off the wagon we have no one to replace him . Better for a young TE to wet his feet playing with Heath for a year or so than to throw him into the fire as a rookie starter. The failure to draft well over the years is coming home to roost as our pipeline is empty and we will have to draft a LB in the 1st round for the 3rd straight year due to the Jarvis miss and the Worilds reach.
