THIS would be a good signing, IMO.

Burnett played at FS, ILB and SS over the slot and was responsible for play calling. Carnell Part 2!

Way back to the beginning of this felt strongly they needed stop gaps at FS and ILber, even if they were going to draft those positions 1 and 2. And low and behold presto.

If this is true they did what needed to be done, and I am happy.

I think Burnett would be more of a SS, than a FS player.

So you just might see a Davis FS move afterall. Orrrrrrrrr Davis might need to be nervous.

Should be nervous.
Better yet, should drive Davis to be competitive.

OK, we now added our depth at both main positions of need. Now, we can go into the draft and still take the best ILB at No. 1 and best S at No. 2. Not much has changed other than our hair isn't on fire right now. This would be two typical and decent Steelers signings.

a packer's fan friend of mine tells me to expect a Pro Bowl kind of season from Burnett. He's very frustrated with their FO this offseason

A WR or OLB could very well be taken in rd 2 IMO.
We don't turn our back on skill guys (James Washington) and we need someone that can actually rush the passer not named Bud Dupree (Josh Sweat/Oko).
 
As Coolie says BPA. That’s always been their MO, but Mason Rudolph sure has been in the conversation with a lot of writers lately. It would be interesting.......ILB, S, QB....if all three were available who would they take?

I think the ILb if all three were equal.

Ben has two to three years, and this class is weak at ILBer in comparison to S IMO.
 
I've also been hearing a lot of Mason Rudolph and Lamar Jackson talk. Jackson scares me and MR arm is suspect. He shined in his Pro Day, so we'll see how it plays out.
 
The more I read about Burnett, the more I like. He is versatile and was pretty much the leader of the Packers D last year until he got hurt. He very well could be our starter next to Davis for the next 2 to 3 years unless we draft a real good safety early. Good move.
