Steelers sign Jon Bostic 2 year deal

you have two bags of gold and one bag of fake gold.

You have a penny operated weight scale, and only one penny.

Fake gold weighs.1.5 pounds per coin. Real gold weighs 1 pound per coin.

How do you find out which of the three bags has the fake gold coins?

I would put 1 coin from bag 1, 2 coins from bag 2 and 3 coins from bag 3 on the scale. That's 6 coins. If they were all real it would be 6 lbs. If bag 1 is fake then it will weigh 6.5, Bag 2 would be 7 lbs and If it's bag 3 then it will weigh 7.5 lbs

You are correct, the winner!

Please come to the counter and collect your fools gold.

:encouragement:

sidenote: Oh and make sure you line up your bags and place your coins on the scale in order. Otherwise you could be a oops now, what bag did I get these coins out of dilemma.

He can be a sideline to sideline guy if he stays healthy.
Provides the speed we need at the ilb position.

I like the signing. Perhaps he can pan out to be a Farrior type guy.

I'm going to pull a Coach (tongue in cheek) and point out that I said in the earlier "Predictions" page that the Steelers would add two ILBs ... one through FA and one through the draft .... AND that one would obviously be a Shazier replacement and the other would quietly be Williams' replacement (Bostic) ... They're halfway there ... lol

Keep pulling em' Bostic is an injured the Bears gave up on, the Patriots cut, and a terrible Colts defense did not want to retain in free agency.

He's a backup.

I think he'll get a chance to take Vince place in the future. It's a head to head competition for the future buck spot even though he'll start at Mack this season

It doesn’t even matter if he’s good enough to be a string starter. Last year proved we need both a starter and depth, so worst case is Bostic is a mediocre starter or a quality bckup to somebody better who has yet to be added.

best case is Bostic is a quality starter now and they land somebody good in the draft to be a future starter.

It was mostly thought that the Steelers would grab someone in FA for depth and then draft ILB high. I still think they should take Evans or Van Der Esch if they are there at one. I've read that many think the Steelers will now wait until the middle rounds but I don't think there is much starting ILB middle round talent there. Bostic is not a definite to be a starter. At best, he is a stop gap, if he is healthy. He still has to pass his physical today to make this even happen. ILB is still our No. 1 need and then S.

I'm curious if they even made an attempt at Mathieu?

Bostic graded out extremely well vs the run, but extremely bad vs the pass. ILB has to be the #1 need still, Williams is in the final year of his contract I think, you have to assume Shazier won't be back too.

I doubt they did and even if they did, he was way out of their price range. We would have heard something.

I'm not overly excited about this. What we need most (ILB with ability to cover) doesn't seem to be his strong suit. If he can teach people how to tackle, it may be worth the cost.

I hope we aren't paying him a whole lot.

if Vander Esch and Evans are gone I wouldn't mind getting a top S (Reid) and picking Jefferson, Leonard or Baker in the 2nd

Definitely agree but if Evans and/or Vander Esch are there at 1-28, we still must take one of them.

4.6 speed should be decent enough vs the pass game.
I wonder if Butler can put him in position to utilize that.

4 Millions for two years, 1,4M signing bonus according to Fowler's tweet.

Great Deal Mr Colbert

That's an excellent deal for Bostic. If he holds down the starting role for a year and performs well, it's a steal. If he's a backup to a rookie that wins the job, no problem at that price.

We still need to draft an ILB imo. Right now we don’t have a ILB who can cover. VW and Bostic are almost the same player. Both good against the run but can’t cover at all.
