This happened a year ago, I mean it's still a crime but they waited 14 months to bring charges? Not even denying he's a POS or anything, but this guy seems severly overcharged. If he seriously injured this woman why was he running free for more than a year?
the woman wasn't severely injured. He shoved her and two other security personnel as he forced his way through instead of going to where he was supposed to enter the field. The on the paraplegic woman injured her shoulder. They say they had more pressing cases to pursue before they could finish processing the evidence on this case and bring charges. It doesn't really matter. If he put his hands on an elderly paraplegic person and caused any kind of injury, it is a crime and he should receive punishment. They hit him with a felony charge because of the ladies age...they will likely end up punishing him for a lessor charge or at least somewhere below the max allowed for the charge they hit him with....

Seems like each year the NFL thugs take over what was good out of NFL players. NFL is beginning to be more and more what the NBA is.
The league is on a decline sadly.
The more off field incidents like this will drive away some more fans.
Every league has their bad apples. But the nfl will be more centered cause it's the biggest league in our country

The optics here are terrible. A big NFL player assaults a 66-year-old lady? Most movies would not have this. Maybe it would fit in A Clockwork Orange.
I hope this costs Bennett dearly.

I agree. Maybe 5% of the fans left last year, but I know a few who are 50/50 on watching next year. With these millennials not playing or watching sports the way the previous generations used to the NFL would be wise to do what they can to retain the 35-50 age group.
The NFL needs NBA like rules for the anthem, dress and assaulting people.

He should be prosecuted just like anybody else,....but won't be. He'll get reduced to near nothing, like a $5,000.oo fine and 24 hours community service and then won't complete the hours. He will give the lady $15,000.00 on the side and she will NOT press or testify to the full extent. Piece of **** will get away with it and yet he is "OPPRESSED" here in the GREAT USA.!!!!!!!!!!
The elderly are victimized in many ways and not just physically. Many are held ransom in their own homes by family members. EXAMPLE: Vera (81yrs) has her son living in her basement. He makes his living selling on EBay or tries to. He has it set up in her name and over the years he never paid income tax on anything. Vera didn't know any of this and got a IRS letter saying she owes $6G. She is distraught and ask's a friend (my sister) about this. Eventually they question the states attorney (free) how she could owe money on this (she didn't know of the Buisness), the states attorney looked into it and found the details. They approached the son and had to strong arm him into being responsible for the IRS dept. It took a threat of elderly abuse to close this.
MY point is unless examples are made NOW and held accountable no one will care. Remember the clock is ticking on all of us and like it or not may need these laws to be working in the future. Picking on the elderly is like picking on a kid, bullying and I for one will step in if I ever see it happening. Bennet should have been confronted by those around the incident and he would find out not all people are scared of a ******* ******** bully such as him.

This will continue till someone stands up to these over paid athletics that produce nothing, playing a game. NO accountability. It has taken away from the good any other NFL players have done.
Like Burthdefect, Bennett is a good player, but his brain is scrambled. Imagine if they just concentrated on their profession.

Read an artickle his lawyer is saying they have several key witnesses saying Bennet never laid a hand on her. Claiming he rushed by her and so did many others and it's possible someone else shoved her. Can't wait to clear his client in court. I just hope the truth comes out and if those "witnesses" are perjuring themselves........they get maximum as well. Bennet's sister supposedly has a video of the incident but "MAJICALLY" the segment of time in question is blank. Go figure

I wouldn't think they would'nt indict the guy (Bennet) on a FEDERAL charge unless they had something pretty sound. As for the Bennet Lawyer hire,,..... Maybe the lawyer see's a easy paycheck that can be inflated along the way, as in client is to stupid to know when to say when.
